Create passport photos with a free software (GIMP)

A step by step demonstration of how to convert a raw image into a passport photo size. Take the image with your smart phone or a camera, open it in the free software called GIMP, and follow the instruction to crop, scale, remove background, check the head size, and finally create a 4 x 6 sheet filled with six passport photos.

Thanks for the video. I found another method based on your video but much easier, I think.
In iPhone there is the option to take the contour automatically of a picture. Get the contoured photo, crop as the video, on the right panel, add a mask; white (full). now the photo will have a white background. Resize to photo and save. Then continue as in the video by copying that into 4"x6".
