so happy to see another mijonju video. the RF70 looks very promising, I don't recall the last time I've been so excited for a new announced camera (probably the X100S)
I love your videos, I used to watch them and go dang, I can't make my own photography show because how can anyone top the Mijonju show. And now there are a ton of camera shows
glad your back! I like this camera a lot and was so happy to hear it was in the works but i wish it was one rangefinder and and i am scared of the price on it. Really hopeful that Polaroid Originals comes out with a "pro" camera with manual controls. Can only be hopeful!!!
wow! amazing review! the Mijonju spirit is back. and it's cool to see your island. one day it would be fun if you could make a video tour of the place.
Thanks for this update ! Looks promising, all of those manual controls would make any instant photographer more happy and more artistic. Sad that fuji really dump all of its production on pell apart fim . I recently got a Polaroid 210 that was given, sadly can buy anymore her in my town. Keep up those videos coming , thanks again I appreciate your experience and hope to learn more from you.
Glad you're back. I love the island life. Your daughter's so kawaii! This camera is tempting but I'm still leaning toward the InstantFlex TL70 2.0 to add to my collection.
Just FYI, I'm primarily shooting with a Sony a7 (Mk. I) & occasionally printing with the Instax SP2. That's why I want to get the InstantFlex TL70 2.0 since it uses the same film. Although, I'm tempted to buy this & the Instax SP3 lol.
Super into it! I'm going to get one, for sure - this is the Instax camera I've been waiting for. My biggest complaint is the Fuji GS645 folder focus/RF set up. Why not just have the film plane move like on a Mamiya 6 rather than engineering a complicated RF mechanism at the front... Also, multi-exposure priority seems a little weird, but whatever I'm not a camera designer. Awesome video! Super fun :)
If mint can support their company with enough profit, more amazing cameras will appear... Maybe they wanna make it compact as a salute to the land cameras
Those photos look great. Love the blurred background. It shows how beautiful this film can look, but has never had the chance until now. I really want this camera, how much is it?
Fuji needs to make a proper daylight balanced film. I shoot instax manually on my yashica TLR and indoors it comes out too much yellow and outside it comes out too blue like 8:00. It's a film white balanced to flash.
Great review and also amazing editing/visual effects! 面白いで ! I already had taken a liking for this camera, but now I'm charmed. (also amazing return: missed your few recent videos, but will watch them)
This video is like daydreaming. So charmingly done by a true camera and instant enthusiast! An Instax Wide rangefinder with metering is just a dream come true!! I always said, what the world needs is a Fuji FP-1 for Instax but this Mint RF70 seems even more compact. You wont't get a rangefinder folding large format camera with auto and manual mode for $300. This will be more like $600-$700 but it's on a different quality level than a Lomo. The one big downside, even a potential dealbreaker to me is the wide angle 93mm focal length, similar to all other standard Instax camaras. I'm spoiled by my Polaroid Pathfinder Instax conversion with the beautiful 127mm NORMAL lens!! These conversions, mentioned in the video, seem to be no longer possible because the Lomo Belair instant back with hand crank is not available anymore :-( My biggest wish would be a longer focal length of at least 114mm like the pack cameras. I just hate wide angle photography with all its distortions and having to go closer and closer to objects, sorry. Though f5.6 of course is impressive! How is the focusing at the lens connected to the rangefinder? Thanks for the video! And thanks Mint for doing this - that is if I'm not dreaming right now...
Gary had already covered a few things in this video that you mention ... such as the self timer, and yes it's gonna be the double tap bit which I think is wacky. As for not knowing what "with glass" means...while one would hope it is referring to a glass lens, Gary has already said it will be "coated glass" ala Spectra Minolta Instant pro along with some plastic elements...hence the SOFT f5.6.
I will buy this camera on day 1. I really like Instax films (especially the Mono) and I was waiting for camera like this. Instax Wide 300 is ok, but having a some manual settings is just essential for some advanced work. The only thing I'm a little afraid of is the price tag (I think it will cost at least $700), but I understand it is very expensive to develop camera like this, so if it's under $1000, I will buy it instantly.
Looks like it is coming in at $900. Out of my price range but I was really excited for this...Was hoping it was going to be more like $500 which is still 5x the price of current instax wide cameras
Scott Dietz Well it's out of my price range too, because if I include all the importing taxes / duties (all packages outside EU are going through a special post office here in Czech Republic), the price will be like $1200, which is insane, even though I love this camera. Sorry Mint.
久しぶり!I just bought an instax wide 200 on merucari. Was so cheap, something like 800y. I loved shooting with point&click instax mini but I needed a bigger frame and more creativity. Ok for the frame but not sure for the creativity... Wanted to craft the camera to force double exposure or something but not sure it's possible. Anyway love your vids and viva instant photography ^^
Saw your sneakpeak on IG last night and super happy that I got to see this before starting the week! Mint as a startup really push the boundaries at f5.6?! The bokeh 🤤 Best Monday morning vid and welcome back mijonju
Mijonju, thoughts on the monochrome version of Instax? Can you do some samples with the Mint RF and b&w Instax ? I believe it comes in wide as well. Thanks.
HEY Polaroids Originals Look this camera, shoots 10 SHOTS!!!! All Manual Film eject manual Camera, your Pronto one step that you have 8 Shots, and Fix Focus.. This Mint RF70 I want it for Christmas, it is like the old Polaroid Land Cameras. Beat that All shutter, and aperture that I can control that I can choose. YES YES And YES. Thank you MINT!!!
The issue for me is you still have some issues with quality... Assuming shutter speed is the issue. Some are beautiful but some are complete misses and this photographer is very talented. His photos are really fantastic.
The Mijonju Show thank you ! Make a coffee now and watch it. Wish me luck you say it is total crap otherwise I am 800 Euro poorer. Yeeeah - Spaghetti and Ketchup for the rest of the month.
Eddie Hawe advertising for the video :) don't think anyone would pay 7031710yen 70 is 70 3 can be read as mi 1 is Ichi (can read just the i) 7 is Nana can be read just nn 10 Can be read as Tou 7031710 you can buy a pretty nice condo or Bungalow in Japan, don't think anyone would buy it ;)
I am very excited about this new product! I just hope it's not gonna be over 300USD... Already have the InstaWide from Lomo... but still cant wait to see what the RF70 can offer!
Check out part 2 here ruclips.net/video/LcoHpVAG4cU/видео.html
I haven't watched your videos in years.
This video brings me tears of happiness.
So good to see you back and sharing the love of film photography.
This is the instax version of the Fuji GS645 or bessa 667
I like it
Yes, you can put it that way too :)
0,75m close focus - OMFG! Finally! A MF rangefinder for portraits. Hope the paralex is corrected in the viewfinder.
I like the whole graphics thingies that are floating in here!
so happy to see another mijonju video.
the RF70 looks very promising, I don't recall the last time I've been so excited for a new announced camera (probably the X100S)

Awesome :) A fun watch a always. Really excited for this 😁
The Mijonju Show is back!
Yeah!

Ya, they didnt want to sell the department for some reason.. Im glad you enjoyed the vid!

BUT THIS IS A RANGEFINDER! *evil Laugh Muahahahahaha
Thank you for this review Michael. And it’s good to see you post again. It looks like wonderful camera. One day I hope to be able to afford it
Brilliant episode. Really excited for this camera to be released! Glad to see your making content again
Will try to make more, now that Nico can kinda look after herself.
Great video man. Keep up the awesome content

ITS SO GOOD TO SEE YOU BACK! MIJONJU!!!!!!!
Yeah! thanks!
Those photos look great. Love the blurred background. It shows how beautiful this film can look, but has never had the chance until now. I really want this camera, how much is it?
looks a lot like the fuji g670. wish they were still making those
Japanese is such a beautiful language. And Nico is so cute! The camera is nice too ;)
Thankyou!! 2018 is a great year to start learning a new language! :)
Most manual camera you can choose to focus whatever your eyes wish. Range finder is a bit faster holographic image matching vs reflex or ground glass
Glad to see you posting videos again!
more coming soon!
Hey, you're back!
Like the look of this camera very much and want one ... though I do think they need to improve sharpness of the lens quite a bit.
Looking at the bottle examples he shot on the table it looks sharp. Especially compared to the current Instax camera lineup.
Fuji needs to make a proper daylight balanced film. I shoot instax manually on my yashica TLR and indoors it comes out too much yellow and outside it comes out too blue like 8:00. It's a film white balanced to flash.
Was it a modded camera?
No It's a normal yashica D, I just place the instax film inside it using a changing bag and I develop it using a instax mini camera.
Instant buy, or should I say instax buy.
Awesome vid bro! Can't wait to get one!
Wheres your FP-1? you can modify that to a instax wide too!
but a turning crank maybe.
sigh... sadly... i sold it awhile ago
Cool! As always!!
More coming sooN!
Great review and also amazing editing/visual effects! 面白いで !
I already had taken a liking for this camera, but now I'm charmed.
(also amazing return: missed your few recent videos, but will watch them)
Been following you since I saw the digitalrev video with you and kai, good old days of lomography :)
Thats like 7-8 years ago?! hehe.. thankyou for still having interest.
same! I saw him through digitalrev, good thing I just got into film (again) I didn't even forgot him lol
This is too cool! All we need right now is a sub $400 price and a finder with parallax correction!
Glad to see you back!
THANKS!
Hiiii!!! Thank you Mijonju and happy to see you!
Cheers!

Jerry Milton ohhhh great information!! Im making a part 2 for the RF calibration, I'll put this info in ;)
THIS IS DOPE!
I will buy this camera on day 1. I really like Instax films (especially the Mono) and I was waiting for camera like this. Didn't know you moved long term, wow. So what happened to the bar in Shibuya?
Theres a guy called Omi hes running the bar, if you want a drink :) go say Hi :) he does rubiks cube and shoots photos :)
Nice review video,Mijonju.
love your videos!!!
btw, how to draw the circles and lines in a video?
After Effect?
SUEN something similar ;)
I cant wait to buy this camera

Axel KZEWIT this a rangefinder ;) that's the difference..
Axel KZEWIT it chooses depth of field and aperture control. To chage depth and speed.
Actually it makes all the difference! Thanks
The timer can be activated by a long 3 second press
Saw your sneakpeak on IG last night and super happy that I got to see this before starting the week!
Mint as a startup really push the boundaries at f5.6?! The bokeh 🤤
Best Monday morning vid and welcome back mijonju
Im happy i made your Monday Morning a good one :)
Nice video! I think I like the look around f8. Does the camera have a flash sync connection?
OMG!! YES!! i took the Video but I didnt edit it IN !! Youre right, its on the left hand side of the camera.
Mijonju, thoughts on the monochrome version of Instax? Can you do some samples with the Mint RF and b&w Instax ? I believe it comes in wide as well. Thanks.
Yup i just got 2 packs, still dont know what to shoot :) coz the island is too colorful!
HEY Polaroids Originals Look this camera, shoots 10 SHOTS!!!! All Manual Film eject manual Camera, your Pronto one step that you have 8 Shots, and Fix Focus.. His photos are really fantastic.
I enjoyed this. I’m sure some people watch because you’re interesting!
would love for MINT to add a physical switch/button to choose between single shot and self timer mode.
yeah more suggestions :) this camera is a prototype, the final product will be a little different..
what with a remote control/ cable remote release?
What about parallax? The viewfinder still is located on the edge of a very large camera.
Scott Gitlin watch my next video
The Mijonju Show Great. Thank you for getting more in depth with the camera. Can you estimate when the new video will be up?
sascha it's up ;) please check it out
The Mijonju Show thank you ! Make a coffee now and watch it. Wish me luck you say it is total crap otherwise I am 800 Euro poorer. Yeeeah - Spaghetti and Ketchup for the rest of the month.
Shes precious.The kid:)Camera is OK.
Felice di rivederti, complimenti per la tua bellissima bambina.
Umberto Bellitto graze!!
Finally camera!
sorry to take so long!
Oh my word, yes! Shut up and take my money!
Great insight. I can't wait for the camera to be released.
Quick tip - not every video has to have music in the background :)
Rūdolfs Rancāns still on my learning curve. Thanks for the tip.. Learning to 100‰ self produce ;)
nice one..
Im glad you like it!
been wondering when a new video from you will come out..tq tq..
Is it made of plastic? Looks a bit flimsy, but the results are pretty good!
its a prototype, there might be a paint coating? im not sure.. if you have any suggestions put it here :)
Amazing! I would buy it in a heartbeat!
Sync it up with your Eurorack and you get an orgasmic camera!
I'm sure it's possible ^^
Okaeri!
Tadaima!!
Are you selling your camera on Mercari ?
Eddie Hawe advertising for the video :) don't think anyone would pay 7031710yen
70 is 70
3 can be read as mi
1 is Ichi (can read just the i)
7 is Nana can be read just nn
10 Can be read as Tou
7031710 you can buy a pretty nice condo or Bungalow in Japan, don't think anyone would buy it ;)
hello viewers...this the island I live on....(dreamlike view)....me watching from a NYC 4 floor walk up....
What will the price be though?
I wasnt told about the price, guess we will have to see, sign up to their website for more info.
The site says most likely a little more than the SLR670-S NOIR, which is ~ $800 USD...
Brandyn Liu well that's unfortunate, I was hoping for 400-600$, but i mightve been overly optimistic
second hand market :)
not just that actually they are going to give out free subscription films, means when you own the camera, you get free films every month.
Take my money I want one
Wait till the final version comes out.
Take my money
MINE TOO! MiNT!
daddy wants one
Mommy wants 2 :)
This really put Fuji to shame
right! and you thought they'd have a good enough team to come up with this..
mint has only got 12 people in their team to make this camera.
I am very excited about this new product! I just hope it's not gonna be over 300USD... Already have the InstaWide from Lomo... but still cant wait to see what the RF70 can offer!
They released a statement saying it would be slightly more expensive than their SLR670-S NOIR which is $729
More accurate focus and better quality lens needed.
I was expecting it to be much sharper Wide open than that. Such a bummer
Rasec Zerimar it’s still a prototype though!
Mike Cuomo it’s closer to being finalized. The lens however I’m sure is final spec.
shut up & take my $, ohhh WAIT...... that's not a coupled RF
Fenix Yuk it is!! I'll show you the rf later I didn't show the inside because it's a little shifted due to me experimenting it.
Sorry, the annoying background jingle sucks. Good bye,!
I know you prefer green jelly ;)
