150s have always been that "edge of meta" archetype kind of like an adaptive pulse, where any kind of buff would just throw them into the stratosphere. Now 150s are definitely there.

Same! I've had the Rampage x Killclip roll in the past, it was bonkers back when Scouts were seriously meh, I can only imagine how mental it is now! With that said? I'd rather have the Zen Moment, Steady Rounds, Handling MW that kinda thing, consistency & actually being able to Reload in less than 20 seconds lol that kinda deal.
As a Jade main since the AA buff back in Shadowkeep launch I'm one of the few people that knows that the three tapping and top tier stats never changed. It just got recognized.

@@MikhailHudon_ZerithFarron I think the connection they're making is that it became "meta" even though barely any changes happened to it. 150's have always been great, people just didn't use it because they were so preoccupied with using whatever is considered meta at the time. every single gun archetype can preform very well, so the meta is less about what comes out on top and more about what the tubers direct their ire towards.
I absolutely love the 150rpm Scout meta. It finally feels like a new playstyle in the game. I haven't noticed slower games at all, if anything it's been way more fun to duel each other rather than apes with shotguns.
Its nice to have a break up in the meta, more competition for for the standard handcannon shotgun. They could do some fine tuning but having a mix up is nice.
@@DustoVonSusto its still better than hand cannons meta for very simple reason 90% meta has been handcannon so even for most ppl horrible meta of gnawing hunger was good because it was literally anything else than hand cannons.
Only thing wrong with hand cannons is their range and lack of dmg fall off. I shouldn't get bodied by a h.c. shooting from scout rifle distance. This is the problem with the entire sandbox. Weapons acting like other weapons.
I’ve had a kill clip zen moment transfiguration in my vault for a long time. I started using it last season and it’s been my favourite weapon to use in pvp recently. The changes made it a monster and I live for it
Personally I like the change. It's a breathe of fresh air from all of the shotgun hand cannons ngl. It gives a different play style that I think should be explored. It seems like the destiny sandbox has been more or so the same for a long time (hand cannon shotgun etc.) This give people the opportunity to either counter that play style in a different way. Personally It seems like it forces Aggressive players to think before pushing long lanes like they would before the buff took place. I appreciate the shake up in the Meta. LOL I can finally dust off guns I held onto for 4 years lol.

What I’m getting at is the overall fun you could possibly even be having running a scout. This isn’t riveting content watching this man two tap everyone actually trying to play the game from the back of the map lol If it’s boring to watch it can’t be much better to be behind the wheel. And don’t for one second think I’m a hater that’s incapable of the same success with a scout. I’ve maintained double digit seasonal kda using long range weapons like pulses and ended up going back to HC because I’d rather have fun then unfairly dominate lobbies to flex kda.
The lobbies could definitely slow down a bit, but hand cannons, smgs, and pulses are all still incredibly viable and with the increase in glaive usage I think the lobbies will still remain pretty fast. When someone wants to maintain a certain play style, they’ll make that play style work.
The legendaries need stat buffs, the exotics might need stat nerfs. We can't have a weapon go from an abysmally slow body ttk to a bad body ttk and suddenly call it overpowered. They're just used a lot because the 3 longest ranged maps are weighted higher this season and more people are experimenting because they got a change.
I think Perses D is an absolutely amazing scout especially in Trials with a headstone roll. If you get a crit it shuts down that res for at least 4 or 5 seconds. And I just love the sight on it
My first Perses rolled with stats for all/one for all. Absolutely brutal in PvE. Then I rolled the goddest of rolls for pvp: high cal/rapid hit/explosive. It's disgusting how much it flinches. I actively challenge sniper lanes knowing I'm going to flinch them to hell and back.
@@Paladin1034 I have a smallbore, steady rounds, perpetual motion, headstone and stability masterwork. And it is by far my favorite 150 scout. I had an EP roll but personally preferred the headstone roll

I honestly wouldn't care if the lobbies slow down. In this game, everyone is always in your face with a shotty or fusion.. this change may make people actually use primary for once more than special.
Movement is where skill ceiling is. Standing still camping with scouts at the edges of the maps is just gonna be awful. Destiny offers amazing movement possibilities and taking away that is just meaningless. I know some players find it harder than others to move quickly and push hard around the map but all should try hard to improve towards that direction. Camping makes for terrible pvp

Exactly. Scouts have a higher zoom and they have a lower aim assist for the most part unless it's certain exotics. But the community needs to learn that weapons need to be very good within their intended range. And if you are peaking with an SMG on a long range lane then you deserve to die
@@ByRaph that's like your opinion man. But plenty of people are sick and tired, and also find boring that 140 hand cannons have been dominant forever. High impact pulse rifles have amazing range and kill in 0.67, which is faster than scouts. Scouts have their place at long range. They are clunky and for the most part, have bad AA. They are fine.
I feel like you're underselling Skyburner's here, Jade Rabbit has an amazing stat package but is otherwise basically a well rolled legendary with an Exotic effect that may as well not even exist. (And don't get me wrong, I've been an advocate for how great Jade is for basically feeling like a long range Hand Cannon even before the buffs.) Skyburner's has that intrinsic Explosive Payload that adds extra flinch on hit as well as being able to hipfire it to splash people from around corners that are behind cover and Scorch them (It's not a small explosion either it has like a 4m radius.) and do not underestimate the 45 AE on top of the 90 AA that it has as this lets you make accurate jump shots even at mid range especially if you put on an exotic that adds even more. (My pairing with it has been running Peregrine Greaves on a Titan.) Jade Rabbit feels like a great Legendary, but Skyburner's feels like a great Exotic with some much more gameplay defining traits while still doing everything that a Scout can do.
Apparently a nerf for these is already being discussed at Bungie, because god forbid a Primary type that isn’t hand cannons or pulse rifles rule the Crucible. I’m so tired.
Sorry to break it to you but hcs haven’t been common meta since before shadowkeep or even a little afterwards. Pulses have been busted for god knows how long. Autos were a toxic af meta so I know that’s not what you want in pvp.
I’ve been getting the 2 secret chests in Last Wish for years now. Still never actually done the raid (thanks social anxiety), but I managed to get a Transfiguration with Rampage + Opening Shot and one with Zen + Kill Clip. Both rolls absolutely slap in PvP. STILL hunting for the Rampage + Kill Clip roll. Thing is my white Buffalo.
@@4EVER_KlNG there’s plenty guides on RUclips if you look, but essentially you load up the raid, enter the codes that take you to the right encounters, and from their you make your way to whatever chest you’re going for. Note; you can get every gun and armor piece that drops from the raid except for 1k Voices (obviously) and curated rolls of the weapons.
The buff was minimal though. 150 scouts have the same ttk as before the buff, and they can only 2 crit 1 body vs. guardians with T4 or lower resilience. They didn’t change anything else about these weapons other than that small amount of forgiveness against lower resilience guardians. Was Jade Rabbit meta a month ago? If you have at least T5 resilience, playing against 150 scouts is exactly the same as before. Also, the hard counter to a scout meta is to just be super aggressive. Speed does matter, roll up on a scout user with an SMG or a sidearm and you’re probably gonna shit on em. What’s Jade Rabbit gonna do vs. Shayura’s Wrath at 15 meters? I only say this because I’ve been maining scouts (and Graviton Lance which I get is a pulse but it’s basically a scout) for years. I have thousands of PvP kills with my Contingency Plan, Nightwatch, Royal Chance, Vouchsafe…(unapologetically have 10,000+ Graviton Lance pvp kills). Was this buff nice? Yeah. That forgiveness vs. lower resilience guardians is great. But overall, these guns do not play any different than they did a month ago, 6 months ago, 2 years ago. And the moment someone pushes up on you, you’re going to have to switch to a different weapon.
I’ve been telling people who have been crying about op scouts the same thing. They have not changed, besides small forgiveness here and there. Baffles me when people cry op. They are strong sure, but they aren’t really any different from before. It’s just popular due to both youtuber/streamer opinions and the one trials map better suited for scouts.

I've been using my Transfiguration with Rampage and kill clip for the last three years. So happy to see it be recognized even more so! It has it's flaws like the other legendary 150 scouts, but it's sight is so clean, and the way it sounds and feels is awesome!
From the perspective of a PC M&K player: I think they are good, and worthy of being a meta pick, but not too good. The 2c1b is resil gated quite low - only take 5 resil to survive it, the 2c with kill clip can be survived with 9 resil.These guns have high zoom and are harder to land shots with at mid to short ranges, while their TTKs are beaten by much of the competition under 40m. Box Breathing requires enough setup by sitting in ADS that I think it's reasonable. Maybe the lack of scouts and snipers being used in crucible has made us (as a community) worse at playing against them. Awareness of angles, use of cover, and rotations is your typical response to weapons that out range you. We all learned to use 28m hand cannons against 40m+ pulse rifles and OP Snipers back in shadowkeep... I think we can learn to play against scout rifles now.
The issue is we have to deal with op pulses and op scouts at the same time with primaries that can barely hit past 35 meters if even 30 meters at all if I don’t want to play meta. I don’t always want to snipe in every lobby I’m in.
Hey CoolGuy, was just gonna say, I've been using a Smallbore/Polygonal, Steady Rounds, Zen moment, Kill Clip with a Reload Masterwork, and with Polygonal it has 47 stability. It's stupid sticky. I used it as a meme with Fighting Lion Chimera Buff with rally barricade, and there is no outflinching lmao.
Scouts have always been my favorite weapon type in Destiny, even back in D1. I'm glad to finally see non-MIDA scouts getting some attention, as they've been fringe meta at best. I can't think of a Scout meta in D2 minus the MIDA meta at base D2, and that was mainly for the High-Cal and how Flinch worked at launch. (And I suppose the small DMT splurge, but I believe that was 'cause they turned DMT into a sniper Last Word) Perhaps the forgiveness (and Jade's Aim assist) is a little high and could use tuning, but it is a nice change of pace from HC/Shotty all day, every day. I feel I can actually take a duel with a HC and win, rather than having to get the drop on the HC and land a shot or two before they see me and return fire. I think they're fine overall (Though I can recognize I'm heavily biased as a die-hard Scout main), especially considering 90% of maps in D2 are heavily close-quarters and/or have many flank routes, and then High Impact pulses exist and can two-burst at base, no help, yielding a faster TTK, while existing in that same medium-to-long range area.
Love the video. And I just checked weapon perks and the only other weapon in the game with Rampage/Kill Clip is TECHEUN FORCE Fusions Rifle. And nothing has Rampage/Multi-Kill Clip. I get the appeal but I think Bungie is being careful on damage enhancing perks in the Crucible that don't proc without doing something extra. Thanks for the Insight into 150 scouts. Glad I'm not the only one who loves Transfiguration.
I kept a rampage kill clip transfiguration role ever since I got it cause I thought it was cool. Now with the changes, just noticed I have fluted, accurized, and a stability masterwork. Got a double we ran in a control game with it. It's insane.
I just recently got a Rampage Killclip Transfiguration after TWO YEARS getting those chests and I am never unequipping it again. Those 2 taps are just the most satisfying thing.
I think it's fine the exotics have better stats then the legendaries. They need to do the same with all archetypes in my opinion. If not, just make all single shot weapons like scouts/hc have a base aim assist of 30 and auto weapons 45 since they require more time and precision. Bungie needs to have a balance in the game and this would also create a skill gap too.
As someone who's had the Rampage + KC transfiguration since Beyond Light, it's been lowkey one of my favourite guns. I used to only use it in momentum for the funny one-taps, but when I heard about the 150 buffs, I dusted it off and nearly doubled my kill counter on it within two days of using it. Thing's absolutely insane.
Just a heads up, you can get Transfiguration by using the wish wall to get to the Shuro Chi checkpoint and then platforming across the bridge to get the secret chest. I have never even ATTEMPTED Last Wish with a group and I have the double damage roll. I did the wish wall on every character every reset for a while, and eventually it dropped. No team required.
I always used Transfiguration before the buff in big maps and as the occasional anti-dmt. never would i thought that its possible to use it in Anomaly! i am glad it is in your number 1 spot.
I don't understand how you can say that it's a problem for Scouts to counter some loadouts at Scout range. SMGs and Sidearms dominate in close range, HCs are still super popular in mid range. Pulses are also great in mid to long. How do you think Scout users have felt against HC + Shotty or SMG + Shotty up until now with literally years of dominance from those weapons.
The issue is now pulses and scouts have become the ONLY OPTION as a primary and is best paired with a fusion or shotgun. Makes for literally the perfect load out with no weaknesses. No flinch, fast ttk, no range drop, kill perks+abilities, with unbeatable close range capabilities with special, how is it not broken? Hand cannon shotgun maxed out at 35 meters and could hardly IF EVER 2 tap. You’re mistaking a load out that most high level players use for being broken when it’s the capacity of the player making it seem broken. Meanwhile we have jade rabbit beating autos at 30 meters and messengers beating thorn and hawk moon at 20 meters. Not to mention the shit show that is console aim assist for those weapons. You have chumps around the 1.0 or 1.5 kda mark dropping 25-30+ kill games when those load outs this season when they couldn’t ever get over the 20 mark because this season is made for lower skill players
Not to mention that Transfig has one of the cleanest sight pictures of any gun in the game. You barely give up any screen real estate when you zoom in.
I've been playing with that Rampage/KC Transfiguration on and off for the past 3 years. It's always been a monster. Used to do 99 with both buffs which two tapped 99% of people.
I had my Rampage + Killclip Transfiguration since Last Wish first dropped, was one of my first drops from the raid, truly one of the best rolls. I took it into Trails a few weeks ago, it shredded, only thing it had trouble fighting was Jade and that godroll Hung Jury.
I could learn to enjoy this meta. The bodyshot damage of 150s could perhaps stand to be toned down a little, but I'm afraid that would edge the legendary 150s out with their lower consistency compared to exotics.
Jade and Polaris are in my inventory currently, I always go back to them. They’re both pretty dominant in Gambit too, both have saved my ass (either invading or getting invaded) from a guardian with G-Horn. In PVP on certain maps (*coughs* Eternity) they are clutch.
Yeah rapid fires are really good still. Remember when everyone was fawning over contingency plan? Symmetry is good but doesn't get used much. I bet someone killed by it would be like "what the hell is symmetry?"
I was holding onto a Rapid Hit/Explosive Payload Perses-D because I knew if the archetype got buffed it would be crazy, and it is. People don't know how to combat it and/or can't combat it because of the flinch. It's a joy to use.
I've been sitting on a Zen Moment / Rampage Talons since my first week on D2 after D1 during Season of Arrivals. Glad I held onto it for this season's changes.
i have wanted nothing more than a kill clip hipfire 150 for a long time. i wanted kill clip as a 1 head 2 body tool but now that it 2 taps, oh boy. this combo existed back in black armory on the crucible scout but with sunsetting its no longer a thing. anyone with this roll on Does Not Compute, I salute you and wish i had that gun.
Awewsome Vid Ive been using Jade for about 4 years now..close to 20k pvp kills before the buff but with the latest buff , thats kinda exploded to a few 1000 already..feels great Ive also been using my transfig from a few years ago with Smallbore/high cal/rampage and kill clip with a range masterwork and its unbelievable in pvp and i was shocked at how quick it downs people when rampage and kill clip are active
This just came to me but, what if the buff to scouts (not that they didn't need it) is in direct correlation to the potential buffs in movement speed coming up with Arc 3.0(or the new subclass coming next year)??? As the current answer to long range weapons has/will always be, close the gap or pick up a long range weapon yourself (high impact pulses, scouts etc), what if they intend to make both of those options MORE viable?
Xúr sold a Snapshot + Opening Shot Scholar a while back (a lot of Destiny creators pointed it out because it was the first time Xúr had sold a Trials weapon). If you have that, it's fantastic. I use it in lieu of Jade Rabbit when I want to free up my exotic slot.
I've always had a Kill clip + Rampage Transfiguration in my vault, and I haven't used it in pvp in ages. The last time I used it was in Iron Banner a few seasons ago, and it could still two-tap then. Can't wait to bring it out again.
lol me having a killclip rampage roll but doest even use it... I'll make sure to use it then for other peoples sake. (I just run the 6 chest checkpoints every week) have only done the raid once.
I feel like NTTE is kinda like the 150 scouts compared to its legend counterparts in some ways. It has a pretty good rolls worth of stats and is better in other ways
I had a Badger CCL I abused in IB when D1 was still a thing. I love this archetype of Scout. I knew I kept my Zen Moment/Kill Clip Transfiguration for a reason XD.
I’ve got a couple of interesting Transfiguration rolls that feel really good: Drop Mag/Zen Moment/KC w/ stability MW and Fluted/Rampage/Opening Shot w/ range MW. Been using it against Jade Rabbit users since the buff.
I've been using that Transfiguration off and on for awhile, even used it for Day 1 VoG. One of my favorite scouts with kill clip/rampage and glad it's getting some love.
Polaris Lance is probably my favorite scout for PVP and PVE. It's my trials go to, even on small maps. I've been using it since it came out with the Mars DLC. I even still have the legendary(BrayTech RWP) version in my vault that has been getting mor use with the removal of level bonuses in Iron Banner.
I have a Hung Jury with Surplus + Box breathing with accurized rounds and a stability masterwork. Used to use it with the Devils Ruin and both guns are underrated. Haven’t really played crucible but will definitely wip it out again when I do!
I've been preaching for Perses since last season. It was good then and it's better now. Plus, as a long-time DMR main, it feels good using scouts again

Idt their a problem. I mean, we already have high impact pulses. They don’t have quite as much range but their effective at just about any range u can get on most pvp maps n D2 and their ttk is even quicker. Imo their r other things that need to b priority. Like Omni Oculus. Being able to have that high of DR at the same time as being invisible and not on radar is too much considering how often we can have invisibility active. And yes, glaive shield dr needs toned down, as much as I hate to admit it. Lol. I just hope they take it slow with glaive nerfs. It’s a unique weapon, and it’s really fun to use imo. I’d hate to c it get gutted completely.
My Transfiguration roll: Rampage/Kill Clip, Accurized Rounds, Range masterwork, Polygonal/Smallbore. Reload’s only 25, but mod helps that. With Smallbore I can hit 100 range.
What have you been using skyburners in pve with? Cuz i tried using it week 1 and just couldnt and had to vault it expecting the hipfire to be rlly good n was disappointed personally

Ah one of my best kept secrets. I somehow pulled the rampage kill clip with drop mag back in the day and it has been my top scout ever since. It’s so wild the ebb and flow between rampage stacks and kill clip when you really get rolling
I'm surprised you didn't mention the Pointed Inquiry at all, good or bad. I'm curious to see how it plays with something like enhanced Firmly Planted. While it doesn't have a damage perk other than Harmony, I feel like Demo or Dragonfly could be interesting. Just wanted to hear your thoughts since it's currently our only craftable 150.
I have that Transfiguration and I still always choose my Iron Gaze/Surplus Guiding Sight over it. Even with 50 AA it’s stupid how far off the face I can shoot and still get a crit. It’s honestly still easy to three tap with it at 15m and closer, like it’s mops up smgs players
Polaris Lance is my favorite scout in all of Destiny. I always lane with it on midtown and it just wracks up kills from people thinking they can out gun a laser without another scout, a sniper, or a rocket launcher
Coolguy you need to find a slideshot swashbuckler annual skate. Radiant + swash x5 is a 2 tap on all resil and since it's solar you can keep radiant going with that solar fragment. I recommend any hand cannon user looks in their vault because people don't expect to be 2 tapped by a 140 HC and athrys's embrace make it so easy to get radiant and swash x5 with one throwing knife. Edit: The HC ancient gospel can get the same roll but I've never done GoS so I had to use annual skate
They’re good, but not broken. Honestly, the crucible is in a really good place as far as weapon balance. Everything has a place and you can have success with nearly any load out you can think of. I think shotguns are a bit too weak, and rapid fire pulses are a bit too strong, but there aren’t that many outliers. People are just mad that shotgun/hand cannon is no longer the only viable option.
Wish they would bring the motion to compel back! Trials of the nine weapons have some Of the best weapon aesthetics. I also love this scout. It’s just hits the bells and whistles. The sound the style, takes shaders well and the perks of they were updated 🔥. Keep that kill clip on it and just it’s a banger.
I’ve had 2 rampage/kill clip transfigurations sitting in my vault for years just biding their time till they became relevant. Although I’ve always used my auto loading/kill clip roll for grandmasters.
I have a kill clip transfiguration, it’s so much fun to 2 tap people with it. For some reason I find it very easy to hit shots with it as well Fluted/steady rounds/zen/KC/handling mw
i think that, for trials at least, lowering the time that the zone appears, plus the zone spawning in a random location (like on zone capture trials) would help a lot the pace of the game.
I am loving this one exotic scout rifle I got with my stormcaller warlock. It's the Symmetry. It is very good scout so far and it feels great. I am glad that the scout rifles are feeling great so far.

150s have always been that "edge of meta" archetype kind of like an adaptive pulse, where any kind of buff would just throw them into the stratosphere. Now 150s are definitely there.

Same! I've had the Rampage x Killclip roll in the past, it was bonkers back when Scouts were seriously meh, I can only imagine how mental it is now! With that said? I'd rather have the Zen Moment, Steady Rounds, Handling MW that kinda thing, consistency & actually being able to Reload in less than 20 seconds lol that kinda deal.

My Perses-D with rapid hit and exp payload was deleting people the other day. Definitely my favorite scout at the moment.
As a Jade main since the AA buff back in Shadowkeep launch I'm one of the few people that knows that the three tapping and top tier stats never changed. It just got recognized.

@@MikhailHudon_ZerithFarron I think the connection they're making is that it became "meta" even though barely any changes happened to it. 150's have always been great, people just didn't use it because they were so preoccupied with using whatever is considered meta at the time.
every single gun archetype can preform very well, so the meta is less about what comes out on top and more about what the tubers direct their ire towards.
I absolutely love the 150rpm Scout meta. It finally feels like a new playstyle in the game. I haven't noticed slower games at all, if anything it's been way more fun to duel each other rather than apes with shotguns.

Only thing wrong with hand cannons is their range and lack of dmg fall off. I shouldn't get bodied by a h.c. shooting from scout rifle distance. This is the problem with the entire sandbox. Weapons acting like other weapons.

I’ve had a kill clip zen moment transfiguration in my vault for a long time. I started using it last season and it’s been my favourite weapon to use in pvp recently. The changes made it a monster and I live for it
Personally I like the change. It's a breathe of fresh air from all of the shotgun hand cannons ngl. It gives a different play style that I think should be explored. It seems like the destiny sandbox has been more or so the same for a long time (hand cannon shotgun etc.) This give people the opportunity to either counter that play style in a different way. Personally It seems like it forces Aggressive players to think before pushing long lanes like they would before the buff took place. I appreciate the shake up in the Meta. LOL I can finally dust off guns I held onto for 4 years lol.

And don’t for one second think I’m a hater that’s incapable of the same success with a scout. I’ve maintained double digit seasonal kda using long range weapons like pulses and ended up going back to HC because I’d rather have fun then unfairly dominate lobbies to flex kda.
The lobbies could definitely slow down a bit, but hand cannons, smgs, and pulses are all still incredibly viable and with the increase in glaive usage I think the lobbies will still remain pretty fast. When someone wants to maintain a certain play style, they’ll make that play style work.
The legendaries need stat buffs, the exotics might need stat nerfs. We can't have a weapon go from an abysmally slow body ttk to a bad body ttk and suddenly call it overpowered. They're just used a lot because the 3 longest ranged maps are weighted higher this season and more people are experimenting because they got a change.

I think Perses D is an absolutely amazing scout especially in Trials with a headstone roll. If you get a crit it shuts down that res for at least 4 or 5 seconds. And I just love the sight on it
My first Perses rolled with stats for all/one for all. Absolutely brutal in PvE. Then I rolled the goddest of rolls for pvp: high cal/rapid hit/explosive. It's disgusting how much it flinches. I actively challenge sniper lanes knowing I'm going to flinch them to hell and back.

I honestly wouldn't care if the lobbies slow down. In this game, everyone is always in your face with a shotty or fusion.. this change may make people actually use primary for once more than special.
Movement is where skill ceiling is. Standing still camping with scouts at the edges of the maps is just gonna be awful. Destiny offers amazing movement possibilities and taking away that is just meaningless. I know some players find it harder than others to move quickly and push hard around the map but all should try hard to improve towards that direction. Camping makes for terrible pvp

Exactly. Scouts have a higher zoom and they have a lower aim assist for the most part unless it's certain exotics. But the community needs to learn that weapons need to be very good within their intended range. And if you are peaking with an SMG on a long range lane then you deserve to die

High impact pulse rifles have amazing range and kill in 0.67, which is faster than scouts.
Scouts have their place at long range. They are clunky and for the most part, have bad AA. They are fine.
I feel like you're underselling Skyburner's here, Jade Rabbit has an amazing stat package but is otherwise basically a well rolled legendary with an Exotic effect that may as well not even exist. (And don't get me wrong, I've been an advocate for how great Jade is for basically feeling like a long range Hand Cannon even before the buffs.)
Skyburner's has that intrinsic Explosive Payload that adds extra flinch on hit as well as being able to hipfire it to splash people from around corners that are behind cover and Scorch them (It's not a small explosion either it has like a 4m radius.) and do not underestimate the 45 AE on top of the 90 AA that it has as this lets you make accurate jump shots even at mid range especially if you put on an exotic that adds even more. (My pairing with it has been running Peregrine Greaves on a Titan.)
Jade Rabbit feels like a great Legendary, but Skyburner's feels like a great Exotic with some much more gameplay defining traits while still doing everything that a Scout can do.
I'm actually digging the 180 rpm crafted perpetual motion explosive payload scout. So fun to play with, but yeah digging scout's for now.
Apparently a nerf for these is already being discussed at Bungie, because god forbid a Primary type that isn’t hand cannons or pulse rifles rule the Crucible. I’m so tired.
Sorry to break it to you but hcs haven’t been common meta since before shadowkeep or even a little afterwards. Pulses have been busted for god knows how long. Autos were a toxic af meta so I know that’s not what you want in pvp.
I’ve been getting the 2 secret chests in Last Wish for years now. Still never actually done the raid (thanks social anxiety), but I managed to get a Transfiguration with Rampage + Opening Shot and one with Zen + Kill Clip. Both rolls absolutely slap in PvP. STILL hunting for the Rampage + Kill Clip roll. Thing is my white Buffalo.

@@4EVER_KlNG there’s plenty guides on RUclips if you look, but essentially you load up the raid, enter the codes that take you to the right encounters, and from their you make your way to whatever chest you’re going for. Note; you can get every gun and armor piece that drops from the raid except for 1k Voices (obviously) and curated rolls of the weapons.

The buff was minimal though. 150 scouts have the same ttk as before the buff, and they can only 2 crit 1 body vs. guardians with T4 or lower resilience. They didn’t change anything else about these weapons other than that small amount of forgiveness against lower resilience guardians. Was Jade Rabbit meta a month ago? If you have at least T5 resilience, playing against 150 scouts is exactly the same as before.
Also, the hard counter to a scout meta is to just be super aggressive. Speed does matter, roll up on a scout user with an SMG or a sidearm and you’re probably gonna shit on em. What’s Jade Rabbit gonna do vs. Shayura’s Wrath at 15 meters? I only say this because I’ve been maining scouts (and Graviton Lance which I get is a pulse but it’s basically a scout) for years. I have thousands of PvP kills with my Contingency Plan, Nightwatch, Royal Chance, Vouchsafe…(unapologetically have 10,000+ Graviton Lance pvp kills). Was this buff nice? Yeah. That forgiveness vs. lower resilience guardians is great. But overall, these guns do not play any different than they did a month ago, 6 months ago, 2 years ago. And the moment someone pushes up on you, you’re going to have to switch to a different weapon.

I’ve been telling people who have been crying about op scouts the same thing. They have not changed, besides small forgiveness here and there. Baffles me when people cry op. They are strong sure, but they aren’t really any different from before. It’s just popular due to both youtuber/streamer opinions and the one trials map better suited for scouts.
It should be noted that a "skill gap" for scouts is using their hip fire in close quarters.

I've been using my Transfiguration with Rampage and kill clip for the last three years. So happy to see it be recognized even more so! It has it's flaws like the other legendary 150 scouts, but it's sight is so clean, and the way it sounds and feels is awesome!
From the perspective of a PC M&K player: I think they are good, and worthy of being a meta pick, but not too good. The 2c1b is resil gated quite low - only take 5 resil to survive it, the 2c with kill clip can be survived with 9 resil.These guns have high zoom and are harder to land shots with at mid to short ranges, while their TTKs are beaten by much of the competition under 40m. Box Breathing requires enough setup by sitting in ADS that I think it's reasonable.
Maybe the lack of scouts and snipers being used in crucible has made us (as a community) worse at playing against them. Awareness of angles, use of cover, and rotations is your typical response to weapons that out range you. We all learned to use 28m hand cannons against 40m+ pulse rifles and OP Snipers back in shadowkeep... I think we can learn to play against scout rifles now.
The issue is we have to deal with op pulses and op scouts at the same time with primaries that can barely hit past 35 meters if even 30 meters at all if I don’t want to play meta. I don’t always want to snipe in every lobby I’m in.
Hey CoolGuy, was just gonna say, I've been using a Smallbore/Polygonal, Steady Rounds, Zen moment, Kill Clip with a Reload Masterwork, and with Polygonal it has 47 stability. It's stupid sticky. I used it as a meme with Fighting Lion Chimera Buff with rally barricade, and there is no outflinching lmao.
Polaris Lance has been my favorite PVP weapon and Scout since Forsaken and I can’t believe it’s actually meta now.
Scouts have always been my favorite weapon type in Destiny, even back in D1. I'm glad to finally see non-MIDA scouts getting some attention, as they've been fringe meta at best. I can't think of a Scout meta in D2 minus the MIDA meta at base D2, and that was mainly for the High-Cal and how Flinch worked at launch. (And I suppose the small DMT splurge, but I believe that was 'cause they turned DMT into a sniper Last Word)
Perhaps the forgiveness (and Jade's Aim assist) is a little high and could use tuning, but it is a nice change of pace from HC/Shotty all day, every day. I feel I can actually take a duel with a HC and win, rather than having to get the drop on the HC and land a shot or two before they see me and return fire.
I think they're fine overall (Though I can recognize I'm heavily biased as a die-hard Scout main), especially considering 90% of maps in D2 are heavily close-quarters and/or have many flank routes, and then High Impact pulses exist and can two-burst at base, no help, yielding a faster TTK, while existing in that same medium-to-long range area.
Haven’t been able to unlock the catalyst on Polaris because that Perfect 5th kills aren’t counting. It’s been a problem for a ling time now
Love the video. And I just checked weapon perks and the only other weapon in the game with Rampage/Kill Clip is TECHEUN FORCE Fusions Rifle. And nothing has Rampage/Multi-Kill Clip. I get the appeal but I think Bungie is being careful on damage enhancing perks in the Crucible that don't proc without doing something extra. Thanks for the Insight into 150 scouts. Glad I'm not the only one who loves Transfiguration.

I think it's fine the exotics have better stats then the legendaries. They need to do the same with all archetypes in my opinion.
If not, just make all single shot weapons like scouts/hc have a base aim assist of 30 and auto weapons 45 since they require more time and precision. Bungie needs to have a balance in the game and this would also create a skill gap too.
As someone who's had the Rampage + KC transfiguration since Beyond Light, it's been lowkey one of my favourite guns. I used to only use it in momentum for the funny one-taps, but when I heard about the 150 buffs, I dusted it off and nearly doubled my kill counter on it within two days of using it. Thing's absolutely insane.
Just a heads up, you can get Transfiguration by using the wish wall to get to the Shuro Chi checkpoint and then platforming across the bridge to get the secret chest. I have never even ATTEMPTED Last Wish with a group and I have the double damage roll. I did the wish wall on every character every reset for a while, and eventually it dropped. No team required.
I always used Transfiguration before the buff in big maps and as the occasional anti-dmt. never would i thought that its possible to use it in Anomaly! i am glad it is in your number 1 spot.

I don't understand how you can say that it's a problem for Scouts to counter some loadouts at Scout range. SMGs and Sidearms dominate in close range, HCs are still super popular in mid range. Pulses are also great in mid to long. How do you think Scout users have felt against HC + Shotty or SMG + Shotty up until now with literally years of dominance from those weapons.

The issue is now pulses and scouts have become the ONLY OPTION as a primary and is best paired with a fusion or shotgun. Makes for literally the perfect load out with no weaknesses. No flinch, fast ttk, no range drop, kill perks+abilities, with unbeatable close range capabilities with special, how is it not broken? Hand cannon shotgun maxed out at 35 meters and could hardly IF EVER 2 tap. You’re mistaking a load out that most high level players use for being broken when it’s the capacity of the player making it seem broken. Meanwhile we have jade rabbit beating autos at 30 meters and messengers beating thorn and hawk moon at 20 meters. Not to mention the shit show that is console aim assist for those weapons. You have chumps around the 1.0 or 1.5 kda mark dropping 25-30+ kill games when those load outs this season when they couldn’t ever get over the 20 mark because this season is made for lower skill players
A good counter to a 150 scout laining is to use your glacier gerniade to block their line of sight and ape them with a fighting lion cannon combo
Not to mention that Transfig has one of the cleanest sight pictures of any gun in the game. You barely give up any screen real estate when you zoom in.

I've been playing with that Rampage/KC Transfiguration on and off for the past 3 years. It's always been a monster. Used to do 99 with both buffs which two tapped 99% of people.
I had my Rampage + Killclip Transfiguration since Last Wish first dropped, was one of my first drops from the raid, truly one of the best rolls. I took it into Trails a few weeks ago, it shredded, only thing it had trouble fighting was Jade and that godroll Hung Jury.
I could learn to enjoy this meta. The bodyshot damage of 150s could perhaps stand to be toned down a little, but I'm afraid that would edge the legendary 150s out with their lower consistency compared to exotics.
Jade and Polaris are in my inventory currently, I always go back to them. They’re both pretty dominant in Gambit too, both have saved my ass (either invading or getting invaded) from a guardian with G-Horn. In PVP on certain maps (*coughs* Eternity) they are clutch.

Yeah rapid fires are really good still. Remember when everyone was fawning over contingency plan? Symmetry is good but doesn't get used much. I bet someone killed by it would be like "what the hell is symmetry?"
I was holding onto a Rapid Hit/Explosive Payload Perses-D because I knew if the archetype got buffed it would be crazy, and it is. People don't know how to combat it and/or can't combat it because of the flinch. It's a joy to use.
I've been sitting on a Zen Moment / Rampage Talons since my first week on D2 after D1 during Season of Arrivals. Glad I held onto it for this season's changes.
i have wanted nothing more than a kill clip hipfire 150 for a long time. i wanted kill clip as a 1 head 2 body tool but now that it 2 taps, oh boy. this combo existed back in black armory on the crucible scout but with sunsetting its no longer a thing. anyone with this roll on Does Not Compute, I salute you and wish i had that gun.

Ive been using Jade for about 4 years now..close to 20k pvp kills before the buff but with the latest buff , thats kinda exploded to a few 1000 already..feels great
Ive also been using my transfig from a few years ago with Smallbore/high cal/rampage and kill clip with a range masterwork and its unbelievable in pvp and i was shocked at how quick it downs people when rampage and kill clip are active
This just came to me but, what if the buff to scouts (not that they didn't need it) is in direct correlation to the potential buffs in movement speed coming up with Arc 3.0(or the new subclass coming next year)??? As the current answer to long range weapons has/will always be, close the gap or pick up a long range weapon yourself (high impact pulses, scouts etc), what if they intend to make both of those options MORE viable?
Xúr sold a Snapshot + Opening Shot Scholar a while back (a lot of Destiny creators pointed it out because it was the first time Xúr had sold a Trials weapon). If you have that, it's fantastic. I use it in lieu of Jade Rabbit when I want to free up my exotic slot.

I got a old Talons of The Eagle that has Full Auto and Explosive Payload from several seasons ago, with this new buff it feels so damn good!

I’ve put on 3000kills on my transfiguration since last season when I got it. The moment I saw the 150 buff I knew it would be the king of all scouts.
I feel like NTTE is kinda like the 150 scouts compared to its legend counterparts in some ways. It has a pretty good rolls worth of stats and is better in other ways
I had a Badger CCL I abused in IB when D1 was still a thing. I love this archetype of Scout. I knew I kept my Zen Moment/Kill Clip Transfiguration for a reason XD.
I’ve been waiting for a Meta like this. I used to main a Last Extremity in D1 and it was glorious.
I’ve got a couple of interesting Transfiguration rolls that feel really good: Drop Mag/Zen Moment/KC w/ stability MW and Fluted/Rampage/Opening Shot w/ range MW. Been using it against Jade Rabbit users since the buff.
I've been using that Transfiguration off and on for awhile, even used it for Day 1 VoG. One of my favorite scouts with kill clip/rampage and glad it's getting some love.
Guiding sight with surplus and iron gaze just feels like a thing of beauty. Plus it's Holo sights are super clean
I love scouts but really have not used them much in PVP since D1. Now I am digging through my vault and actually have some really good rolls!

Polaris Lance is probably my favorite scout for PVP and PVE. It's my trials go to, even on small maps. I've been using it since it came out with the Mars DLC. I even still have the legendary(BrayTech RWP) version in my vault that has been getting mor use with the removal of level bonuses in Iron Banner.
So apparently my first The Scholar was a god send of a roll, because I just went back to check it and it has No Distractions/Opening Shot. Nifty.
I found a kill clip Transfiguration in my vault and that gun is INSANITY. I love it so much.
I have a Hung Jury with Surplus + Box breathing with accurized rounds and a stability masterwork. Used to use it with the Devils Ruin and both guns are underrated. Haven’t really played crucible but will definitely wip it out again when I do!
I've been preaching for Perses since last season. It was good then and it's better now.
Plus, as a long-time DMR main, it feels good using scouts again
It's not a problem. 150 scouts are just fine.
I've been holding onto a rampage kill clip transfig since forsaken hoping one day it'd be useful and all this has done is validate my bad habit of keeping everything that might be good

Idt their a problem. I mean, we already have high impact pulses. They don’t have quite as much range but their effective at just about any range u can get on most pvp maps n D2 and their ttk is even quicker.
Imo their r other things that need to b priority. Like Omni Oculus. Being able to have that high of DR at the same time as being invisible and not on radar is too much considering how often we can have invisibility active. And yes, glaive shield dr needs toned down, as much as I hate to admit it. Lol. I just hope they take it slow with glaive nerfs. It’s a unique weapon, and it’s really fun to use imo. I’d hate to c it get gutted completely.
My Transfiguration roll: Rampage/Kill Clip, Accurized Rounds, Range masterwork, Polygonal/Smallbore. Reload’s only 25, but mod helps that. With Smallbore I can hit 100 range.
Pointed inquiry with enhanced firmly planted and enhanced harmony is really underrated
Ever since this season started, I've been in love with Skyburner's Oath in both PvP and PvE with my Titan Bonk build. Its just...amazing
What have you been using skyburners in pve with? Cuz i tried using it week 1 and just couldnt and had to vault it expecting the hipfire to be rlly good n was disappointed personally

Ah one of my best kept secrets. I somehow pulled the rampage kill clip with drop mag back in the day and it has been my top scout ever since. It’s so wild the ebb and flow between rampage stacks and kill clip when you really get rolling
I'm surprised you didn't mention the Pointed Inquiry at all, good or bad. I'm curious to see how it plays with something like enhanced Firmly Planted. While it doesn't have a damage perk other than Harmony, I feel like Demo or Dragonfly could be interesting. Just wanted to hear your thoughts since it's currently our only craftable 150.
I have that Transfiguration and I still always choose my Iron Gaze/Surplus Guiding Sight over it. Even with 50 AA it’s stupid how far off the face I can shoot and still get a crit. It’s honestly still easy to three tap with it at 15m and closer, like it’s mops up smgs players
yeah i got the rampage kill clip transfiguration with drop mag and it's absolutely nuts
Polaris Lance is my favorite scout in all of Destiny. I always lane with it on midtown and it just wracks up kills from people thinking they can out gun a laser without another scout, a sniper, or a rocket launcher
Coolguy you need to find a slideshot swashbuckler annual skate. Radiant + swash x5 is a 2 tap on all resil and since it's solar you can keep radiant going with that solar fragment. I recommend any hand cannon user looks in their vault because people don't expect to be 2 tapped by a 140 HC and athrys's embrace make it so easy to get radiant and swash x5 with one throwing knife.
Edit: The HC ancient gospel can get the same roll but I've never done GoS so I had to use annual skate

They’re good, but not broken. Honestly, the crucible is in a really good place as far as weapon balance. Everything has a place and you can have success with nearly any load out you can think of. I think shotguns are a bit too weak, and rapid fire pulses are a bit too strong, but there aren’t that many outliers. People are just mad that shotgun/hand cannon is no longer the only viable option.
Auto's unfortunately still suck. I think submachine guns need a range nerf if theres any chance for them to become viable.

Of the best weapon aesthetics. I also love this scout. It’s just hits the bells and whistles. The sound the style, takes shaders well and the perks of they were updated 🔥. Keep that kill clip on it and just it’s a banger.
I’ve had 2 rampage/kill clip transfigurations sitting in my vault for years just biding their time till they became relevant. Although I’ve always used my auto loading/kill clip roll for grandmasters.
I have a kill clip transfiguration, it’s so much fun to 2 tap people with it. For some reason I find it very easy to hit shots with it as well

I've always used the polaris lance, even during the time it was bugged with the perfect fifth. And now it us like a death machine.
I actually have the transfiguration roll that you talked about chilling in my vault. Now I have to try it!!
i think that, for trials at least, lowering the time that the zone appears, plus the zone spawning in a random location (like on zone capture trials) would help a lot the pace of the game.
I am loving this one exotic scout rifle I got with my stormcaller warlock. It's the Symmetry. It is very good scout so far and it feels great. I am glad that the scout rifles are feeling great so far.

Cleaned out my vault this past week but passed over my Kill Clip / Rampage Transfiguration. No way I’m ever deleting that thing
I have a transfiguration with fluted barrel, tac mag, rampage, kill clip with a stability masterwork, and it’s awesome! It honest to god feels like an exotic once you get it going. 👍🏻
I’ve stared at my Transfiguration off and on for two years saying “someday”. Time to play.
