I think Hyundai is nailing it with the i30 sedan - there's a boring (and affordable) one, a fuel-efficient hybrid, a performance step-up like this and of course the performance flagship. If i were in the market, i'd be leaning more toward this than an SUV
They nailed it with the Facelift for the ‘24 year cycle. Love every single bit of my ‘24 N line Ultimate 💜 . Best 1/4 mile time stock managed at 15.0 secs at 95 mph trap speed . Best daily commuter with a sporty feeling to it
The 7sp dry dct is absolutely horrible, Im on my 3rd one now, Hyundai have been fantastic for anything warranty-related, But I'll never buy a vehicle with a dct ever again, If you buy a hyundai with a dct, Make sure you get extended warranty up to 8 years!!
As per usual, great review and performance testing. Interestingly, this Hyundai N-Line model, auto (DCT), although only front wheel drive, is not that much more slower than the all wheel drive Subaru WRX auto (which is a CVT, unfortunately). - N-Line, 0-60; 3.96sec, 0-100; 7.52sec, 60-110; 4.81sec, 1/4; 15.72sec, 100-0; 36.94m. - WRX, 0-60; 3.46sec, 0-100; 6.68sec, 60-110; 4.23sec, 1/4; 14.86sec, 100-0; 38.4m. Whilst the N, auto (DCT) is significantly faster; - 0-60; 3.14sec, 0-100; 5.73sec, 60-110; 3.43sec, 1/4; 13.96sec, 100-0; 36.64m.
Wow, the Ultimate Red colour looks magnificent on this updated i30 N-Line sedan, also aided by your great photography. It looks much, much, better than what I was expecting. The Hyundai Australia website configurator does not do this colour any justice at all; it looks absolutely woeful on the website. The new look front end looks fantastic, it has the hint of Audi with it. For the price and its performance the N-Line appears to be a great proposition.
Love my pre facelift, handling is great and fun car to drive. I get great economy normally in winter for backroads low 6lt or on the hwy heading to Melbourne I get mid 5lts I have done as well as 4.8lt And then can have lots of fun at roundabouts
Same here bro.. I also love my pre facelift one.. Fuel economy is remarkable if u drive gently or can take out power when it’s required from the engine.. I have set mine to Kms per litre and it gave me bit more than 20 kms to a litre by driving from Melbourne to Lorne Beach… I was very much surprised to see such a fuel economy of this car… I could be reacting more excited bcoz i was not expecting such fuel efficiency.. I am not sure like how much it does to a litre of petrol.. To mention that i always use 98 Octane in my car… Does high grade fuel makes a difference in fuel economy as well ???? This is really a fun to drive car at this price point… A Great Product By Hyundai So Far !!!! Looks are Gorgeous as well according to my Opinion…. Cheers…
@@yadwinderpurewal6823 hey that’s brilliant, glad you love yours and enjoy the excellent economy and how much fun it can be taking off and on the roundabouts 😉. I just drove from just near Pakenham all through Melbourne and back drive down was 5.3lt per 100km then 6lt for the drive home with traffic. All the while having fun at times putting the boot in from time to time. I use 91 octane normally I get 700km to a tank of mixed driving
@@davidrushton3122 700 kms to a tank !!! That’s a lot bro… Really good to travel that much in a tank… On tank full my display shows something aroud 535 kms.. I haven’t calculated fuel consumption manually by calculating figures ever… Yours is N Line, Yeah Bro ???
When the first Ford Sierra came out, they called it the jelly mould shape. Over the years this shape has changed a bit. But where it is now has become generic. I picture some company churning out the same mould and selling them to all the manufacturers. You have to get close enough to read the badge before you have a clue what it is. Same as the colour with black accents. One in all in. Everything and everyone is expected to confirm. Individual's need not apply.
That’s probably a bit dramatic for this. Economy cars were much more conservative through the 2000s and 2010s. Hyundai is one of the few automakers with an out-there design for a mainstream category. The German and Japanese car brands continuously pump out Golfs and Civics that barely look more exciting than its predecessor. Remember that this is the same Elantra nameplate that used to be a rental car, they’re going decently for a reasonably priced car. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t, some people are saying this car looks too radical and will age less gracefully.
Hello @@perpetualgrin5804 , The previous version "N-Line" sedan model came with a manual. With this update, Hyundai Aust' decided to go with the DCT only, dropping the manual. Thereby, unfortunately, need to spend the extra and go for the "N" to have the manual experience.
Good point. About 0.5sec slower than the Cerato GT according to our tests. I think the Cerato has a sharper tune for the DCT, as it seems to shift quicker and it gets off the line a bit quicker. In saying that, this is a bit smoother to drive. In-gear acceleration is pretty much identical as well I reckon.
If it was RWD, you’re looking at less power to the wheels, more weight, less interior space, less economical. AWD just makes this even worse and then saps all of the fun out of it
@@davothegreat9990 Generalistically, sure. This is about a cheap small economy car though. The platform has shown it can easily handle well over 200kW and provide a fun and engaging drive. Moving to RWD or AWD won't provide really any advantages, it will just heap loads of disadvantages per my previous comment.

We don’t get this version in America sadly. In the USA, cloth/leather mix seats and no air vents in the rear.

What was the issue with DCT?
Lol how fucking hard are you on it? I had a 2021 and have a 2024 now and I haven't had any problems.
That's why I wish there was a manual version , and I hate how slow they are right off the mark
it's a shame they dont offer this anymore in manual. i was ready to buy it... :(
