climbing into weird spots used to be interesting, i remember doing that in that chinese map with the castle in the middle pre 1.0. It's kind of sad how aggressively they clamp down on fun things that have a marginally detrimental impact on the game (climbing, team damage, all chat, shit talking); while they have ignored things like clickers, wheelers, grossly unbalanced teams, OP tanks and trash tech tier tanks for years. Facing a 279e is 1000 times more common and more frustrating than getting shot from a weird spot by some autist who spent 5 minutes getting into position.

Exactly lol, idk why we cant use terrain to our advatage. There is like milion hulldown positions which are more op than any of old climbs.

use a Strv as a ramp and jump on him with an EBR. just a suggestion never did climbing before so idk if it works
Wont work because tank corpses are very slippery
The problem with the strv is the hitbox, like every tank it's got a boxy collision model that you need to clear the top of before you can actually mount and ramp off the tank
@@JoshRiolu there has to be a position and a tank that can be used as a ramp. Again, I dont know about climbing, so I'm just speaking from what I know from playing the game and watching youtube
it works but u need a little ramp before strv
@@raimundo116 i doesn't work whined you ram it and hope for ramp, you will get damaged si it doesn't work, it will stop you. But if you position the strv behind some small bump, then kinda jump on it, it will work

They should add no-invisible wall maps for training rooms.
There should be intentional climbs on maps. With how important armor is, it would give a new avenue of attack for lightly armored/fast tanks to flank. Not to mention climbs add a new layer of knowledge/skill to the game.
Bring back climbs
I'm going to grind Udes just for that. Climbing miss me so much, I can't miss such an opportunity !
(This 1.4 update killed me.... I had so much fun doing climbs and searching for new one's... I can't describe the mixture of satisfaction and happiness the discovery of a new climb gave me 😥)

I think that you need more than 1 tank to do it. As you said. One of then is making a stop for another one to turn around and I think they do it on right side where you were proposing stoping on rocks. One of udes just climb on this free-standing rock in water and other one is using him as a ground elevantion so he can literally do it. You can also try to make maus bridge. Like drown a 20 mauses and make a bridge to safely go do k1

@@unpopulardude1188 1 udes can make it. For proof, go to the video where there are 2 udeses, search for chems's comment, find the creator of the video reply, click on the link in that reply. If i havent messed up any of these instructions there should be a 3 hour long stream by the same guy, and in the end of that stream you can clearly see you can do that climb with only one udes. Ill just quickly go check if i said everything correctly

I can make it to that little "beach" at the bottom of the cliff no problem, but I dont understand how they crossed the water trench. UDES, even in fast mode, drowns too quickly to even get to the shallower regions.
Edit: This man provides an insight in to how boosting was done in 2018 (looks like the route they took), but I can not get up the little incline on the island that he easily went over. this reminds me of the good old days, back when you could climb anywhere and everywhere. Or back BEFORE the new physics were introduced, and you could have a line of maus / E 100's pushing lighter tanks up cliffs... I miss those times. I stopped playing PC WOT in favour of blitz, as it's more like the old days of WOT. It has it's own issues, but it's more fun than PC WOT nowadays, imo
same - and blitz team actually approves this climbing more or less by adding secrets at some spots - but they patched some spots unfortunately...
chems what if you try piling a bunch of dead Mauses or type 5s to make a bridge to drive across
Driving on top of wreckage is hard, you have no grip and under water it won't be fast enough to make it before drowning
@@Cookie_RiskItForABiscuit if you put dead tanks in a shallow part you might be able to go above water
I don't really know how does the mod show you the invisible walls because the game engine runs on the server so the hitboxes coordinates are on the server too
maybe they modify client so they can see the walls in replays and than make texture pack on maps or idk
@@kokosakkokosak6142 the problem is that the hitbox coordinates are on the server and you can't get that very easily
@@joeldanter8542 yees but if it works how i think than they will need some texture for the invisible wall its like rock you cant go through same for the wall so there must be some texture to change in the client to see that wall but it isnt that easy its like paintball mod if you know they just change textures if you know how i mean it
The climb is definetly possible and I'm pretty sure I'm close to getting it right. If I get it tonight I will stream it and post the link here. Only hint I'm giving for now is that you guys are taking the complete wrong approach. There are a few hints around, these guys are smart, they have made a really fun competition. Hopefully I'll be the one to win it ;)

It’s sad that console edition doesn’t have that first map (atf) and has maybe 1000% more invisible walls/ soap rocks than PC. For example: Mountain Pass. Used to be able to climb on all mountains, now invisible +soap rocks every where. Sad.

WOT without climbs is like GTA without easter eggs.
Ehhh. I loved climbing. Still have some screenshots. T95 at Sacred Valley on top of the mountains behind its base. Meds in the castle in the middle, TDs and LTs in the top corner with the hill village. The central mountain on Pearl River. Behind the airstrip on Airfield. Resp mountains on Mines. T67 on Windstorm hiding on top of a mountain behind the city using a 2D bush as a cover (an actual indestructible texture xD) or on the top of the highest mountain on the map, making you unable to effectively spot due to the height difference. Swamp on the rocks on one of the TD-hills. The castle on Mountain Pass near the bridge or the freaking T110E3 placed in C1 guarding the respawn. Abbey on the other side of the river or the hills separating the town from the valley.
That was so fun, even if 90% of them were useless in a real battle xD I miss it :C
And I don't mind them patching stuff, but not with invisible walls. Invisible walls feel like an insult to me :( TOO LAZY!
Can you plz reply to my comment? Where do you get the old maps from the game, for example in the nostalgia clip. I would like to get the old maps (3d models objs exactly), i want to modify them a little and render them like current maps
they did it again chems. cliff, theres a cool spot you can climb that doesnt really give an advantage since bushes dont cover it. so cliff got another spot

The drop at 3:30 on province, i once made it down to that little.beach in my t95. I had a maus push me up the ledge, and managed to make it to the shore despite the slow speed. I even have a screenshot from when i did it

Thought a bit and got some inspiraion from the comments. Since there were 2 tanks and only one made it, what if one of them was in the underwater ridge while the other jumped down the cliff from the spot you showed on freecam and hit him to boost him over.

Rock climbing was so fun while it was still more of a thing. Now we have to find the jankiest spots where you can no clip into stuff. Why did WG remove this dimension from the gameplay? They could have just had some maps where climbs were balanced for both teams.
