At this point i think smith honestly waltzes his way into an all time test team. Averages 58 in an era where the rest are struggling to breach 50. His number of centuries per matches is also astounding, and he's performed across conditions and against all types of bowlers.
All time yeah there might be some that argue but he probably has the highest peak ever. He’s easily in an all time test side, Bradman 3 smith 4. Argue about the openers etc.
@@marcuskelly4499 I used to think so. But now smith has not been his usual self for a couple years and his final average is likely to dip below 57. We can't honestly call him a lock for the ATG side when guys like sanga, Hammond, Barrington, sobers etc may have outclassed his avg.
@@BinaryRex18 Sanga, Hammond and Barrington played during periods of batting dominance. Your first comment was correct. The lack of others averaging 50 now (at least partly due to DRS) is telling. From 2017 to now have statistically been one of the most dominant periods of the ball over bat in Cricket's history.
Orthodox? I would say he is the opposite as he looks so uncomfortable some times but his record shows how effective it is to him. Yes he is one of the greats now but ......
After this innings he never looked comfortable batting. Had a sore wrist, didnt score much in the next three Ashes tests, had a forgettable ODI world cup, didnt do much in 2 home tests. Lets hope 2024, he finds his rythm again. 😭
His wrist is the main issue I guess Is isnt able to move his hand much towards his leg that's why he is getting lbw out Well, 5 out of 7 dismissals were catch outs because he tried to hit a boundary, the pitches were flat and he didn't wanna play like Kohli who played with sr of 80 till 40th over, he often wanted to accelerate right after playing 15 balls due to team structure
@@ROHIT-f6i1o I am not a Kohli hater, it's all on team structure Australian team was structured around hard hitting and destructive batters, no anchors. While India had Kohli as a proper anchor.
Used to be his hater for his unusual technique and crab like movements. But now I seem to observe his correct full face of bat and the beautiful flow of bat. He is a case study for cricket pundits, have to rework on the coaching manuals.
Wtc final century semi final century against India and fifty and 5 fifty plus score including two centuries in odi and test chokali is the foot of not even cricket just selfish barking dog

what a dumb comment. He is not going to score 100 in every match. Yea, he hasn't had a great WC, but that happens to every batsman.
