AWESOME trick for comparative advantage questions

Need a little help figuring out which country has a comparative advantage? Here is a trick that works every time. It’s called the quick and dirty. Remember, for output questions, you want higher numbers and for input questions, you want lower numbers. Remember, think of the quick and dirty as a way to double-check your answer. You still need to be able to calculate opportunity costs to find the terms of trade. Thanks for watching.

I was taking a class with a bunch of AP econ teacher at the fed this summer in St Louis. This method was brought up and the experts in the room did not think much of it. They said a lot of kids lost points because of it one year.

I totally agree. It should never be the primary way students should learn comparative advantage. It is a back up just to help students double check they got the right answer.
