just wanted to say that, in my experience, parents apologizing makes all the difference, so props to nick for doing that. it took my parents a long time to start apologizing to me and my little brother and, honestly, it makes all the difference when they do nowadays. thanks for sharing that experience nick!
Nick worries way too much about whether we’ll care or be interested by the content. Stop worrying! Those of us that have watched Tim for a while love the tangents and fun facts paths he takes us down. Let it happen when it’s organic! It’s magic
I love your “Hi Dad soup” moment, Nick! It’s the stories where you overcome obstacles that are the most heartwarming. And you are right, you are only human.
Nick, thank you so much for being transparent, and as someone who had a parent that could not or would not admit any wrong, this was a very cathartic thing for me to see! Thank you!
Good morning gentlemen! What a fabulous idea THAT TRACKS is. You work wonderfully with and off of one another and are entirely enjoyable to watch. I'd watch you talking about paint drying. Haven't missed an episode. Keep 'em coming! Tim, been watching you and Jen for many years. Nick, saw you in a cameo here and there with Tim but this arrangement just shines the light on you so much more and it's so worth it. THANK YOU BOTH!!!
You are human, Nick! It's definitely true - repairing your relationship after you responded negatively towards your child, that is what matters. Idk if it's specific to your life, but I know for my life with my 4 year old, it's breaking generational trauma. Good for you and your sons 💚
The 9/11 museum is a must for anyone that experienced that day’s events. ❤ You guys don’t have to preface the conversation by saying it’s “heavy”. Just talk about whatever the conversation goes to. It’s a very natural flow when friends talk. I like it, it’s very relatable to talk about singular events that most of us were alive for 💜 Just do your thing🎉😊
I was just at WDW at the end of January and the number 1 thing my husband and I keep bringing up about the trip is the crowds. A new park would really help spread people out more.
Love all the subjects covered. So fun to listen. Thanks Nick for talking about deep and real issues. And Tim’s humor is fantastic. You guys are a great combo.
I love the transparency. We, as parents, have those stressful moments all the time. The good times outweigh the bad, for sure, but those stressful times are gonna be there, and it's important to take accountability and ownership of your feelings and actions. ❤
Nick, I love your Hi Dad Soup moment. What an awesome bonding moment and lesson for your son. That adults make mistakes, that apologies are important - that they repair relationships, the mutual love and respect and forgiveness. While imperfect, that was perhaps a more beautiful and meaningful moment than a perfect one. Awesome.
I keep leaving comments because I relate so hard to everything you’re talking about 😂 I’m a mom of two boys, one is Jackson’s age and one is 2.5 years old. Regulating my emotions throughout these stressful years of toddlerhood is the biggest challenge of my life, truly. It’s been the biggest learning experience. Apologizing to my boys is huge, taking accountability for my actions is everything. My parents did not do that for me. Thank you for being so vulnerable, Nick!
Lol at Tim judging Nick for getting a beanie baby every time he went to the store when he was a kid, but him and Jenn buy Jackson a hot wheels every time they go to the store. 😂
My first memory of an event.. was when Reagan got shot. I was nine. I had seen him at Sea World during his campaign tour.. so it really freaked me out a bit. I did watch the Challenger tragedy from my backyard in Palm Bay....just south of Cape Canaveral. I was 14..I was a nerdy little space geek. I was greatly impacted. My best friend had met all of the astronauts.. because her father worked for NASA. She was inconsolable. I was 30 on 9/11. Mom to a 9 year old and a 6 year old at the time. I absolutely knew in that moment that our world had just changed forever. 💔
I love this podcast so much. Its become a Monday highlight for me. Regarding Beanie Babies....as a 90s kid, I WAS OBSESSED! My mom still has a stash of them sitting in my old room in this giant basket and every time I visit, the sight of it just makes me laugh so much. My favorite was this pink poodle named Bridgitte. She was my girl
Great episode ❤ I mainly listen on Spotify while I work and been loving it so far 💕 I had a couple of beanie babies, I think the one I played with most often was a pink cat named Carnation after the flower of the same name, I remember having either the pink, lavender and mint bunnies maybe I had all three, we had a husky one, and a kangaroo and I’m sure there’s others but I can’t remember but I definitely remember those ones for sure in my childhood 😅
I’ll be 33 in March! Love Nicks cultural references…I relate to them all! Also have a 3mo old boy so I appreciate hearing his perspective on parenting from the dad’s side. Great podcast Tim and Nick!
When I’m having a bad day your podcast always makes me laugh! Also was pretty impressed with my football knowledge to the questions nick was asking Tim!
Thank you Nick for being real and vulnerable about the challenges of parenting. Very relatable! Tim- Our son who is a couple of weeks younger than Jackson has tube surgery coming up too!
Hey guys - great show! Love the chatty dynamic… we call them chickens in our house when we go off track. Thanks for sharing your story Nick! We are humans We Will makes mistakes ! You hit the point straight on when you “ checked yourself “ and apologized ! We appreciate the show. Thank you 🎉
In relation to Nick, snapping at his son; I have a five-year-old child and there are moments where things have built up during the day, and I have snapped. I’m not proud of it. The key thing is recognizing that you snapped and apologizing. My five year-old has the mentality of an average eight-year-old very bright ahead of her age, recognizes that it wasn’t directed at her. The key to being a good parent is owning up to your faults, apologizing for them when necessary.❤
Literally snapped at my 7yr old while listening to you talk about snapping! But actually was a nice reminder to apologize & reset. We both benefited from you opening up Nick ❤
Thank you for your transparency with parenting 🙏 I only have two cats, but they are my fur babies and sometimes I feel ridiculous for snapping at them. And it also helps me understand why my parents have snapped at me in the past when I was little ❤️ I appreciate you all and your beautiful family's! Stay safe and great job!
I was listening to ur “hi dad soup” moment Nick, and I understand what u are saying about not being on time to anything. I always say “it’s a Cuban thing.”
The beginning of this episode hit me deep a little. I lived in Brooklyn when 9/11 happened, probably 15 minutes away from the World Trade Center. I was too young to understand what was going on, but I remember everyone panicking and getting us out of school when it happened. Absolute craziness that day and just so intense, especially not being 27 and knowing everything.
For feedback purposes- I love the longer podcasts (90 min-ish,? I put this on while I do my yoga and the timing works out perfectly. Keep up the great work! ❤
Oh my goodness, that intro. Had only one beanie, during their height, it was a gift. It had something to do with the Marines. But now I have a few. Those big eye ones. 😊
my first historical event that I remember is Sandy Hook. I live in CT and was in 5th grade. I remember the teachers all meeting in the hallway and trying to figure out if they should tell us what happened just an hour away. Parents were calling all of their kids out of school and all of us were very scared not knowing what was happening. I will never forget it.
Nick and Tim you guys are great dads. Not many people are able to pull back as well as you did. Remember you are human and kids learn from your good and normal moments. I am aging myself but my first historical memory is Watergate
The first historical event I remember is the MOON LANDING. I was under my mom’s kitchen table, watching our black and white television in San Francisco. That was far out. I remember the Challenger Exploding because my relatives best friend was Christa McAuliffe, the astronaut teacher. She was the substitute teacher and she watched the shuttle explode with Krista’s class. A massive tragedy.
I think it's important to let kids see you struggle in those moments. In that moment your kid sees you having the same problem he is, he sees you stop, take a breath and get yourself together for the both of you. You modeled how to handle a stressful situation even if you didn't start off that way. That's SUCH and important lesson, far more important than getting it right the first time. Kids put you up like a superhero make you feel like you HAVE to live up to their image of you. But, you don't learn anything when you get it right all the time and they don't either.
My daughter and I collected Beanies and we still have them. We have hundreds of them. We have Maple from Canada and bears from other countries. We use to trade beanies and beanie cards. So fun to know you collected too Nick!❤
Challenger was the first major historical event I remember as well. I was writing a paper about the teacher on that space mission, Christa McAuliffe, at that time and was very invested in the launch.
For 9/11 I was in elementary school, we were in recess and I remember we were in our classroom into the late evening waiting for our parents to pick us up while watching the news.
I wish you guys could’ve heard the commercial that came on right after Nick said we were running late the commercial so dramatically DUN DUN DUN… 😂 such a relatable moment! Seriously so so relatable so don’t beat yourself up, kids can PUSHHHH those buttons 😅 but it’s apart of both of our growing process ♥️🥹 LOVE THE PODCAST GUYS!!!
12:42 Just some extra clarification for anyone interested. Based on Nick's description, I believe he is referencing "They Shall not Grow Old" a World War I doc by Peter Jackson . Absolute must watch! The footage remastering is jaw-dropping.
Oh my gosh! The Beanie Baby Craze I fell for it and spent so much money on them, it was loads of fun at the time,no regrets but sad they aren’t worth the big money!! So glad Tim brought them up.
I love your podcast and I think you guys are awesome together! I believe that when it comes to Disney World and Disneyland they both need better merchandise like what Tokyo Disney has.
Nick my daughter and I were at Disneyland in 2023 during Star Wars night. While we didn’t go to the event itself we watched the fireworks from our Hojo balcony and hyperspace mountain was SO fun
we had a group at work that collected beanies. we knew the UPS deliver routes and would hit the stores at lunch. I still have my beanies babies. i stopped getting them around 2005 when they changed the style. my favorite are the bears.
I have a LOT of non proud moments with both my teen boys and we always talk it out, with both sides apologizing at the end. I think as parents we have to both teach and learn along side ours kids. It will make them better humans as adults I feel. 🤞🏻
My first real memory is Live Aid 1985... I remember watching Queen on the TV and how amazing it was but it was the first time I also found out that there were people in the world starving and I was so sad. I was 5 years old then

I was THRILLED with your Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce talk!! You guys were adorable talking about it and football! So cute! So you were wrong, Nick. People were not bored about that discussion!❤ Love you guys and hope you do have a Swiftie party and watch The Eras Tour movie together! BTW, I'm almost 69!
Highly recommended the 9/11 museum! Bring the tissues and spend a few hours going through everything. I was in 3rd grade when it happened but being a child my parents didn’t let me see all the news coverage etc. wasn’t until recently I watched the One Day in America series about 9/11 on Disney plus. Very intense but well constructed documentary.
In regards to Disney World not having anymore land to build on - when I visited the DVC office in 2013, they told me that Disney actually has a lot of land and as of 2013, they had only developed on 10% of the land they own. Just wanted to slip this in the comments. Love the podcast!
Hey Tim and Nick, just wanted to say, in order to see what things actually sell for on eBay you have to filter the results and click sold items. People list things for a ridiculous amount of money. There are some serious disparities in pricing once you switch to sold items. Sometimes you even have to check the ones that sold for higher prices, you'll notice that the item is 9 times out of 10 relisted when you click on the sellers profile which means they never received payment. I love your “Hi Dad soup” moment, Nick! It’s the stories where you overcome obstacles that are the most heartwarming. And you are right, you are only human.
I love when you guys just talk and don’t worry about an itinerary!
Nick, thank you so much for being transparent, and as someone who had a parent that could not or would not admit any wrong, this was a very cathartic thing for me to see! Thank you!
Love the podcast! Just fyi TriBeCa is just a neighborhood in Manhattan. The 5 boroughs are Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island.

Disney posted a TikTok this morning announcing Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is coming this summer! Nick called it 😂
I love the transparency. We, as parents, have those stressful moments all the time. The good times outweigh the bad, for sure, but those stressful times are gonna be there, and it's important to take accountability and ownership of your feelings and actions. ❤
I loved every conversation on this episode! Thank you! I wish you all a wonderful week.
Best episode yet, I was laughing so hard at the Superbowl conversation. Keep trackin fellas
Tim, I’m loving the opening tag lines. It’s one of my favorite parts. Love y’all both and so thankful you started this podcast!

Nick! You handled the rough moment like a CHAMP! Way to go, dad!
Nick, you taught your son take ownership of how your emotions can effect others and when to apologise. That is a wonderful thing to teach him ❤

My favorite beanie baby was the Millennium bear!!! It had iridescent stars all over it! I love watching this podcast!!!
I had SO many beanie babies! I loved the purple platypus 😂💜
I always wanted that one.... ;)
I was in the library at school watching the Challenger launch. 4th grade. I remember such sadness.
You guys are great! Lots of laughs!
I about died laughing when Nick pronounced it, "Queen Ameedala" 😆. Totally caught me off guard too lol.

It would be great if you did an episode where the older kids guest for a few minutes.
I love to listening Nick it’s cool and it’s open my mind more funny and cool too
I love your podcast and I think you guys are awesome together! I believe that when it comes to Disney World and Disneyland they both need better merchandise like what Tokyo Disney has.
Probably my favorite beanie babie is Spinner the spider. I have him sitting on my dashboard so he can go with me everywhere.

Firsties….ish! 4am here on west coast, kismet to be up when this posted!❤
I was obsessed with all the beanie babies! I have about 10,000 out in the garage 🤣
Also, nick and I must be almost the same age - everything he says resinates with me.
As a member of the African American community, THANK YOU 🙏
I have a LOT of non proud moments with both my teen boys and we always talk it out, with both sides apologizing at the end. I think as parents we have to both teach and learn along side ours kids. It will make them better humans as adults I feel. 🤞🏻

I hope to run into you, Nick, during your trip to DL! Currently living in LA and get to go to DL kind of frequently!
TriBeCa stands for “Triangle Below Canal”. Which is the shape of the streets make below Canal Street in Manhattan.
“Aren’t her eras just her albums?” 🤣 Exactly, Tim.
The backwards motion sickness nick feels…. He’s not alone with that. I’m the exact same way with those two specific rides.
nick, i also had the princess diana beanie baby! i wouldn't say i was a collector but i had quite a few beanie babies. i'm also so fascinated by WWII - i went to a concentration camp in germany about 10 years ago and it was such a humbling, emotional thing to experience.
also, i love IP attractions! 🤷♀ & the football talk 😂
1900 parkfare is reopening!!! Yesssssssss
Also butter pecan reminds me of my grandma 😂😂😂
I definitely collected beanie babies growing up. This generation's version of beanie babies is squishmallows. My daughter and all her friends have so many!
I truly enjoy the podcast and my Mom collected beanie babies. She ended up giving them to her great twin granddaughters but I kept two of them. Princess Diana and 100 years of Flight bear beanie baby.
Great podcast
I collected Beanie Babies because I worked at a gift shop that sold them and that was all the craze then. Spent my hourly wage on those” cute things.” Fuzz the bear or Diana was my favorite
The 9/11 bear bit made me made me laugh because of how Tim simply moved on
I collected Beanie Babies and still have a majority of them. Some of my favs are the kiwi bird, Scorch the dragon, the butterfly, etc.
TOTALLY collected Beanie Babies (90s baby here) I loved Kicks the green bear with a soccer ball on its chest and also Puffer the Puffin
Zingy is the flavor sensation that in the venn diagram of ingredients where ginger and citrus cross over... helping you out Nick. 😅
Yay for Butter Pecan! My dad always chose butter pecan ice cream when I was a kid, I never liked it til my thirties 🤷🏻♀️ Now it’s my favorite 🎉❤
When the challenger happened, I was in high school, and they came on the intercom to tell us
In regards to Disney World not having anymore land to build on - when I visited the DVC office in 2013, they told me that Disney actually has a lot of land and as of 2013, they had only developed on 10% of the land they own. Just wanted to slip this in the comments. Love the podcast!

Challenger was the 1st big news event I remember. I was in 3rd grade
