i do so much background work, i really enjoy it. Because, you see yourself a lot in the TV series or movies. Just keep going my friends, it is long journey but worth it)
@@courtsmov thank you! It's opened other doors for me as well, such as being casted in front camera roles. Tv commercials and online ads. All through word of mouth with casting. Enjoy it! Could lead to more. And hey, it's easy good paying work! All the best!
@@chadmarkz4334 thanks chad!! I think I’ll be getting back into it for the busy season here in Vancouver! It’s all about who you know eh! See you on set friend 😎
I just finished 2 days of an M. Night Shyamalan produced movie and the directors Celine and Logan were so awesome..they put me in a boat with a key actor..just me and him and a stunt driver...I would have done it for free. Amazing and I saw him piss off the end of the boat. lol Oh and there were Helocopters...Now I want to be a full time background actor.
Hey courts, not sure if I spelled that right but, I was wondering where I can find background work? I live in Bethlehem PA and I googled it but I find no clear answer where to find background work in my area
Hi friend! I’m not sure about PA! But you’re close to New York and I’m certain there’s agencies that will contract you out to work closer in your area! And if you work out of a background agency in New York you’ll likely get more work more often- try central casting New York!
What are some great Beginner Acting Courses in BC? I want to start but i dont know how? Like to get an agent they have high expectations and i need more tips!
If you’re in the lower mainland there are SO many schools to attended but it shouldn’t be hard to find an online class either- I would suggest starting with a scene study class or an audition class! These will both be great to get some scenes on tape to show an agency.
being fat doesn’t mean you can’t be an actor! I am definitely not the conventional hollywood beauty but there are roles for everyone!! I encourage you to step out of your comfort zone and explore 🤍✨ you got this
My concern knowing I’d definitely have to travel for jobs is not know how long I’d have to be there for or if they’re gonna pay for hotel fees. There was one job I was looking at that paid for the transportation to the state they filmed in. But it didn’t say how long you’d be there for and if housing was provided while you’re there. I don’t want to potentially book a job to later find out I’m going to have to stay longer than imagined and work out a hotel situation. I just want to know what to expect. I guess it’s different for each production maybe.
It’s definitely a production based thing- however if the project is union all of that should be 100% covered !!! If it’s a non union or indie film definitely expect to run into those hassles. It’s ok to confirm all that with your rep before accepting a job! They’d understand. 😊😊
hey Courts! fellow BG'er and RUclipsr here. So freakin true about watching BG now LOL. Some are so good and some not so much :P p.s. Some personal info shows on your voucher so you may want to blur it. I'm not sure if you can delete comments, but you can delete this if you like. Cheers!

No dear, it's NOT how you get your first credit with UBCP/ACTRA. You do need to get your first 15 vouchers to get A UNION NUMBER, NOT a credit. There are several ways to get your first credit: Get 1500 hours on set. You need to track your hours and give proof to the union. This can only work for your FIRST credit. OR Get picked to say a line while already on set and get an actor upgrade OR Audition and book an acting role on a unionized show. OR Some specific colleges or university programs can get you your first credit ( ask the union for which ones) So much more to cover but I'm on set so that's all for today.
availability is all background asks of you- if you fit the look and have the time you will book the gig! If you're talking about more direct work on camera you'll either be upgraded on set to be in a specific shot or you'll need to get an agent and start auditioning for those roles!

Have you ever tracked your steps on one of these days where you are walking on set for 12 hours???
Katlyn Sproule this is an important question
Yes but they are surprisingly low bc there is a lot of sitting and waiting before actually working.

What union do you recommend in Vancouver bc I just got my first gig so as Bg so just wondering
There’s only one union here UBCP/ACTRA but if you were to work in the states you could join their unions too
Which episode of Riverdale did you play?
One of their musical episodes
I got paid $16.50 for the good doctor S4. Great crafty on the good doctor!

Lol the LÁ of Canada! Vancouver ! And I do have an agent 😊
Can you take pic with the actors?
Unfortunately no! It’s their place of work- not a meet and greet. It’s best to stay professional 😊

@@kidflipper1505 My apologies, in that case I believe as a BG actor you need a guardian on set and your work day is limited to 8hrs legally.
