I also think Arrtx is the superior affordable marker. They choose better shades for their sets overall and have taken care to design high-quality packaging that makes the markers more beautiful and also easy to use. To me, it doesn't matter if they have refills available because Copic refills are everywhere and cost $.50 more than Ohuhu refills. The lack of deeper tones is notable in this set, but I have to wonder if those are already available in the main set, which I think we're supposed to buy first. Thanks for making the direct comparison that so many other creators seem afraid to make.
Great review thank you so much!!! I have only the Ohuho set. What I did with the more orange tones is use them as the highlight tones for flowers, the sun and such. :)
Ohuhu uses the bag because the sell the marker storage things separately. I am definitely leaning towards getting the big set of arrtx and the skintones from ohuhu
The misspelling on some of the Ohuhus is kinda hilarious, BUT...that and the font inconsistencies also kinda makes the company look a bit unprofessional. I can understand that mistakes happen and can sometimes be overlooked, especially when a product is mass-produced, but at the same time, it sort of makes it look as if they don't really care. Also, the packaging issue has been a thing with Ohuhu and several other companies that produce similar markers and I think they should know by now that we want better packaging. Few things annoy me more than not being able to keep my markers organized and tidy. I don't have marker cases, but when they come in bags with no inserts to hold them in place, I take them out of the bag and store them in a tote. I've tried a lot of weird inventions created by yours truly to organize my markers. I just can't afford to buy cases for all the markers, pens and pencils I own. And omg, have you seen the prices on some of the plastic and acrylic marker trays sold on Amazon and other retailers?! It's insane!!! Anyhoo, I guess I'll stick with my Caliarts for now. I've wanted Ohuhuhs for years, but I can only splurge every now and then and my most recent splurge for the 120 set of Polychromos has me feeling like I need to ease up on my spending for a bit. I'm happy though. Not to say we can ever have too many art supplies, but I have plenty enough to keep myself occupied. I do need a new set of gel pens though. If anyone has any suggestions for some good ones (maybe that come in a nice case) that are relatively affordable, I'm all ears! 😅
Yes! This exactly! Also, totally agree about the trays! The Aen Art gel pens are great for a large set. For gel pen embellishments, the Pentel Slicci are great metallic gel pens, and the super glitter gel pens from Arteza are my favorite glitter ones.
@@EmilyIllustrator Thanks for the suggestions, Emily! I'll definitely look into those. I've heard of them and probably seen reviews for them, but wasn't in the market to buy at the time. Slicci is such an interesting name and spelling haha! Thanks so much again! Hope you and your family are all doing well.
Just an update: Ohuhu has refills now (you can check their website), and afaik the typos on the color names has already been corrected 😊
I have both these sets also I actually use all my alcohol markers together. So I can have more of a selection in colors.
I think that’s the perfect solution!
Hi, the reason there are so many orange markers is probably because comic colorists (I used to color comics) use them for skin a lot!

Very underated video, been looking for something like this for a while. Thank you so much!
I’m so glad you liked it! 🥰

Beautifully done video. You’re really good 💕
Hi Emily, Wow you are a wonderful reviewer. FYI, Ohuhu does now have refills for about 50 of their colors and replacement nibs.
How stiff was the nibs on the arrtx markers? I am trying to decide between the two sets. Thanks!
Hello! I know this sounds odd, but could you please post a link as to where to find the Arteza brush portrait set?

Where did you get the practice sheet?
Link for that sheet is in the description. By the lovely Laura Rafferty.
I like the color names not numbers
