This happened with my dog as well. Just not 8 hours long, only about 2-3 hours. We say that our dog went on a joy ride because we tried getting him back but he was so fast he bounced on us quickly. When my dad was young he had a dog named skippy his uncle brought him across town which is basically a small city and he found his way back home!! So never again was his uncle left around the dog alone dogs like alligators and other animals have a honing system built in to them to find there way home. It didn't even take a day and skippy was back home!!

I had a dog who would run off he was a hunting breed by nature. He’s come back with a full belly and a smile on his face. One day we found him sunbathing on the front lawn waiting for us. 🤦🏻♀️

That dog has a lot of class . She was thinking about the neighbors . Most dogs would start barking if they wanted to go inside and they wouldn't care what time it is
Ive had my shih tzu, Rockey, for five years now. When he decided to go on an adventure around the neighborhood one day, my puppy who we just got ran after him. Rockey came home 10 minutes later but no Ninja. (Puppy). Went out and found him in the middle of the football field howling and crying. Poor babg

When my dad was young he had a dog named skippy his uncle brought him across town which is basically a small city and he found his way back home!! So never again was his uncle left around the dog alone dogs like alligators and other animals have a honing system built in to them to find there way home. It didn't even take a day and skippy was back home!!
