I see it as a form of mental abuse almost. The Dutch way is a lot better
I mean it's a bit more aggressive then shown here as far as i know. But the dutch basicly have a two part training similar to a short basic training, and then they take it slower for the more specialized training like the house raids etc shown.

Off course it's different strokes for different folks, and it helps to have someone to sort of antagonize a little bit. My brother was a drill sergeant for a while in the regular dutch army.

Good to point out... it's the Dutch who invented the "Mariner" thanks to our highly celebrated Admiral de Ruyter. He first used them on the raid in Chatham where the Mariners destroyed nearly the complete British fleet at anchor there. this was way before the USA was any world power.

It's wrong they don't shout because they want to see self motivated people. Shouting gives external motivation and on a tour there isn't someone to do that so it's picking out the weak.

I'm in the Dutch infantry, the Dutch Korps Mariniers is one of the hardest trainings in the Netherlands, sadly you didn't understand much of what they were saying.
Also they showed the most "easy" parts of the training, sadly.

@Dominus Providebit Yeah they are, I'm sorry. Their training is on par with the english, the gear that from the american, they train in Russia and the middle-east and receive their tech from China and Japan.
Not just that but they have a smaller groups of 'experts' that are a fuckload deadlier.
I'm not saying the dutch special forces are the number 1 in the world, but we're pretty high up there for a country with only a handfull of soldiers.

Dutchie here. NL Marines are indeed trained to do literally anything. We have to. Like you said, we are a smaller marine corps. If we get a call that we are needed in the arctic, we have to be ready. If we get the same call in the desert, we need to be ready. This need for diverse training and broad knowledge and experience is incorporated in all our infantry units. Even the regular infantry here gets mountaintraining and arctictraining. Our active duty is around 60k personnel right now. That is not a lot, but we are still highly respected and asked for in the world due to our need to adapt to literally anything. Great video man. Thank you for honouring our heroes

Dutch training is from what I understand always diverse, one day your crawling in mud with a light rain, the next month your making an igloo near the north pole, the month after that your buddy hands you a Tarantula while enjoying a view on the panama canal. (this all happened to a nephew of mine)

11:25 The Dutch military has a mindset where they differentiate between external motivation and internal motivation. If you do an obstacle course too slow and slack you get told to motivate yourself and give a 100% If you cant do that and need someone to externally motivate you you are not fit to serve the military.
A person who needs external motivation requires others to look out for him to function and only cleans his kit to not get screamed at by a sergeant.
Aperson who has internal motivation cleans his kit because he himself wants his kit to be clean.
Not saying its the best way to train but they do scream at points to ramp up tge stress but it gets less trough out the training.
If you believe in some Dutchland or a Dutch military? Yea all you can do is scream cos your delusional. They do not take those into any military.
But yes in the military teams are specifically selected to motivate each other and look out for each other. This is standard training in most militaries. And you are part of none of them obviously?

It really shows the marine corps is for the mentally challenged.
The documentary ’De Uitverkorenen’ is funny to watch, “a bit” of jelling of the Corporal (son of a great Dutch Marine father) against marine Schol is great ... however, almost only filmed in the dark. It gives some ideas of the ‘not romantic side’ of the training courses ... but personally I do not think you see all aspects of the training properly! But okay, it is fun to watch. A great day! QPO
I like how there is an absense of cadaver techniques that are commonly used in the USMC, with drill instructors yelling and screaming and tearing. Whereas these guys are a bit more relaxed, but still manage to produce very excellent young Marines, ready to walk through fire for each other.

so you know they use rubber guns because in the first 3 weeks most of them already fall out. and lessons in guns still take time, that is why they use rubber guns at the beginning, but this is really a great channel.
good idea. weed out the weak ones with the rubber guns. reduce cleaning hours and focus on training. i can see that making sense. if they cannot do the basics why have them cleaning for hours a day. i like it.

The name korps mariniers might suggest that it's similar to the usmc. Many Americans think that. But in reality the korps mariniers are special forces which makes them more similar to the navy seals than the usmc. This was just the basic training and after this those guys train all over the world in different climates.
My unit had different encounters with those guys and they were always very professional.

All wrong, the only "Special Forces" in the Netherlands are the Netherlands Maritime Special Operations Forces (NL MARSOF) (yes they are a part of the Korps Mariniers, But not all mariniers are Special Forces.), Korps Comando troepen (KCT) (Army) or the Brigade Speciale Beveiligingsopdrachten (BSB) (Marachaussee / Military police)

Hey, before I start: My apologies, english is not my native language. That would be dutch followed by german. So if there is some weird grammer and strange typo's down the line you'll know why that is.
The dude in the beginning (recruit Zonneveld) getting a talking to was probably put in charge of a march. He's getting asked why their unit fell behind the other one, while they were on point in the morning. (He has no excuse "we had a bad march seargant")
The guy in the woods (sitting on the chair with what I believe to be a twisted ankle) says he doesnt know what happend and will check into the field hospital. His DI on the other hand tells us that no, not just that, he'll go recover and then also be re-assinged out of the marines. (Because he basically is not making any effort to be otherwise useful to the unit)
The patrole at 21:39 is training to power through sleep deprivation. And the guy at 22:23 has been awake for aprox 90+ hours. And this continues a while, the recruits digging the bunker are also extremely sleep deprived. (That is also what they talk about) The DI tell's us after that scene that once you are in a state of extreme sleep depriviation it is of upmost importance to still check up on your buddies and mention things/problems you notice and to help each other out in every circumstance.

He fell asleep, together with his buddy. The DI adresses the other recruits with "Yeah, you can laugh it up that these two (morons) are lazy. But it is as much your fault, as you did not check up on them"
After the ambush, which I assume they did good on, they get rewarded with 4 hours of shuteye.
25:43 Yeah, that is indeed the point of the exercise. Get the blood pumping, adrenaline flowing and hands a bit shaky before firing. (The guy talking before and after that scene tells us he has a problem with shaky hands when doing this exercise but is gradually getting better)
28:29 He's getting chewed out for what I assume was a bad performance. Slacking off, maybe complaining that it's too tough? Instructor: "This is your core buisness! This right here! This is what you have to love! You gotta do better!"
As for the guys with the weird outfits on, could be that this was filmed around the dutch "carnival". If I remember correctly a lot of training happens in the province of North Brabant where that is a big thing. Might be confusing that with the Corps Commando Troepen though. One of them got their training facility in Roosendaal. Or maybe just a weird party tradition.
The final march is 25km (15.53 miles) in full gear. (Personal gear + specialised/group gear)
In conclusion: The video you watched scratches only the surface of their ordeal to become a marine and is actually pretty tame. This is a recruiting tool kind of vid you'd see shown in orientation at recruitment offices and highschools. They are not to keen on showing off most of their training. And from what I saw here, this is just the basic. After receiving their barret they get send all around the world to train in all kinds of conditions. (As stated in their motto "Qua Patet Orbis" - "As Far as the World Extends")
Anyway, loved the video and your thoughts on it. Keep doing what you do!

but would recommend to watch with subtitles, as you missed alot, or mis-interpurated points as they were in dutch. ( Yes, English is almost a second language for us Dutchies, but US people dropped the dutch language quite fast, though our history :P

I've visited the Dutch Marine museum. Very impressive. They have supported the USA in several conflicts throughout history. Proud to call them my brothers.

Old Dutch Marine here, I can remember the landings at Texel/North sea in February, during wintertime. It was so bloody cold that I had problems with my legs muscles for over 15 years later. Always had pain. Good times. I love the Dutch Marines. May be, we are not the best in the world, but for sure, the most purest ones, we have history. Marines and the Netherlands are a monument. I also love the USMC, Semper Fi!

Most of the man have short sleeps of a few minutes in between, sometimes 8, 10 minutes. Without these most of them wont make is 4 days without any minute sleep.

The thing everyone seems to be missing in the link between the RM and the Netherlands KM is that the old history of them both as elite soldiers is important, yes, but the _modern_ history is that the RM became commandos during and post WW2 and the modern Netherlands KM are closely based on those Royal Marines Commandos. The relationship between the Brit and Dutch marines today is very close and one of mutual respect.

Actually the Dutch Koninklijke Mariniers are indeed modelled after the British Royal Marines, but the British Royal Marines are modelled after Dutch guerilla's in South Africa called Boers. During his time in South Africa, Churchill was so impressed by their tactics and succes that it became that on which the British modelled their own forces. And so it becomes full circle...

02:00 I can only imagining marines using rubber rifles before they have had their weapons instructions. And during some sporting tests and self-defence training. I can't say for sure though. I was in the army and not the marines, but I can't imagine them doing it differently.
07:22 Them not wearing covers was very surprising to me too. In general, that's only allowed if it's very hot. But they also aren't wearing their covers at night...
08:00 I hated that foregrip. I wasn't allowed to even hold my rifle wrapping most of my fingers around the rifle as if the foregrip was one of those fancy short slanted ones. I don't know why they were so dogmatic about things like that at our unit at least.

As a dutch sergeant in the Dutch special forces (nlmarsof), these colleagues did a great job in their basic training. For an awnser to your question about holding their firearms, they can choose which way is the most comfortable, and the marines don’t have to wear a cover during marching, but that is the choice of the supervisor of the men.

At 10:00 you asked about what the guys flipping off on the pull up bars was. I'm not in the army but I'm a callisthenics athlete. That move is a beginner move called 'skin the cat' once you learn that you can progress to both 'front levers' and 'back levers' which are very good ways to train your core and shoulders with your bodyweight.
The foregrip has a bipod in it, it's actually pretty smart. Takes half a second to use.

I think you meant World War 1, this was literally trench warfare as that was the way of going to war during the time. Evolved from the old battles where you'd see lots and lots of people standing in line next to the enemies' troops, also standing in line and firing metal balls.

One of the reasons why military goes into the streets here is that our entire country fits 3 times in NY state... we don't have that much space. The military does allot of training in Norway, Germany, Belgium and other close proximity nations.

Not only that. The Dutch Department of Defense does this to be visible to the people, to show that the military is here. Since a few years it is also re-allowed to wear your uniform off-duty, for example when you are traveling to or from base. The government wants to show the human side of being a soldier/marine/whatever but it's also to set an example of yourself as you are wearing the uniform, people will be watching you so you better behave. It's also to make the military more approachable, for questions from civilians for example.
Lot's of reasons to do marching-training in the streets, one of them is indeed the lack of space, however there are plenty of area's in the Netherlands where you could do it but the feeling to march into base and seeing your family, knowing that you've finished the training, that is also a feeling that you wouldn't get by marching through the Veluwe after which you step on a bus to go back to Rotterdam.

The finex finishes on the " van ghent kazerne" wich is a symbolic base from world war 2. The dutch marines in Rotterdam (from the "van ghent kazerne") held the Germans off until they had to surrender. After the second world war the "base" became a symbolic location for training the marines or any specializations training, but that is why a few kilometres of the finex go trough the city.

The threat of this happening to Amsterdam and The Hague is what finally convinced the Dutch government to surrender. The first Dutch Marines were the Batavi who fought with the Romans. Capable of swimming with their horses over the Medway river in a surprise flanking maneuvre against the Cantiaci. This branch is way older. The Roman Invasion of Britain 43AD The Battle of the Medway.
Dutch military has had severe budget cuts.. There was a point where even training with blank rounds was a problem.
The Dutch marines are quite specialized and the requirements to join are higher then for example the US marines.
But people have to understand a major difference.
The Dutch marines are part of the Navy branch, they are with only around 2000 guys i believe.
Compare that to a US Marines which is a branch on its own with tanks and a fucking air force.
If you only have 2000 slots to fill you make sure those 2000 count and while im not impressed by the videos put out by the Dutch military I am sure these guys are up to the task.
Long ago, even the Dutch marines had tanks. They had some units equipped with M4 105mm Shermans. :)
But you're right, the budget cuts were disastrous. No ammo, no tanks, no Orions, barely any howitzers or frigates and indirectly caused the bankrupcy of the Netherlands' last submarine builder. With elections coming next year (and some parties already letting us know their opinion of the armed forces), I'm pessimistic about the future.

Definitely the smaller the unit the more diverse training options. Stationed with the smaller airborne units in the US Army we trained jungle, artic and desert all the time because of our anywhere in the world in 18 hours mission sets. The smaller and more elite the units get of course the more training dollars you receive, and the more deployments also. Rarely stayed home more than 5 months every year and lived the deployment life. Looks like these pups are all newbies and are doing initial training. Respect for all those that serve and live the lifestyle. Great respect for our NATO partners, they are doing their part and some are superb.

While I'm glad to see these boys taking the initiative to do something that most won't... they strike me as a bit lax, like they're making it up as they go. I don't see any sense of urgency, as though they don't take it seriously. I'll admit that it takes guts to do what they're doing. After all, they don't have to what they're doing. But being "elite" should garner a most serious attitude, which I'm not feeling from this group. However, I could be gravely mistaken. God bless them. They are there, attempting to embrace "the suck". The Netherlands is known for their way with money, save as much as you can. Same goes for the militairy. The budget is low, even for missions. I spoke to some veterans who talked about it. To much bureaucracy in the Netherlands.
Yelling has no effects on Dutch marines like also with the Norwegian and the Swedisch troops. They are quiet people.

Yep, ceremonial marching right. And otherwise as fits best as we have quite some left handed people in our country but more important who use the left eye as the dominant one. Trying all learning to handle and shoot right arm and eye would mean some will fail and we already have not enough new recruits.

A couple of things that we commented/asked for. Weapons carried; WE (the RNLMC) carry our weapons the way we want, other than on parade obviously. the wearing of cover (head gear) is probably due to ventilation. When it is hot and you are jomping (marching tactically) you need to get rid of heat, that is how you do it. Your question as to the use of flash bangs, well when you are training your troops in the first instances, it is wise you go through the motions first, then you repeat repeat repeat. When they are Marines you can go to the next levels. Your question as to DI's standing there screaming their heads of in a rather demented fashion, well that really does not do it for us. Talk normally when you want to explain things, shout when they are loofing, but the US DI stuff of screaming the way they do, really is something that is rather demented and would not impress a great deal. The group punishment when guys are slow is what you see on the racks. They need to do pushups until the last bugger has done his flip. the weapons (rifles) are the Canadian C5 and C7 Dimaco with the crap .223 rounds. (I seriously dislike this calibre and can not wait to see this changed to the 6.5mm in due course) I think (and that is of years of experience as an SF Recon Marine, working with a great deal of US and other SF guys) is that the overall level of the "man" is better than a US recruit. His level of education is much higher and they are trained up to be deployable everywhere in the world, Arctic, Desert, Jungle and everywhere in between. Our cooperation has always been great with the USMC but indeed there are many differences to the man and their training. (I write the answers on my own title).
Sir, I would like to point out that the part of the video with the marines in the water with the rubber rifles was titled "Amphibian Introduction". It was their initial dip in the water. It is not indicative of the rest of the training regiment.
The monkey bar exercise, they have to do the exercise x number of times and anyone who finishes has to start doing pushups until the last person finishes. It's basically a mixture of a competition to finish first and the slower guys feeling bad if they take too long. It's an exercise representative of a group only being as strong as its weakest members. The weaker the weakest member, the more the rest has to compensate for it.
There's not a lot of shouting in the Dutch marines because it's considered a matter of personal and group responsibility. That particular guy might be slow across the balancing beam but he's keeping pace along the course.
I agree with you in terms of practice equipment. It's better to use actual equipment. Unfortunately the Dutch military is criminally underfunded. The result is as you can tell, not as impressive as it used to be. The guys do the best they can but our military has a lot wrong with it. It's a good thing we get along so well with our fellow Europeans nowadays. But I still think we should prepare for possible issues along the bigger picture.

The part where you said "When they let you patrol there should be a take-away" and "He just said digging trenches sucks" is all about sleep deprivation training.

Thanks for your (almost full) spot on assessment of our Marines. The video you used, is an "introduction" video, showing the "road" that people take to turn from a civilian, into a marine (To earn the baret).
* Obstacle course: It doesn't matter how fast he is taking the obstacle, as long as he makes the full course within the set time for it.
* Hair/shaving by the Sgt, telling stuff (with red-ish beard), that is *allowed* within our military. It is an actual "right", although you have to request it with a "VRA". (Just like ear-rings)
* Chow: Is pretty decent. Now it is even better than when I was with the army (1988 - 1994)
* The whole training is based upon: Get the group, check the group, and do it as a group. And they actually don't care how you wear your cap/helmet, as long as you get the job done, you are fine. Only one rule: If one is without, all go without. If one goes with, all go with.
* All: Jungle, Desert, Artic, is what they do. They get all environments.
* Cross-dressing? That is just having some "bullshit-fun". Just to show off, who can be the biggest idiot of all. And yes, food is good!
* The base is actually in the centre of Rotterdam City, and that is where they walk towards. So, here, it's not a big deal.
* Boots: We get 2 pair of them :-)
* Rubber guns: We don't hand out guns to people who don't know what a gun is. Get used to the shape first, and learn what it can do, before you get your personal weapon. (Over here: If you walk around with a gun, pistol, without wearing an uniform, you get shot in the head by the police first, and then they ask you who you are. YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO CARRY as civilian!)
The last exercise is actually taking them hard work and really is the final test.
During the building of the "bunker", they are worked, to get sleep-deprived. And learn how to still function. And foremost: They learn how to get the job done. A little like our "pantser-engineers".
At 11 PagnCie, we looked like shit, but guess what: We were always the ones getting the job done. And that is why you see the "relaxedness" among them. Efficiency rules within our Marines, our Army and our Airforce. Specifically, thinking, sharing that with the group, doing it, making it happen, is what our military foremost get trained for. Sort of: You can put a monkey into an uniform, and teach it to stand straight. Might look amazing, but can he get the job done? That is why they are allowed to carry the gun the way is comfortable for them. That is why they don't look as exact copies of each other. Unless they have their Dress-Uniform on.

The instructor at the range was saying "This is your f*cking business! Here, this is what you're supposed to love doing!" I don't know what he did wrong, but he basically had to do better. And the instructor was kindly reminding him that he was doing the fun part of training.

Dutch Marines have a long and beautiful historie!
Screaming/yelling at recruits has its purpose from time to time. But acting like they never do anything right won't make them better soldiers. Better to scream when they actually do fuck up. Seeing they realised that in a marine corps is progress in my opinion. And maybe you can keep those 10 extra guys who aren't great but also not the worst. And see them become really good marines after some experience. Pretty important for a small corps like the RNLMC.
This unit were new recruits, it was an initiation more relaxed approach than the real thing.

You should watch another one, it's called "de uitverkorenen" . It's a much more realistic view of training.
The thing about the dutch defence is that politics have been cutting off their money supply for year and just lately they've gotten extra funds. That's why they probably don't use realy flash bangs and don't use their real gun for every situation since it'll cost extra money.
Thank you for giving attention to the dutch Marine Corps. I love your commands. but how did you get this film? It is not the real deal, not by far. Is it an enlistingmovie to get guy's to sign-up? Then they are in for a supprise! It is true that the NGO's don't yell. Yes, there are a lot of classes. But fysically you get worn out! The dutch Marine Corps is small. Only 2500 marines. They are very specialised in all kinds of warefare. the training is like the US Navy Seals. You don't see that in this film. A pitty and not comfirm reality. Still; nice to have some attention from the States.
Dutch Marine training is actually the longest basic training in the world for enlisted personnel, that's a week longer than Royal Marine recruits (UK). Image how skilled the special forces (NLMARSOF) must be.

KCT training is indeed tougher than training to become a marine. NLMARSOF training however is most likely tougher than training for the KCT, you could see NLMARSOF as our equivelant of the US Navy SEALS
Now I'm just going to throw out some educated guesses in regards to a few questions you had.
The entire course is more geared towards individual responsibility as opposed to drilling things. One of the guys said things are explained one time, and then you have to know it, no questions. That's pretty much spot on for the starting phase. To drive this home more, you have to earn the right to carry a real weapon, show that you know how to properly take care of one. And I'm pretty sure a side reason is a budget that isn't sufficient (goes for our entire military).
The reason behind the pull up bars is, I think, because our Marines get deployed on anti-piracy missions quite a lot, and having that type of coordination can come in handy. Then again, we already did it 17 years ago so maybe it's just one of those things! You are correct that it covers a much broader spectrum of training in a shorter period of time compared to what I know of (limited) the US Marine training. The training is build up in two stages. EMV (individual with buddy) and EVO (operating within a unit), both are currently around 15 weeks. Then you also get the specialties training such as (scout) sniper or frogman. The entire course used to be 24 weeks, it's been upped to 30 I think a few years ago.
The Marines also have Netherlands Maritime Special Operations Forces (NLMARSOF) which are their SF. There isn't much out there on them as even here in the Netherlands most people have no idea they fought alongside our Commando's in Afghanistan and Mali.
And I'd like to reiterate that I could be wrong on some, most, if not all of the things I tried to answer. It's been forever ago for me and I never wondered why we had to do the things we had to do. Also, I switched to the Army after my 4-year stint and that's where I spent the rest of my 11 year career.
Im not sure (not a marine myself) but i think you're right. Most of the "drilling" is done after basic training with the unit they were assigned to

The changed organization (from up high, down to individual fire teams) has had an impact on the course as well... For the rest you are spot on.
There is no such thing as a sniper in the dutch marine core. I've been there, asked for it when I applied, they told me: no such thing only SLA (long distance shooter) which is fundamentally different. I turned around and walked straight out the door and never came back, also never completed the sign up phase. Edit: I checked again and it seems to be there now but not sure if it's identical to the USMC snipers, seems that there is a difference but from what I've read the core tasks are the same.
I took the easy route: sports shooting.
@@meh8099 Back when I came up, the Marines did not have full on snipers, only sharpshooters (SLA). Only the KCT had snipers. But that has changed, the Marines now do have fully fledged snipers and even some of our Army infantry units now have them. I also never said sniper, I said (scout) sniper. ;-) And people confuse words, a "sluipschutter" is often seen as a sniper, just like with "sharpshooter" in English, when the two are completely different.
Pretty strange you walked out of the door, as becoming a "SLA" is the best way to eventually become a sniper. You can't just enter the sniper training course, that isn't how it works. You need to proof yourself first.
The Dutch army is joke, and the gouvernement don't even want to invest in the soldiers during exercise, or even in battle.
A few years ago the soldiers went on battle exercise, an they didn't even have ammunition.
Did you know what the Dutch minister of defense told them to do?
The minister of defense said: "When you are on a exercise without ammunition, just shout bang-bang when you shoot".
The Dutch soldiers also had to buy their own winter clothing going on a winter exercise in Norway.
These kind of events are unfortunally true, and not even a bad joke.
Even in the middle-east the Dutch U.N soldiers had to go to other foreign coalition troops to ask for ammuniton, because the Dutch gouvernement did not provide enough supplies to fight the enemy.
The Dutch gouvernement is a damn shame for the Dutch soldiers who do all the fighting.
Another fact: Two Dutch soldiers in Afganistan died, using faulty mortars that were rejected by the U.S army.
But nevertheless the Dutch gouvernement bought the faulty mortars to be used by the Dutch soldiers.
You know why?
To save money.
Buying rejected weapons to be used by your own soldiers, is nothing more than pure treachery by the Dutch gouvernement.
The Dutch soldiers can't even do their jobs overseas.
A Dutch prosecuter even wanted to convict a Dutch soldier for murder in the 1st degree, due the fact that a Iraki civillian was hit in the crossfire by accident.

opoXIous I disagree with you in the following aspects.
As a NATO, NBC Instructor I used to help train Dutch Army.
During conscription in the eighties the Dutch soldiers were terrible fitness,lack of interest, lazy, bunch of amateurs at best.
When conscription was ended in the nineties, and to a volunteers only, the soldiers were 100% better, switched on, keen, fit, and more intelligent.
Mind you the Dutch Marines were always the best( remember train hijackings)
Today they are as good as the British Royal Marines, and if the latter do not get a grip will be left behind.
when do they get deployed and where? The Dutch govt. is very anti-military and anti-war. They used to have large colonies in the East Indies. They may feel guilty for having enslaved so many people decades ago. Remember the Dutch East Indies company--they had their own private army.
In the 70ties our soldiers also had long hair. Not in the Korps M. It was the time the left were in power and those idiots thought it would be okay either haircut you like and soldiers didn't even salute higher ranks. Those times where over mid 80ties.
Bullshit. Slavery existed already 6500 years ago. The black Nubian Pharao's had many slaves. And millions of Europeans got in slavery due the pirates from North African coasts ca.2400/2000 years ago.
When we arrived first time in Ghana the Ashanti wich was a big powerfull tribe immediately offered slaved to sell to the Dutch and Portugese, Spanish and more.
So no remorse. We stopped slavery long before they did in Africa. In Turkey e.g. they sold then last slaves in 1908? You probably are a immigrant considering your language as pretending to be a victim.

I’m actually quite proud of our military forces. Our country is small, but what I understood from one of our Dutch marines, is that they consistently tend to perform much better in lots of drills (worldwide competitions of some sort) and even outperform the Americans, even though you lot tend to be at war a lot more than we are.
I believe the marine referred to a sniper challenge of some sorts. I felt oddly proud to know that our country, in spite of our size, continuously achieves so much on the worldwide stage :)

8:30 he called out for him on the bad march and the group needs to do push-ups, sergeants calls out why he dindt march right because it went so well. We never punish one person its about the group.
Rifle carrying can be done differently depending on which hand you use to shoot and which shoulder you use to shoulder your weapon.
i keep thing how you would get whacked in the face doing it that way.
