I’ve said it to a few of my friends, and if I ever cover one of these songs live, i’ll say the same. When I listen to these sessions, I have a hard time believing he’s passed away, and that’s because the music is so alive. Down to earth themes, a golden voice, and a unique, modern sound. Truly wish he saw more success and appreciation, and that he maybe even sees those things post mortem. What a talented man, and by all accounts I’ve heard, a kind and genuine person. Truly the voice of a generation in my opinion. My music will never be this good, but this is what I wish I sounded like. Fly high steakfry.
