- ■ Formula 1 is set to introduce tons of changes in the 2025 season, and it does look like we are going to have an extremely competitive season on our hands with these changes. On top of that, the Council has decided to change some of the 2026 regulations as well, which goes to show that the ever-growing and ever-adapting sport of Formula 1 is making sure that innovation comes as the first and foremost principle of the competition. But with all these changes, can the teams adapt on time and if not, will they succumb under the pressure from others who can?

The biggest rule changes needed is the removal of MBS at the FIA and a race director that follows and understands the rules like Charles Whiting.

I understand you have to make these video over a certain length for RUclips. But that was a lot of filler for not alot of information. Like the first minute is you repeating yourself. Good info to have in the video but you need to be more concise or find more information to add. Add a visual about the drs gaps and where they mean. Add information about the types of driver cooling aids. It seems very generic information that anyone could find.
I’m not sure I can get onboard with the whole 2025 or 2026 argument. The top teams have so much extra resource above the cost cap that they can essentially do both
What they need to do is stop making the cars bigger from year to year and bring back the small v10 cars with a few modern safety features. Would make for a lot better racing. Too bad the fia are a bunch of fucking idiots and continue to ruin the sport by making the cars bigger and slower.
Yet they are still okay with street races with hard walls right off the racing line while tracks are demanded to have run off and arrester beds all around.
So when are they getting rid of those awful looking hubcaps?

It could easily be the best year for a long time, the last year before a big rule change is usually a good one as teams never get so close to each other. Unfortunately this then normally leads to a year or two of domination as the team who interpreted the new rules the best wins

Ive watched #F1 for over 40 years and my advice would be to skip 25 and await 26. The F1 Group and Liberty Media are more interested in the 'razzle dazzle' than the actual racing. Its pathetic.

On a serious note i do think 2 stop mandatory all 3 compounds used across the race would make a bit of difference?

Technically fascinating, but they are supposed to be racing CARs, rather than very low flying machines. Bring back simple cars like the Lotus 49, which also sounded good.

every season, we say it will be super competitive, yet when we get there its the same old snorefest. as always one driver and car dominates the season, the only difference is SOMETIMES that driver/car changes

I agree the opening 4 rounds of 2024 was indeed a snorefest, and it looked like Max & RB were just going to walk it, but, it can't be argued that the rest of the season was a snorefest, as we had multiple race winners and Max was kept off of the top spot for 10 races, nearly ½ the season. So hopefully '25 will be equally as exciting.
The 2026 cars are gonna be such a drag sometimes less is more, but not with the FIA
This rule change is going to be MASSIVE. The performance margins will start to FADE. The distance between teams will start to TAPER away.

If you think F1 is expensive and exclusive now, with those rules it will go the way of the America's Cup and you will have a field of 2 or three teams.
Isn't it funny, when every time F1's interests are about bringing innovation to the fore, Red Bull gets the new Regulations months before the other teams, allowing them to win 3-4 consecutive championships!
It was Mercedes getting the engine regs a year before the others the gifted Hamilton 6 championships.
+5KG for the whole weekend? I'm sure the rule is way more complex than that. Or I can see teams not fitting the cooling on race day and sticking in an extra few batteries or something. 😆

DSR OR HYBRID BOOST. Have one or the other, but not both. Using both, one for passing and one for defense or DSR and Electric Boost at the same time makes absolutely NO LOGICAL SENCE! They NEGATE EACH OTHER OUT. Do you wonder why a car using DSR can't pass a car on the straight that doesn't have DSR???? Even with a twelve mph push the DSR can't overcome the electric boost and proves it needs to be one or the other. Thank You and have a vroooom vroooom day.

Doubt this regs have just came in . This is a multi billion dollar £ sport . There isn’t a chance in hell this rules weren’t implemented months if not a year ago . No team is going to spend millions on developing their car just to have to change all that development at the last minute very very doubtful.

What the fia should change is team position changes during a race.
Get rid of flexible wings
Flexible aero dynamic surfaces have never been permitted. That said providing the surfaces satisfy the testing then they are not considered flexible. BTW good luck designing a material that doesn’t flex when a load is exerted upon it.
