Thank you for the last two videos that have nothing to do with the you-know-whos. I’m tired to death of hearing about them. This story is crazy though!!
Let's once again use mental health as an excuse and not being held accountable for your decisions and the consequences that comes from those decisions!
Yes, drug use is a choice.. as is alcohol. If you turn nasty on that crap, you need to not drink, and there's no reason to be using illegal drugs, get off your arse and work, you're too busy then to be sitting around doing drugs ... sounds like he's been spoilt in his mother's new luxury life, but doesn't seem to have any direction as he's not a real royal.
We all have something. No one goes through life without any type of problem - we don't live in a perfect world. Sometimes, life throws a lot of problems our way. I don't believe that life was ever 100% perfect for Marius either, but to go to Italy and relax and Mommy comforting you when you made a fool of yourself? I believe THAT is what will give you mental problems! No one will get any self confidence by NEVER being able to solve life problems! The cure is probably to demand of him that he takes responsibility for himself from now on. No money to Marius. Let him find a job, a home and if he can't do that, he will have to go to a shelter. No more cuddling from mother. No more understanding now.
Exactly. It's covering up things and hiding the issues in both cases. So, it's a bit unfair to call out CP Mette-Marit for it when you do not call out King Charles as well. Yes, Marius Borg Hoiby is not a royal, so his case might be a little different, but still ... the palaces kept things secret far too long, way into adulthood, which is where I would have stopped protecting them. You turn 18 or 21 - no more hiding your misdemeanours from the public. Full accountability.
Trouble is, they can protect them from others, but not themselves..they go out drinking and doing drugs, the security should be able to count how many drinks they have, and then tell them to stop, if they won't, then manhandle them into the car and take them home. The parents then know what their teenager is up to...and let's face it, it's rebellious teen years where habits start..and a drinking age of 21 in America doesn't stop kids from drinking, they'll get it if they want it.... Europe has a better idea, teens can drink and at least parents can supervise and teach them that 1 or 2 drinks is fine, there's no need to drink 10 or 20 and pass out, out become a violent monster, etc....
@@lynettefinnigan9540 in my family the teenagers were allowed to drink at home if they wanted to. It was usually a beer or a cocktail and usually limited. And if you drank you were in for the night. We learned to drink responsibly without going overboard. It was helpful that by the time graduation parties and the college experience rolled around alcohol rather lost its luster.
Marius wants the benefits that come with being the some of Marrit. He is not Royal but has in NY claimed he was a prince. However, he should not be allowed to get away with what a common person would face charges for.
Substance abuse and mental health issues seem to be his continued excuse for unconscionable behavior. Only time will tell if Marius is truly taking recovery seriously.
Thank you for bringing us this story Brittany! It's pretty disturbing. And then the Princess and the Shaman are another story! Loved your video on them!
I had seen a video on the princess and the Shaman before. I cannot believe he is still going to be a part of this royal family. I wish someone would wake up!
Yes..that one was 😮..and that interview!! She's as nutty as he is.... 'tell me how wonderful I am...' and he dribbles out a heap of crap and she lapped it up, it was sickening!!
Totally agree with you Brittany about the role his parents played. I'm a mother of 6 (grown) children and I know that we as parents are the ones who have to set boundaries, first and foremost.
Trouble is, no matter how 'anti-drug' you are, they'll still try it out with their friends, and some still like it and turn into useless druggies, and then yeah..get mental health issues, as they fry their braincells and it doesn't work so well anymore!!
I was thinking exactly this. I feel for victim, but I’m glad that the drama of other royal families is also being brought to the attention of the world. It’s not just ours. Like, the BRF may be the most popular but they all have drama. Spain, Denmark and even Swede too 😅
@@vivianlottering8091 isn't the BRF considered to be the most "powerful" monarchy though? The inaction towards the diabolical duo is reprehensible and egregiously IRRESPONSIBLE wouldn't you say? The two demons have done sh*t that would've had their heads cut off publicly had it been centuries ago. At least so far the Norwegian police actually arrested, jailed, and charged this @$$hole, but I won't be surprised if it's all dropped and somehow a criminal case will be settled out of court, which would be considered civilly.
They're a family right?! ALL familes everywhere have drama whether they're royal or not. Everyone has a DIL they don't like, a son who's rebellious, a father who's hard on them, or a mother who died to soon.
It used to only the royal family of Monarco..Princess Stephanie married a circus clown or something.... but with them marrying weirdo Sharmans, and using drugs, and now this one with domestic violence.. the younger generations are tainting the image of all the royal families. ... maybe they do need to go back to marrying other countries royals, or at least the daugher/son of the presidents of other countries...kids who understand the spotlight because they've grown up in it!!
5:29 you can get someone the absolute best help for addiction, but until the addict themself is ready to face up to the issue and do the work, it won’t help. It’s that whole “you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make them drink.”

Yes, his 4th divorce...says a lot about him and Diana, I have felt sorry for Charles as more of Diana 'behind closed doors' comes out.. and we see MM role-playing Diana and Harry lapping it up...if her awful behaviour reminds Harry of his mother..then Diana was not the sweet little thing I always thought she was!!!!
@@lynettefinnigan9540 Diana was very emotionally troubled. The Spencer children did not have a solid family beginning. Like everyone no one is perfect. Unfortunately Diana was given so much positive press attention, because she sold magazines really well, the public perception of who she was is very skewed.
This is so sad, the young boy had such an opportunity being apart of the Royal Family. His life with just a single mother would have been difficult at times.
@Sushi2735 he was not always 27. He had a chance from his mother's first days of marriage to have a life he would not have ever had if she had raised him alone.
@@beckyb1012 He is 27. Whatever he has done between infancy up to now is rather irrelevant. Beating women, harassing them, stealing and drug-abuse at the age of 27 is NOT something You can be apologetic of him of. He is a grown-up.
Yep..I've always said "you cannot beat your genes". It amazes me these women who write to murderers in jail and want to marry them!! Crazy shyte, ...they are a person who murdered someone, why do they think they're a 'good person'!!???

For parents who have had similar situations and are watching this, believe that it’s not 100% your fault. That’s ridiculous. These things are complicated and dealing with them is complicated.
So true! Parents have great responsibility. Parenting has effect for the child's lifetime - into adulthood. However, adult children must take personal responsibility for their own lives. Adult children cannot live their lives, forever blaming their parents for choices, decisions, lifestyles that they, as adults, have chosen for themselves.

@@lynettefinnigan9540they just reflect the average people. Young people all over the world are getting more dumb, greedy, selfish, aggressive. Why? Maybe the internet has not only good influence. I raised / raising 4 kids in my own . My oldest is 30 years old , my youngest is 17. My older two kids dad died when they were little I remarried had two kids but divorced him when they were 18 months & 3 and he rarely paid child support and rarely saw our kids.I busted my butt working to take care of us. I always felt like I was not good enough and was sad I couldn’t buy my kids all the cool stuff their friends had . They got junkie cars and had to get jobs early . Looking back I would not change a thing because my kids are now self sufficient, compassionate, hard working and very appreciative for everything. Sometimes too much money and too much spoiling ruins kids
@@EEmByeah, but he is going to reflect on the royal family..sadly he must take after his father, who is obviously not a good person, since she was happier to be a single mother than marry him.
How a person acts as an adult is not always a reflection of their parents. To say it’s a 100% reflection of the parents is quite naive. That’s a hurtful thing to say when there are parents out there who tried and tried to help their children with little success. Mental illnesses and addictions often win the fight.
Other men from rich parents in Norway are often finance guys, and they are known to be taking a lot of cocaine here in Norway. I can see its hard to have normal friends when you are a part of the royal family, and he went to an expensive private school as well at some point. So those other kids have always been around him. The mom seems like such a nice woman and has always been herself and been open about her life and health struggles... So yeah... This is a weird case. Young men in that environment (friends) act awful. One of his exes was cancelled when it came out a picture of her holding a bag of cocaine. It's a lot of it going around in that friend group
Thank you for great video. I haven't been thinking Marius and Ari Behn had so much in common, but you are right. Marius may have been severely affected he lost his friend.

Families all have different issues. We all cope the best we can and parent our children as we think best. Unfortunately, when children are grown, they make their own choices, sometimes to their detriment. One of our grandchildren is making awful choices despite a loving family. At this point parents and grandparents are only able to offer prayers for those making poor choices.
Marius sure looks like Ragnar Danneskjöld from Atlas Shrugged. Very close to how I pictured him. Also, somewhere in Santa Barbara, Dr. Laura is applauding what you said about parenting. 100%!
I do feel some sympathy for Marius. He is considered "PART" of this Royal Family, but he will NEVER be considered "OF" this Royal Family & that MUST be VERY painful for him. He is more OR less, an afterthought & that is VERY painful for him. On the other hand, harry had it MUCH BETTER than Marius. Harry had it ALL, yet, harry threw it ALL AWAY, with BOTH HANDS !!! Whereas Marius just wanted to be accepted, Hapless threw it ALL AWAY. I feel MUCH MORE sympathy towards Marius, and NONE for harry. THANK YOU, BRITANY for keeping us ALL up to date on this story.
No pity for that punk He was given everything He should have bern shipped off to a third world company & to help those people by helping to build wells & schools
@@mcbridemahan9136 Please, do NOT get me wrong. I ABSOLUTELY agree with you. He ABSOLUTELY should have been made to do ALL you stated. But I can also see from the photos I have seen, that even as a child, he did not seem to be accepted. Maybe I am wrong on that, but either way, he MUST be made to pay for ALL he has done. Truthfully, it seems his mother is something of a skag. The people of Norway MUST be horrified at ALL this terrible mess. The Crown Prince & his own mother's decisions seem way off. Now, Marta Louise is adding ANOTHER real "winner" to this mess. I hate to be too rude, but within 14 months, there will be another HUGE scandal, with some man, saying he is having an affair, with this "shaman", in the King's OWN home, along with ALL the filthy details, that they will sell to the HIGHEST BIDDER. But It is Marrius' victims & the people of Norway, that I feel the MOST sorry for. POOR NORWAY !!
I wonder if Harry's children will one day feel like they are "part" and not "of" either of their families? That, of course, would be the fault of their parents. By the time they are "allowed" (free from the legal grip of their parents) to contact any of their Windsor cousins, Archie and Lili will be complete strangers with nothing in common other than DNA. The Philips girls are 13 and 12 already and Prince George is 11, so they will all be well into their 20s. Prince George might even be a very young PoW by then.
Miss Brittany - I take exception to your comment at 21:17 about an adult child's behavior being a reflection of the parents success/unsuccessful in child rearing. Parents don't set out to raise their kids to become career criminals, rapists or murderers. I believe the crown princess is certainly complicit and possibly an enabler but he's 27 years old, an adult he is responsible for making his own choices.
I’m with you. Sometimes no matter how hard a parent tries some children don’t turn out the way we raised them. Drug abuse is a terrible problem in our society unfortunately.
Gosh Brittany I appreciate your sense of compassion for this young man. Who can deny he is in a lonesome world of his own. Not condoning at all but it seems these days if a child grows up to be mentally healthy and a positive contributor to society, is somewhat of a miracle.
Thanks for explaining it all. This situation was almost inevitable, given the back story. Sounds like he never felt good enough and that should have been spotted and worked on. There’s no defence at all for violence against women but he’s found himself in a life he wasn’t meant to be born into and may have found it overwhelming. Sad really.
No, before MM secured a prince, he was meant to grow up in a broken single household family with a young unstable mother who was around the block partying and using drugs and a jailed drug dealer as father. I am sure the outcome would have been much better. Not! Can't beat genes!
Our son with multiple mental disorders on the Asperger’s spectrum/ADHD/ODD consumed our lives-we did everything possible to help him as we knew his life would be difficult-counseling-individual, family & group, daily life tutoring, church youth group & managed to keep him away from substance abuse. He turned 18 a month from graduating from high school & left home. All we created was a psychopathological liar& sociopath as he was smart enough to figure out the system….we did everything we could so you have no right to be blaming parents for how their children turn out
My husband I completely understand. We did the same as best we could living in rural Canada. It would be so encouraging if we could meet you and other parents in the same situation. Our daughter ex is married to a man who has decided he is gender fluid and they have a child with the same affliction. It’s a heavy cross to carry. We shall keep you in our prayers and ask you do the same.😊
Marius reminds me of Christian Bale in the American Psycho. His parents have done him no favours by spoiling and hiding his behaviour. He needs to be in jail or rehab and not attending an Italian wedding.
I think the way title should work should be appointed like a job title and can have a title in retirement. The people in the line of succession could be eligible, but nothing would be automatic. All the royal countries should be considering things like this.
That is a very good idea.... and I think all the children of the heir should have to knuckle down and study... if they're not too bright (like Harry was seen to be) then they prepare them for a life where they can work and earn a living, but will have no royal role...then spiders like MM wouldn't come along to capture them for the title and attention, as they wouldn't have any!! He'd have more luck at finding someone who wanted just him for himself. They don't have towers and heads on spikes anymore to make people see what consequences can be..so really need to change the base rules.
Hi, I think you are spot on. I totally agree on your statement. I am a Norwegian, but I think this hole thing is ridiculous. Royalties is just too old fashioned, and I hope more Norwegian realizes that sooner than later.
Sadly, I'm coming to the realization that once the veil of mystery surrounding royals is removed it eventually leads to their irrelevance and downfall. I see now why the late Queen Elizabeth II regretted doing that documentary about her family life back in the 60's. Royals, celebrities, politicians etc, for the most part, are not necessarily the best role models we common folks should try to emulate. I love history and have been fascinated by the BRF for decades, but the last handful of European monarchies are looking pretty unstable these days.
He might have pursued an education and become a self made man. He might have learned a trade and become a self made man. He might have apprenticed and become a self made man. Why make excuses for his behavior when he had more options than most people could dream of. How many families have children brought up in the same home but one goes off the rails. It happened in my family and I stayed on the rails.
Marius have been a problem since he was a teen, and even when he was a small child people was worried about how much his father (who was a felon and a drug addict) would influence him to choose the wrong path in life. He have been pained as the "black sheep" since he was a kid. He's been "troubled" what it feels like forever, and seen as a messy party boy. It's been known throughout the years, so when this came out, I wasn't surprised, though I don't think non of us thought it was this bad, him abusing his girlfriends. I remember his father have been seen to take advantage of his son's special Royal connection. Any other Scandinavian here so remember this as well?
Hello- Alice from Norway- good input and analyses on your show today- I agree with your conclusion. The young man/Marius has had a difficult role. I think rather then just give Mette Marit the blame- he also has a biolodical father ( Who accedentialy spends a lot of time during summer where I live- Ula)- Has a responsebility as well- like he has been barred in by fences on both sides- But he is 27- and has to be responcible for his misdoings. Best from Norway
Drug addiction and mental health issues are not valid excuses for domestic violence. It is wrong to believe that alcoholics might not beat their wives if they were sober. If the media did not report previous allegations of domestic violence with other girlfriends, drug and alcohol abuse they are partially responsible for covering up instead of holding him accountable for his actions. I always feel like famous people who get caught doing something wrong, they use the mental health card and promise that they will go to rehab until the next relapse.
What a sad situation. I do wonder if this is a case of over correction in some ways. First because Harold and Sonia waited so long to be together they decided to never judge or criticise their children's choices spouse, and just let them forge relationships with perhaps not enough guidance. Which may have lead to some difficult situations. Second I wonder if, as you say, Marius has been spoiled and indulged because of his odd position. Perhaps his mother worried about how he would feel about his siblings being Prince and Princess and him not and so was easier on him to make up for this perceived issue. Lastly I totally agree that him allowing his parents to handle this matter is not a good look for Norway. It would be one thing if he were 18 and still in school but he's a grown man and he needs to handle this on his own and make it clear that his parents have nothing to do with this other than personal support. That would help.

Other women have come forward. This man is off the chain. Actually the Royals in Norway have their hands full with their children. Wonder why the rebellion in both??
The Royal family in Norway has almost deity adoration - untouchable because they are relatable to the people and have a past reputation of being impeccable. Sadly, the Norwegians in general have left the faith and also have far left socialist views in recent times. Thus a couple of the Royals have made poor decisions. However, there were isolated incidents such as Princess Margaret’s indiscretions with Roosevelt during WWII, so because of their adoration, much has been swept under the rug,

Thank you for this balanced coverage, Brittany. Not many news outlets outside of Norway manages to not simply spread misconceptions. You, however, avoided this. There is only one thing to remember about Mette-Marit, the crown princess. She did not have drug connetions. She did hovever party with people that had drug connections, before her son was born. But she strongly objects to drug use. That is why a lot of people wonder where things went wrong with regards to her son... She knows how people party with drugs but didn't stop her son from having friends with drug connections and didn't manage to stop him from spiraling out of control and develop a drug habit... What happened? Us Norwegians simply don't understand why she didn't recognize the tell tell signs and pull the plug on partying with a certain group friends years ago? The glossy maagazine which name you tried to pronounce is called Se og Hoer. (You almost nailed it. :) ) It means Look and Listen. Durek Verrett is very upset with his mom for talking to that magazine... (Much like Meghan Markle is upset with her father.) Something to look into, as he and Märtha Louise sent her a cease and desist letter. The public went berserk. "How can he do that to his mother!!?"
So so sad, a child lost in all this, his mother’s illness, coping skills, stepfather’s position, palace press cover ups and help not given when needed. Similarities may not be drawn between him and PH, but I guess Charles couldn’t have been such a bad parent after all, Hazbeen could so easily have gone down a similar route, family support matters & PH had that. He just has no judgement or likes being told ‘no’ by anyone its how he ended up with MeMe.
Prince Harry did go down a similar path. He's assaulted many people in the past, including sex workers and a woman in London who suffered permanent cerebral damage from Harry's assault but his victims were all paid off and the incidents hushed up by the palace.

I don’t believe the child’s behaviour is always a reflection of the parents. Parents can have a number of children and do exactly the same thing, however one lives a very troubled life. There are many factors involved including personality, social factors, mental health. With respect, when you talk about family problems, you speak in a very black and white way. You also speak about your relatively wealthy Christian life, which for many, is far from the lives they’ve been given. You even said what a very unique and difficult position this guy is in. It may not be a complete reflection on the parenting.
Thanks for discussing this. It is very, very sad but so interesting. I never knew about the Queen's children from a different father. I think you're right about everything you said! It is a warning to other families who live in the public eye and to parents everywhere. Yes, Marius struggled in a very unique situation but really his mother should have been on this - from the minute she became engaged. (I would say his father too, but you said father not involved) The passport thing is terrible, terrible and totally on the King! He should have put his foot down a long time ago. Absolutely, it will be important that the family NOT use its influence in any way to interfere in the criminal process. IMO they should not do anything which makes it even look that they may be helping him, in any way. He is 27, well beyond the age his parents need to be involved at all. I know it is rough, but that is the way it goes. Sometimes, jail is the only way for someone to get the message. I have a friend who is defense counsel to juvenile offenders in the US. When they get arrested they get put into a detention facility rather than a normal jail because of their age, Parents are notified and usually rush to get them out. My friend frequently will suggest to them not to do it right away, to let them stay in for a while. It is not a terrible place but it is confinement, alone without their phones, no internet or cable, very basic food and a lot of hours to contemplate their situation. It at least is an opportunity for them to realize what they are in for if they don't get their act together. It often helps. This story makes me very sad. I am a parent to boys who are now adults, a little older than Marious. I believe that most antisocial behaviour arises from a lack of interest in or attention paid to children while they are growing up. If you have children, you need to KNOW what is going on with them, be involved in their life on a day to day if not hour to hour basis. I know it is not easy, especially if you are a single parent, which I was not, and work full time which I did do. But it can be and must be done. Otherwise, don't have children.

Stop speculating that it’s his mothers fault. And that the people of Norway will blame her. They are actually standing with her. Yes he has done the wrong thing. He needs to face the consequences for what he did. But you can’t make your child do what they don’t want to do. Also she is very ill her illness is incurable. She has to take medical leave. She has massive problems with her lungs. She was never charged for anything with drugs her partner was . Yes Martha Louise is a bit kooky I agree and the shaman is using her for attention. He is such a horrible person with what he says and implies. The people of Norway are actually standing behind the whole family. I agree he needs to take responsibility for what he did. He is an adult. Please stop blaming his parents and step grandparents. From what I have read she was checking to make sure the young lady was ok. Any parent would do that I know I would want to make sure she was doing ok. I don’t think she is using her stature in the royal family. Her son did this and as I said need to face the court of law and accept his responsibility. The girl hasn’t said anything really so no one knows.

Harry's drunken (and also sober) violence has been hidden by the British royal family for years.
And IF he allegedly did something as aggravating as this to someone, we will probably never know because the Palace shove it under the rug.

You are so welcome!
It’s kind of nice knowing Great Britain isn’t the only royal family with drama.

Have you read his latest book? It's about his childhood and boarding school. No wonder his relationahips have been so stressed.
Another divorce?!
He's already in another relationship
Yes, his 4th divorce...says a lot about him and Diana, I have felt sorry for Charles as more of Diana 'behind closed doors' comes out.. and we see MM role-playing Diana and Harry lapping it up...if her awful behaviour reminds Harry of his mother..then Diana was not the sweet little thing I always thought she was!!!!
@@lynettefinnigan9540 Diana was very emotionally troubled. The Spencer children did not have a solid family beginning. Like everyone no one is perfect. Very true.
For sure. And scoundrels.
Parents can do their best but there is an element of luck with some of the choices children make.

How a person acts as an adult is not always a reflection of their parents. To say it’s a 100% reflection of the parents is quite naive. That’s a hurtful thing to say when there are parents out there who tried and tried to help their children with little success. Mental illnesses and addictions often win the fight.
And are often genetic. Parenting and education can only do that much.
Families all have different issues. We all cope the best we can and parent our children as we think best. At this point parents and grandparents are only able to offer prayers for those making poor choices.

Sad really.

Better a Royal outsider, than a nobody outsider.

(Much like Meghan Markle is upset with her father.) I don’t believe the child’s behaviour is always a reflection of the parents. Parents can have a number of children and do exactly the same thing, however one lives a very troubled life. There are many factors involved including personality, social factors, mental health.

Good morning from Virginia 🙂
Good morning!
There is a decline of all monarchy in Europa
Hey! I’ve been watching your vids for a long time ! I’m an Irish person living in Norway for over 20 yrs, his me up if you need help with Norwegian , I know the struggle ❤️🇳🇴
Odd that he is not charged for the cocaine use he obviously already admitted to. Is such substance abuse legal in Norway?
He admits his crimes. How refreshing. It's not like he had much choice, but still . . .
Brittany, don’t say I’d like to have you back!!!! You should just like to have you as a member!! Sounds like you’re losing people and you don’t want people to think that!! Just FYI 😅😅😅🎉
Deary me… 😮
Yeah, this case is something else. Thanks for watching!!
