Mina’s right on how great the “reoccurring day” movie concept is when done well. Why must this woman have such great taste in movies, music, and sports?!?!
Best airplane moment was when the reporter is asking questions to someone in the air control room then the reporter says to other reporters “ok guys let get some pictures” and they start taking pictures off the wall, (not taking photos)… hahahaha.
My favorite is when you finally see what his drinking problem is. Gets me every time

I love Mina is so honest she admitted she's not hearing the sped up music. I always wondered how is she keeping so calm. So I guess it was intended for the audience only to make us feel amped up pressure. So many behind the curtain tricks. lol

@10:00 I remember smoking allowed on airplanes, and I was invited into the cockpit and was given pilot's wings from the pilot. Also, I remember when there was NO AIRPLANE SECURITY, and non-passengers could board the planes (e.g. - to say goodbye to relatives, other loved ones).
This “debate” that older comedies don’t hold up has to be a contrivance. I’ve showed my kids, born after 2010, all the classics and they love em. Airplane, all three Naked Guns, Young Frankenstein, History of the World part 1, Brewster’s Millions, Blues Brother, The Goonies, Groundhog Day, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Animal House, It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, Trading Places,… the list goes on

Old comedies usually don't hold up because those jokes usually only make sense in that era action comedies like Beverly Hills cop and Lethal Weapon are probably the only types that still hold up though.

Blues Brothers is one of my favorites! I was born in Joliet! Joliet Jake. I would ask kids growing up if they knew the prison Jake got out of in the film. They would respond yes because it was the mid 80's so the movie was recent, and I would tell them I was born there and they would respond with, "you were born in prison?"...lmfao 🤣🤣🤣 I had fun growing up and messing with people! Every line in Airplane! is a setup or a punchline, it’s incredible. 30 Rock is the only thing I can compare it to in that sense.

Took a flight to NY last week. Yes I was in first class, but the Stewardess let another family right next to us with young children go into the cockpit and take a picture with the pilot **Before we took off**. Not sure if that would happen once we were in the air

Dan likes a lotta pretty mediocre fare, tv and movies, so take all this w/ a substantial grain of salt. Also, "Airplane" was 1980, certainly not 1973. But '74- Young Frankentstein. Comedy gold. Totally holds up. So do Take the Money & Run, Sleeper, Blazing Saddles, The Jerk, and The Return of the Pink Panther.

And Dans insistence that old movies like pre-1990 are irrelevant is such a bad take. Good movies like music will stand the test of time regardless of their release date. Look at Steve Albini's impact on musicians now.
