      @@paulomelo1471 it doesnt really matter if you have good surface agitation in your setup. I dont use co2 but my friend does and he lets it run all night. Im talking about the diy one.

      I think its quite hard to stop the CO2 process once you have started it. You cannot just put on a one way valve because that would cause pressure in the bottle and cause it to explode or leak. One option is a two-way valve with a timer that releases the CO2 into the air while ”off” at night

    Hello Erkut ! I saw that by adding two sheets of gelatin to the bottle of sugar you can extend the distribution of CO2 by two weeks! Thank you for this tutorial, it’s the most understandable I’ve seen on the subject ! 🪴🐠🐌🐜

    I've done this procedure today and it's actually good to see C02 started after 3 hours 😌 but my question is how to stop it over night? I mean is it safe to close the cap of the bottle after using it with the mixture inside?

    Hi are you getting consistent amount of co2 for 10-13 days or the amount is reducing after few days. And if co2 is not consistent is there any chance for any issues with plants(like algae problem)

      Continuously, getting 7-8 days After week amount is reducing! And I’m replacing with New one. No issue so far last 6-7 years. Check my nano aquarium videos all of them running with DIY CO2

    I will work well ...but if your room is cold it won't work as yeast don't produce CO2 in cold temperatures.

      The duration can vary depending on the temperature of the environment and the state of the yeast. When I do it, I usually observe a release of carbon dioxide for a period between 10 and 14 days.

    Should you adjust the size of the neo diffuser based on the size of the aquarium? IE: neo tiny for a 5 gallon tank or always use the M size?

      Cannot stop it’s for 24/7! I already explained in the video! And again for the DIY co2 systems surface aeration (agitation) is very important for oxygen!

      @@captainnolan5062 as long as the surface water is being agitated you will not gas the fish because its constantly off gassing it and bringing in new O2 for livestock... it takes WAY more CO2 than you think to kill livestock...ive been using this method for 5 years in my smaller tanks without any issues whatsoever its super safe.

    Since this is always running, what should I do if my co2 gets too high? Should I just open the bottle cap or how do I stop the system?

      If the CO2 gets high then , increase the distance between CO2 Diffuser and substrate.
      Like if the diffuser is attached 10 inches deep in the aquarium, then reduce it to 9 or 8 inch and then check the CO2 level.

      @@TheSunIsMyDestroyer Well I've been doing it for 5 years now. Never had an issue with the stuff getting into my tank. Just make sure the bottle doesn't tip over and you don't shake the contents so they don't get into the tubing. Overall I've never had that issue; even if it gets into the tubing it rarely makes it the entire length and never reaches the diffuser. I Currently have 2 tanks using the single bottle method with no issues. Just use a high quality diffuser to make the most of the co2. People start off using the two bottle method but you will quickly realize its just complicating things and more prone to leaking...

    You can make the bottle last longer with adding gelatine to the mixture. For me it lasts up to 3-4 weeks.

      @@Tropictank i did not have any problem with the smell. Try out gelatine from other manufacturers maybe it was faulty. I also use a second bottle for "washing". Small 0,5 l bottle filled with water.

      @@theduck4469 Ill try that mix next. I'm currently using a non-gelatine mix it gives around 3bps but only lasts 5 days.. 1bps isn't too bad if you have an efficient diffusion method otherwise it won't be as effective. I place my diffuser right below the water outflow so it acts like an in-line diffuser. I also produce co2 with citric acid cause I can get it for cheap; its much quicker to prepare but lasts around the same for my purposes

    Hey! I'm new to this and I've been trying to make diy CO2 but I just don't know how much volume of water is needed. I'll appreciate it if someone would tell me :)
    Edit: I also want to ask how to turn it off? I placed this in my bedroom and i'm afraid it might suffocate me when I sleep and also it will be a waste if you can't turn it off when you're not using it.
