      unless you're rotoscoping you can't do subtle facial expressions of a real face lol for eg you can animate the dining scene in heat all you want you'll never be able to convey the subtle acting no matter how hard you try with drawing

    The info in your videos is great as usual, but I always find myself mesmerized by your editing. It's just SO smooth and SO cleaver that it all flows together like butter and you can't help but get a little lost in the bones of the video itself. Top notch work.

      I hate to be 'that guy' but we don't have a limit on how many people we watch on here. There are probably dozens of channels in my subscription list that haven't posted in years and I'll be right here watching the next video if they come back.
      I don't think a creator should ever have to be afraid they're taking too long to make their next piece of media. At least, not for fear of their audience losing interest.

    Professional Animator and Animation teacher here. This is, without a shadow of a doubt, the single best video on the 12 principles of animation I have ever had the privilege to slap my eyeballs onto.
    I am showing it as an introduction video, in every single lecture on animation I give, I send it to my students and encourage them to rewatch it a couple of times, I shared it with most of my fellow animator friends and animation nerds, and I thank you from the bottom of my animation filled heart, for this gorgeous, beautifully edited, concisely, accurately and well written, soothingly performed and executed piece of video essay art.
    It is an absolute privilege to have this in my arsenal as a means to explaining animation to peeps.
    thank you.

It tells the story you're trying to tell in such a mesmerizing way that it's easy to get lost in the world you're fabricating. I can't imagine how much time it takes for you to do whatever rotoscoping or keying and key framing to put this together but holy crap you have a gift. The video animation is pretty much imperceptible and I can only commend you on your excellent skill and abilities for putting these together.

    • @GarrusDeWitt
      @GarrusDeWitt 6 лет назад +4

      The primary benefit the class provided is that the teacher could provide feedback after we practice what he's taught us. Definitely important but as far as the content goes, it wasn't too expansive compared to the video. The lackadaisical pace of teaching didn't constitute depth, it just meant more downtime.

    I think what I love most about your videos is that you have this uncanny skill to talk about a subject that on any other day I wouldn't give a second glance at, only to later find myself looking up extensive articles on the subject upon completion of the video. You're not just a youtuber and an artist, you're a teacher. And a damn good one because you can do something that most teachers only wish they could do; you make me want to learn. Keep up the good work, my friend.
