I recall Roland (Neil McCarthy) doing the rounds in the 1970's in an episode of Some Mother's Do 'Ave 'Em with Michael Crawford in the motel episode. He owned it & Frank Spencer destroyed the room.
Super dress! Weren't the fashions of the 1970s AWFUL! . . . EXCEPT for this lovely pink & brown dress, worn by Hannah Gordon, I have to say I have disliked ALL of the attire throughout the series. And that's a critique of the outfits worn by both Him AND Her! Dreadful garish colours, jarring patterns, nylon materials everywhere, wing collars flying about, and smock tops and mutton chop sleeves abounding! ,-) (Sadly the next decade, the 1980s, at times fared little better with its clothing trends - LOL!) Never mind, at last I see an outfit that is flattering to HG, and that has a lovely line. VERY stylish. (And of course this is still a super TV series . . .great entertainment that is fortunately NOT affected by the costumes.)
Andrew,
Thanks for this very amusing episode with a great guest turn by Neil McCarthy!
Nice to see the old fashions from fifty plus years ago....
Neil McCarthy was a really wonderful actor, and made the difference to everything he starred in -- especially as Sam in the fantastic Catweazle! :0)

Why are they always drinking...sad
And smoking, wearing those funny clothes and let's not forget the regional accents.
Love watching this, but they are so emotionally immature, especially him, not to mention the blatant sexism!
