Three brilliant songs showcasing Jonny Buckland's brilliant guitar work. Sometimes I can't believe we're this fortunate, to have this band in our lives.
I think "Cemeteries of London" and "Violet Hill" also feature some of Guy's best basswork. Two of my favorite songs to turn to when I'm craving a little more bass, haha.
@@stevenangel8235 They are the same band! Perhaps it’s because they are in happier places today? But I think it’s great they put out some albums that are a little different. It’s incredibly brave to do. Plus IMO if they were still putting out the same sounding music, people would be complaining that their songs all sound the same! And they still perform many of their old songs at current concerts…
I was looking for this comment. I swear my life, I bought a bass guitar because of this performance of Cemetries of London 2yrs ago. Coldplay basslines are so fucking cool
@@kalimbalove1912 Their "live" nowadays consists of a backing track synced to a light show and the band always doing the exact same complementary work with no Innovation and no creativity whatsoever. They are commercial that's their focus now.
@@youdbeinspired Dude, I'm too tired to debate some stranger online. I was at their show, they still have acoustic & audience request section which was sublime and Chris's voice was particularly awesome especially for quiet songs which need more vocal strength like Sparks, Swallowed in the sea, Us against the world, Everglow. They have NOTHING to prove. Nothing. Have a nice day.
@@kalimbalove1912shame their new stuff is dreadful. Loved them from Parachutes onwards, but Everyday Life, Music of the Spheres and (probably Moon Music) are awful. These songs in this video are true Coldplay. Not the rubbish pop band they are in the last few years.
Until I discovered the Viva La Vida album a year ago, I had written off Coldplay as a Division 2 dishwater rock band with a limited vocalist. But it's the album that marks their maturity. Superb
What I love the most about Coldplay is that after 25+ years they all still look like they enjoy being on stage and play their music as much as the first day.
Violet hill was about the massive financial crash of 'Lehmann Brothers' back in 2007/08. Just so you know. I love all of these songs; that all make me feel euphoric, badass and happy all at the same time.
Cemeteries of London is one of the greatest rock songs ever created, there I said it and I'm not even joking. *whatever whatever I do what I want!*. It's got everything a great rock song needs. Great lyrics that are really original and unorthodox and really metaphysical on top of it, great guitar riffs and an extremely catchy rhythm and beat track. It's short but really sweet and extremely rousing too like all the best anthems are and this one makes me feel like I'm a soldier going into battle. Gets me going everytime I listen to Viva La Vida and it may be my favourite track even over Viva La Vida itself. The album cover is dope too even though it's just a copy of the original art piece it's taken from. One of the best albums of the noughties and I think it stands high on a list of amazing albums of the century period. There's loads of great craftsmanship in it and I'd probably call it a better album than A Rush of Blood to the Head or Parachutes even though it's not my personal favourite. That's X&Y but that's a whole other deal and I ain't ready to defend that from any rock critics reading this. It's not as well engineered as Viva La Vida or some of their other albums but it's got great power, intensity and emotion and I never get sick of it. Give me Coldplay over Nick Cave or any other snootier rock band any day of the week. I'm not saying Nick Cave is a bad artist far from it but I find him too maudlin whereas Coldplay make me love music again everytime they release an album and I think they deserve just as much serious praise from critics as someone like Nick Cave because their music touches way more people nowadays than he does and in the end what's the point of making great art or music if only a select few critics or rock snobs are going to be able to appreciate it.
What for an instrument create thath sound between Violet Hill and GPASUMF? It sounds like athmospheric synthesizer or echo-delayed electric guitar or what??????? Is there anybody out there, who can tell me.........
They nailed Cemeteries of London and Violet Hill, but that transition between Violet Hill and GPASUYF, that was so awful. When they got into GPASUYF they really nailed that too but man that transition 🤦♂️ Though I want to stress how amazing the rest of it is, really awesome to see
Cemeteries of London is hands down one of their best songs
Cimiteri di Londra È senza dubbio una delle loro migliori canzoni
Along with "Yes" a very very underrated song.
Absolutely. One of my very favorite songs ever. They’re so fucking good.
Agree!!!
I'd argue that the entire album has their best work on it.

We were this fortunate, the Coldplay of today is far from the Coldplay of yesteryear

I love that both Coldplay and Radiohead have a talented guitarist named Jonny.
Me too bro. Both Jonnys are awesome
Agreed.
And The Smiths 👀
Guy Berryman is so under-rated, his bass is as important as Johny's riffs. The whole band is marvelous!
Totally agree!!! I love the bass of GPASUYF

I love that French revolution times and old London atmosphere they created with Viva la Vida songs.
They are truly the last of the greatest big bands...I'm holding on to them so tight, I don't want them to grow old...
They used to be
@@youdbeinspired they're still big & so great live.Your opinion won't change their status as one of the biggest selling band of the modern times.

This is the meaning of the word "band" or "group". No one can exist without the other one.
It's impressive how Viva la Vida and Cemeteries of London transport us to the time of the French revolution like a time machine back in time!
Jonny is such a treasure!
Cemeteries of London IS one of Coldplay's best songs.
God damn these are jonnys most impressive songs I think
Damn thats my top three favorite Colplay songs together! Whyy was I too Young to be there, its not fair.
giverb123 but you love and appreciate it embrace and enjoy god I wish I was there as well !!! :)

Coldplay at their best! Bring back the instruments!

😂 where on earth did you get “division 2 dishwater rock band with limited vocalist” from?
hahjajajaahajaha holy shit, dishwasher rock band... GENIUS
Chris Martin a limited vocalist? Wow...
the 3 most underrated songs in my opinion
What I love the most about Coldplay is that after 25+ years they all still look like they enjoy being on stage and play their music as much as the first day.
Damn the bass sounds gooood in Violet Hill.
Jonny boy, jonny boy!

Does someone feels like Cemeteries Of London sounds quite like U2? Hahaha
Influences
As not has
They nailed Cemeteries of London and Violet Hill, but that transition between Violet Hill and GPASUYF, that was so awful. When they got into GPASUYF they really nailed that too but man that transition 🤦♂️
Though I want to stress how amazing the rest of it is, really awesome to see
Wow Coldplay use to be way better.
Chris Martin really cant hit a high note ,live
Who cares they are the best
At least he doesn’t use pitch correction (it’s not too much of a bad thing to use it, especially if you are dancing while singing)
Synthetizer effect, definitely not a guitar.
No, it is a guitar actually
