- Nhl players are returning to the olympics and 4 nations faceoff, and with talent like connor mcdavid nathan mackinnon connor bedard sidney crosby in the mix for team canada , I wanted to give my projected roster and it was lots of fun. Let me know if you'd like the same thing for see team usa . We'll get back to covering nhl highlights today , news and nhl trade rumors ahead of the deadline , picks today and predictions plus reactions to some of the day's nhl games. This team canada is mostly for the 2025 four nations face off but most of these guys will probably be part of the 2026 olympics canada roster . I can't wait to see mcdavid crosby bedard mackinnon together and there are some toronto maple leafs edmonton oilers and more mixed in there. Nhl hockey 2024

What would your 1st line be for this team?
Crosby Marchand and Bergeron were sooo good together. While having a different style, I totally see Mckinnon taking Bergy's place.

I wonder if that line will be too slow with Marchand and Crosby's age, they are some of the leagues smartest players though so they could make it work.

Team Canada will be terrifying, having Crosby, MacKinnon, Mcdavid, marner and Bedard, AND Marchand, then Makar on defense with probably Toews, this is terrifying

Stacked. The only slight weakness is between the pipes compared to past Canadian teams.
I'm kinda surprised by how many people don't have Jarry in the running, third best Canadian GsaX/60 and WAR behind Hill and Connor Ingram

Adin hill is the best this season. Skinner has been the best these last 2 months. Montenbaurlt dosent look good only because the habs are shit but remember hes your 3rd string. Yes we still have the best goaltending@@etkorbs

As a Habs fan i hope Suzuki is on this team. I think that honestly is still developing offensively and who knows? Maybe Canada wants a two way center rather then Scheifele? Unlikely but i mean Scheif not very good defense and is under ppg.

Finally someone taking Montembeault on their team, I've been touting him as being on this team for over a year now. We are desperate for a good goalie and he may be able to do the job if we are defensively sound.

Great First Line and Love the idea of the Schooner Line! Overall its a snapshot in time, but definitely the way I would go. Great part is that it becomes a tune-up for the Olympics.

How shaky Jarry,Blackwood,Skinner,Kuemper can be. It will be between Brossoit/Hill/Thompson/Binnington.
Note World Championships just happend and got bronze Binnington didn't prove he deserves to be ahead of anyone.
Hyman and McDavid already play together. Swap Bedard off to play with Crosby.

I am definitely surprised how many Knights you put on your roster, but it does make sense because most of the team is from Canada

Amercan here. I thought about the Nova Scotia line for the reasons you said, but who plays center? I am not sure I want either Sid or Nate on the wing. I've got Hyman playing with McDavid because chemistry matters. I've got to have Aaron Eckblad, maybe in place of Daughty. I like Schiefle on the 4th line, but I think you have to have Sam Reinhardt in there somewhere, also. Maybe in place of Nugent Hopkins. Nugent Hopkins is an excellent choice, but as of right now, Reinheart is the best Canadian scorer in the league, and I don't think his stats are a fluke. He. is the real deal. I am not as sold on Bedard yet as everyone else, but maybe I just haven't seen him play enough. There are a lot of excellent Canadian players who have been left off. He has to beat someone else out. Unless you want a premiere sharp-shooter on a particular line. He is certainly one of the best in the league at that. Lastly, I love Canada's speed. I think that might be the ultimate difference-maker.
I think Shea Theodore, Carter Verhaege, and Evan Bouchard can also make a case for team Canada, especially Verhaege. I think he's very underrated

Exactly!! That's insane that people would put him on the team when he hardly has any NHL career or success!!! The incredible hype surrounding the kid has completely distorted some people's sense of reality.

We have plenty of thriving goalies relax. Idk where that narrative comes from, Binnington, Fleury, Thompson, Jarry, even Ingram is doin decent this year. Cam Talbot was the hottest goalie all year till the start of December when he plummeted haha.. We're golden!

Someone has to be removed for Steven Stamkos. The guy has never been on an Olympic team due to injury the one year he was eligible and they were playing.

Any others would be cool. I feel the NHL neglects player recognition like the NBA and rather promotes teams.
like you said stuff would change, and I'm sure you agree now. Defense down the right will go in order of: Makar, Bouchard, Dobson, Doughty. I think a guy like doughty will have to be slotted in for denesive purposes but our RD is so stacked, also Montour could be an option. Left is def weaker with still Toews, Morrisey, and Pietrangelo or martinez. Forwards, Reinhart has to make it, guys a beast at scoring, i hope he can continue. I dont think Montembault makes it over Logan Thompson. Goalies is our only weakspot. Americans 100% destroy us there with Hellyebuck, demko and swayman, I mean cmon imagine sway being your emergency backup thats fucking crazy. I dont know who is going to be replaced by reinhart. Maybe hyman will cool down or nuge really is the outlier on this team. Then again Nuges defense on PK is amazing, and he really showed up in the playoffs. Will be cool to see who they take, I just hope they don't suprise us by keeping some guys who absoluetly need to be there off the roster. Mcdavid, MacK, Sid, Makar, Point, and Marchy have already been confirmed and I mean come on thats got to be the meanest first 6 announcement of all time. Imagine Mcdavid, Makar, Mack on the PP together with gusy like Reinhart and hyman there to do the dirty work for them after they buzz around the offensive zone. This may be the most fun canadian hockey team of all time. Not to mention if Bedard keeps gettimng better.

Carter Hart is barred from playing for Team Canada, and depending on how the trial goes, may be in prison or probation. His career might be done even if he's found not guilty but he definitely won't ever again be on Team Canada.

He specifically mentioned two of the five players involved, despite the league having 1,000 players to choose from. My guess is this is a troll job. We'll know for sure if he comes back and recommends Alex Formenton to be one of our PK guys. 😂
