I showed my 16 year old twins my two headed Lincoln cent with different dates that I found in the roll searches back in 1970 . They cracked smile. Yes one side looks perfect and the other side has a small crimping . Still a great novelty to carry especially when you flip with a hard headed tails flipper
Of course one can also look on the bottom left part of lincoln for the vdb initials. They should be absent on any cent from 1909 to 1916. An altered 194x will have that vdb.
Ebay error coins section amazes me with so many Bravo Sierra listings..with many just outright stupid that everyone should catch.. unfortunately not the case. Great help to all of us pointing this out Ben, seasoned and newbie.
Neat group of coins. At least it looks like whoever was collecting those knew what they were. I also collect altered large cents as a novelty, just cause theyre fun.
Yes I have counterfeit altered 1944-d to a 1914-d seller said it was fake and I I agreed I've had it probably 40 years. Also v .d.b. is not under Lincoln's bust but is on a 1944-d altered and the wide space is also a giveaway.
You mean this penny I bought for $5 isn't worth a million dollars?!?! I think I have one of those copper coated ones floating around my collection somewhere. I should probably destroy it

Ben, you need to crack those out for us!! It would make a great show. Thanks for all the time you spend on us lurkers!
It’s amazing how hard some people will work to avoid working.
Bill Gates would give the hardest work to the laziest people, because they would figure out the quickest solution to avoid more work.
It could be there side hustle scam
At first I thought the 1931s was a altered 37 but now i see both possibilities ?
What about 3 heads?
Ok they didn't even try hard to alter that 2nd 14-D. Reminds me of a "193-Z-D" quarter I was offered once ;-)
I bought a 1913-V nickel at flea market paid 2.50$ hope I didn't waste two and half bucks♻️ thanks for the info ♻️ Enjoy your show thanks ♻️

Interesting stuff. Thanks.
Hey Ben, Thanks for the vlog! Are altered coins prolific? I guess I'm going to need to take a look at all the coins I have.
Hey Ben
Good video Ben

I actually have a 1943 steel copper coated wheat cent
I am so lucky , I have 21943 copper coated cents. Maybe If I keep them long enough I can sell then to pay for my Great Grand kids education.

The people that create those are deplorables. Cheers!

The moral of the story is to never buy a rarity that isn't already certified.
And beware of pre 80’s Metal movement..
