    Hi Fran; can you enable captions? I have CAPD, and captions allow me to follow your videos easier.

    • @JL0ndon
      @JL0ndon 2 года назад +2

      I was just about to ask to enable the auto captions i tried sharing with my mom who’s deaf and because a lot is voice over she can’t lip read

    • @jwalshmorrissey
      @jwalshmorrissey 2 года назад +1

      Fran has commented in the past that the speech-to-text software doesn’t understand her.

    • @JL0ndon
      @JL0ndon 2 года назад +2

      @@jwalshmorrissey sorry if i came off snarky. But really it’s frustrating because across google services you can turn on auto captions like in g chat as a feature and i think it should just work for any video like a plug-in instead of having to depend on a creator to flip the switch because it really isn’t fair to anyone, creator or viewer. Google could make it much more accessible. The auto captions aren’t perfect but it is at least a way to experience and watch a video and not feel left out when the tech is available

      @cozzy900 2 года назад +7

      I was going to ask too! All it takes is a click to enable auto transcription. Hey Fran, please do turn it on. I appreciate the speech-to-text isn't perfect but we, the caption users, are so used to the imperfections and we decipher it subconsciely. Besides, I'm an electronics & software engineer by day and a tinkerer by night and would love to follow your videos with the captions enabled. ❤️

    Install multi-color LEDs in every hole and make an active full color Light Bright. Run by an Arduino of course.

    What a beautiful gadget!
    06:40 "For those of you who are just joining the live stream, welcome to Watching paint dry with Fran". This made me laugh
    I might already have speeded up the video. After I discovered the shift dot and comma shortcuts, youtube got so much better. :) Anyone else do this?

      shift-dot and comma? Know, I didn't know about these... and I think perhaps they don't work for me now, as they're sort of masked by the configuration I have for the "Video Speed Controller" extension... which... unless what you're talking about is more powerful than I imagine is... even more powerful! But nice to know there might be something there by default! Will have to check that out sometime.

    Excellent, "Picking up some dust"....
    Drifting to the right a little. Three feet down, twenty forward. Contact light. Tranquility base here, the Eagle has landed!
    Perhaps it would have been a good idea to use the "Lite Brite" sample as a guide to sizing and spacing the letters in "Fran Lab"?
    I've never seen one of these before, at least, not under that name. I seem to recall a similar idea from the 1960s, but it looked and felt more like Lego in its construction.

    Guess the next upgrade will be to remove the LR44 cells and put in a pouch cell, and a micro usb charge controller for the cell.

    I had the original one that plugs in and used a low wattage bulb. The pattern was put behind the honeycomb frame and clipped into place on the sides

    I always wanted to know how the 1968 "Action Lite-Brite Accessory Kit" worked. On the TV commercial it appeared to animate the Lite Brite art.

    You could make a tool, like the inserter in pcb's or connectors ect.
    A pice of down or better steel, with a hole just bigger than the head of the peg.

    I guess the light bright I had was not the original but not the new kind because I only had one layer grid and the papers had dots on them. And don't worry I like paint apparently after coming here from the LTT paint rant.

    I like some artistic products or games we had. I was drawing a Roulette Wheel by hand as the pictures available use too much black. I need to test some random function in some code towards online Roulette numbers coming out to stay within reason in my code. I have no idea if I can buy a ruler and angle measure tools around here any more so the first experiment is just thrown together. I would buy a Roulette Wheel product if it wasn't big, expensive or in plastic. The ball will most likely be in hollow plastic so it never stops.

    My concern with the Annie's product is that the last one I noticed had disappeared from trader Joe's went away everywhere else about a month later. That said my traders still had about 20 cans last time I was there. Not sure if it is worth the effort to ship a few but if you think it is let me know.

    The Lite Brite was one of the most disappointing toys I received as a kid in the 60's. From the television ads I was under the impression you were plugging little colored lightbulbs into the thing. It turned out to be plastic plugs through a piece of paper.

  • @scottthomas6202

    That is cool, and those button batteries are in packs at the Dollar Tree...
    I'd like to see a Lite Brite the size of a billboard, with pegs the size of a 15 gallon barrel..
    I have an original Lite Brite somewhere, but a significant portion of the pegs are missing...
    Maybe a 12 volt version of Lite Brite to use as the third brake light....

    Dear Fran. I'm not at all educated in science or any scientific field, but an idea occurs to me, and I'd like your thoughts or just plain derision on the matter :). We have all seen or used phones that have a face recognition security feature. How accurate are they ? For example. Could they be accurate enough to be combined with a drone of some sort and be able to find missing persons ? Covid masks not withstanding. If I sent a drone into a crowd or busy street, could that drone if unmolested find a certain person ? Please let me know if you think this idea might have some value. Thanks very much. Love light and peace everyone. X
