  • Maajiigoneyaash (Maaji) Gordon Jourdain, EdD, of the Lac La Croix First Nation, who identifies as an elder, shares with Native Report his experience living with his grandmother and learning the ways of his people. He also shares a bit about a Creation story.
Maaji works with the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa's language department. He’s also been connected to other Northland programs; for instance, he’s a former teacher of the Duluth Public Schools' Misaabekong Ojibwe Immersion Program at Lowell Elementary School.
