Rachel!! That kitchen is beautiful! You must smile every time you walk in there. You both did a great job, but kudos to Matt, especially. He really did some precision work there.
Yes, he did!
I was amazed at how perfectly hit fit the odd tile pieces! And, yes, every day, this space makes my heart sing!
You and Matt did a great job- so impressed that you did all the work yourselves and it looks like an expensive, high end, English country kitchen! Love the French tile, the unlaquered faucet-everything is lovely. You should be happy and proud that you did this together! You are an inspiration! Thanks for sharing! Love you guys. God bless!❤
So glad you are inspired, Miss Marie!
We appreciate you stopping by!
Hubby is so calm and such a perfectionist.
We also have wood counters with polyurethane.
Removing a cabinet for an open shelf gave us a real cottage look.
Love all you do.
Thank you, Miss Kathleen.
Yes, open shelving definitely has a cottage feel! Thanks for always supporting our channel!
Awe I'm so happy for you and Matt! You both did a beautiful job! Your kitchen is absolutely gorgeous! One of the prettiest English Country kitchens I've ever seen! Wishing you many years enjoying your new space!
Thank you so much!!
You two always amaze me! Your decorating talent and ability to make the great finds at remarkable prices is awesome! And there is absolutely nothing that Matt can't do! It's no wonder that your entire house is a show place and deserves to be in a magazine!! Love you guys!!🥰🥰🥰🥰
Thank you, Miss Ilene!
You're right (and I'm convinced) there is nothing Matt can't do or fix! We love you too!
This is so beautiful! I am so drawn to your gratitude and how you speak about your husband with life-giving words.
We have a café curtain over our old dishwasher and it adds so much charm!
Thank you for the kind words. Truly, this kitchen wouldn't exist without Matt. I hadn't thought if the cafe curtains ~ thanks for sharing!
What a lovely home. Your choices are pretty, practical, and creative. I love butcher block so warm and affordable. You and your husband are setting a good example to others proving sprucing up the home doesn’t mean going into debt. I really love that the most about this. Things don’t have to be brand new and the very best to be VERY nice. ❤❤❤
Agreed!
I'm so glad you're enjoying this series!
Matt is great! Love to watch him work!
The butcher block counters and brass faucet, along with that steal of a sink fir $45.00 is amazing! All of your choices have been so intentional and it shows. This is one of the sweetest transformations of a small kitchen I have seen. I would be so happy cooking in this cozy space. This, to me, is a dream kitchen for sure. The incredible tile and tongue and groove backsplash is icing on the cake. I am way out here in California, and watching Matt unveil the kitchen even brought tears to my eyes!!!!! I can just imagine you standing there with a cup of coffee, pinching yourself! I am so happy for you. What a team. I need a Matt in my life!!!!
Thank you for your kind words of encouragement, Miss Liane!
Yes, cooking, baking, and having friends for tea has been a joy. Still pinching myself every day!
I LOVE this remodel-the way you and your husband work and shop together, the practical budget, and all your design and color choices. Great job and a very informative video

Thank you, glad you enjoyed your visit!
I actually got tears in my eyes watching you unbox the new brass faucet. When my husband was alive we lived in a 700sqft 1950s cottage. Over the years, we remodeled it, and I remember well the emotion behind renovation. I'm so happy for you.
I did too!
Aw, how sweet!
What precious memories you have. Thank you for following along with us and for sharing, Miss Mariann.
Rachel, you both did a beautiful job!!🫶🏻

You're right!
There is something special and satisfying about creating a space with your own hands. Thank you for sharing this journey with us!
Oh how absolutely stunning this is turning out! You are so blessed that Matt can do all this work or labor would be through the roof!! That was kind the tile company gave you the tiles for free. It’s nice that he gives such wonderful customer service! I’m so happy for you both❤️ Great work!

It is becoming a dream kitchen. Amazing!
Yes, Ma'am, it has become a dream kitchen thanks to Matt! We appreciate you dropping by. Have a lovely Saturday! 🍂
Just watched this and sent my husband to Home Depot to get those corbels. They are actually $2 cheaper at my store. They really make a huge difference. Thanks for the inspiration. Enjoy the day
Wonderful!
Enjoy your day too!
I stained them and they are up. They look beautiful. I can’t believe the difference they make.
Wow, quick work!
Yes, I had the same reaction when Matt installed ours. Corbels would be my top recommendation for a budget friendly way to add custom style to a kitchen!
What a beautiful transformation! This is what happens when you are patient, and do your research!
Thank you, Miss Susan!
There is nothing you’ve done so far, that I have not LOVED. You’re right about the black dishwasher, it is an eyesore. Looking forward to the next installment.
Thank you!
We're excited about the next episode, too!
What a beautiful kitchen! I am very excited for you both. 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you so much!
We appreciate you stopping by!
Your kitchen look fantastic. I noticed the Brits love Green in their kitchens! Good job!
Yes, you're right, I've seen this green/cream combo often repeated in English kitchens ~ & I just love it! Thanks for stopping by. 🍂
I always look forward to your postings because you show us the planning, the resources and the hard work you and Matt do to create this fabulous kitchen transformation. Its all coming together so beautifully and I totally agree with your idea that its best to do things in stages, to pause and reflect and not to rush decisions. The end result today is a huge improvement and I cant wait to see what you post next time. xx
This is very encouraging!
Thanks for sharing what you enjoyed about the video, that really helps us know how to best structure our videos. We're excited to share the next phase!
The tile is stunning!
Thank you!
Your kitchen is turning out so amazing ❤
Thank you!
So pretty! I love how you have updated what you have. A pretty range hood would really make a statement. I love the soft colors. It will be so pretty for christmas.
Thank you, Miss Julie!
Yes, I'm really looking forward to decorating the kitchen for Christmas!
I'm SO excited to see this!!! My husband and I closed on our home yesterday, and after a long and emotional day, we came home to this episode. My husband and I have been watching your channel together for the past few weeks to get ideas for our new home. He was just as excited to see that you posted- and we watched it together. Thank you for the inspiration!
Hi, Miss Amy!
Congratulations on your new home! Thank you so much for sharing your excitement over this episode, we are thrilled to be a part of your new journey! I just wish we could see your plans! May your new home be filled with sweet memories of family & friends. I'd love to help in any way if you need design sources. Happy designing!
It's stunning! I love the faucet, sink and tongue and groove backsplash equally. Actually I love all of your choices. Can't wait to see you decorate. I see dried flowers over the sink. 😉 Congratulations on a gorgeous team effort!!! 💖💜💖
I'm glad you enjoyed this episode. In the final episode, I'll share the decor I've found so far!
You will be so happy and content in this beautiful kitchen. So excited to see what you will do in the next phase. I think it took me about three years once the counter and cabinets were what I wanted and several materials for curtains and things to hang on my wall.
Sounds like your kitchen is coming together beautifully! Slow & steady is the way to go. We're excited to share the next phase! Thanks for visiting, Miss Marlene!
Wow that's a lot of hard work but looks beautiful!
Thank you, Miss Jackie!
We're glad you enjoyed your visit and took the time to stop by!
My heart just leap with joy! Matt is a wonder! Love how this turned out! Enjoy the fruits of your hard labor!
You're right, he is a wonder! Glad you enjoyed your visit!
Thought I would add to the choir of your subs description as stunning, beautiful, lovely, gorgeous and that just describing you two…🤣😂… all kidding aside you both nailed it, yet again…thank you for sharing…love your content.
So glad you enjoyed your visit, Miss Nilsa!
We are grateful you take the time to watch and share!
Rachel, you might try calling the dishwasher company about a white panel. Also, sometimes, the panels come with panels behind the facing one. Try it! ❤
Thanks for the tips, Miss Barb!
We're looking into all our options. Thanks for sharing!
Rachel, congratulations on your beautifully styled kitchen! Kuddos to Matt who is an amazing handyman. I'm sure that many housewives across America are suffering from extreme jealousy of not having their own Matt. There are decorative panels that are made to cover dishwashers, so happy hunting!-Pat
Thank you, Miss Pat!
Rachel, I am simply over the moon happy for you!! Your kitchen is looking perfect! I am already looking forward to all the layers and decor that is coming and anticipation is SWEET! Matt, you get an A+ on all your hard work and you really showed us all how smart you are. I have a husband like you and Rachel and I both know how blessed we are!! On the matter of that odd little wall cabinet..have you thought to simple remove it so you can utilize the whole wall better? Maybe a lovely long shelf to display cottage decor? That was a long wait to get where you are right now and it is simply gorgeous.🎉❤️
Thank you so much, it's a jot to know others are enjoying and befitting from the series! Yes, Matt is a great blessing that I am so very thankful for! We do use the tall cabinet so will be keeping it. Since the last episode we've found a great solution making it seem like an intentional part of the kitchen design. As for the decor... It's the icing on the cake and I've been collecting vintage and antique decor since January ~ so excited to share it in the final episode!
Absolutely gorgeous
Thank you!
So lovely! I am so.happy for you both.
Thank you so much!
Good morning, Ms. Rachel! So excited to see this installment! ❤, Bobbie. Edit: Oh my goodness! You & Matt truly have outdone yourselves! Your kitchen is simply enchanting. Well done! ❤❤❤❤

The faucet is from an Etsy shop called "BrassCopperPure".
Beautiful job and choices!!
Thank you, Miss Lisa!
Everything came together beautifully!! I'm happy you were able to use your existing cabnetry. I love the detail on them and that gorgeous green!!
Yes, we we're really glad to be able to reuse the existing cabinetry ~ it was so much more affordable! I love the green, too!
Congratulations on your new kitchen. It is a beutiful kitchen and what is more it was made by your hands!!!
Thank you!
So happy for you! Great video! Love your style.
Thank you so much!
Beautiful kitchen.
Rachel, I just love Stone Cottage Home. To me, what's best about it is the instructional value. Your systematic planning and processes are easy to understand, and your presentations allow your viewers to understand and apply those same actions to our own projects. For those of us who like just about everything (think "shiney!!!"), it helps us to calm down, analyze, and identify the actual underlying themes we most like (color, pattern, texture, style, etc etc etc).. We essentially learn to slow down and thereby avoid mental - and consequently physical - clutter and confusion. Thank you!
Oh, what an encouraging comment!
Everything we do in creating these videos is aimed at helping our viewers improve their own homes for their families ~ affordably! It is rewarding to hear from a viewer just how this approach is helping! Thank you for taking the time to share.
Your English cottage kitchen is so lovely! Your determination, research and hard work has paid off. It will be fun to watch you style it with your personal touch. You and Matt are a wonderful team to achieve your dream kitchen. 💚🤍💙
Thank you!
Yes, the styling... I've already collected several vintage & antique pieces and am excited to share them!
Rachel and Matt your kitchen looks beautiful. All the special details are amazing. Enjoy!
Thank you, Miss Rebecca!
I love Hillary at old world home. She also has that British country decor style.
Yes, her channel is one of my top favorites!
Love it! Good job!! ❤
Whew! Big job! Looks so grand! Well done!🎉🎉🎉🎉You two are a great team !
Thank you!
Hello Ms. Rachel
I just love watching everything coming together. What a beautiful result! Well done!
Good evening, Miss Brigid!
I'm glad you enjoyed your visit, we appreciate you dropping by!
Corbals!! That is just what I need on my kitchen cabinets! Thank you!
The corbels really did make all the difference! Completely worth the investment!
Wow! What a gorgeous kitchen!!!!
Thank you, Miss Tessa!
Amazing kitchen remodel!
The Zelige tiles were absolutely the right choice. They are so gorgeous!
And the corbels are such an elegant detail and the perfect finishing touch.
I love the sink and faucet!
About that wall - how about cladding it all with tongue and groove panelling?
You could panel the closet door too, and perhaps make it flush with the wall, so it blends in more. This will provide texture and 'English cottage-ness' while still remaining a calm backdrop.
I would also suggest putting up a simple shelf on the wall over the island, using the same model of corbels, to tie it all together.
Btw, I love when your husband is also part of the video. You two are so sweet.
Love from Sweden
That's a great suggestion! Panelling the wall would be really pretty.
Hello from Sweden, thanks for dropping by!
Great design ideas! You might just be on to something...
Stay tuned to see what we chose! Yes, Matt and I are really enjoying doing this series together. Have a lovely evening!
You just might be surprised...
A "dream" kitchen comes together as you dream it up! We redid our kitchen using salvaged cabinetry-just needed to rent a small uhaul, pick up a brother to help load and unload, and spend a day picking them up. We were able to store them in our basement until we were ready to hang them and used what we had to lay out our small kitchen.
I had thought I wanted a poured concrete countertop, but as I looked more and more, I decided on butcher block, too. It adds warmth since we, too, painted our salvaged cabinetry. We created an "island" from a thrifted cabinet of some sort and inserted a marble cutting board for pastry making and design. My kitchen may not say "dream" to anyone else, but to me, knowing how little we spent, most of it going into appliances since the only working appliance was the fridge when we bought the house, it is amazing. My dream, within the space and budget. Well, it was, until I saw your corbels. 😂 I might be asking my husband to install a few.
We've owned 4 houses, redid the kitchen in every house, and had big budgets and small budgets. My current kitchen is my favorite so far, despite the size.
Can't wait for your next installment!
You're so right about the dreaming part, Miss Jenn!
Your kitchen sounds lovely! Ha ha, yes the corbels were icing on the cake to me as well. I feel like they are the single most unifying element in the cabinetry we added. We're excited to share the next episode too ~ there's an unexpected twist to the plot... ;)
So beautiful the kitchen turned out so far. The wall that you are asking for suggestions, maybe remove the existing wall cabinet, and make it one solid wall. I would then either add open shelving, and decorate with your English cottage decor. Another idea is to have cabinet and countertop against the wall opening up more of your kitchen. I think It will make your kitchen and dining area look bigger.
Thanks for the tips, Miss Liz!
The cabinet is very deep and holds our trash bin and broom, so we will need to keep it. We've come up with a way to make it look cohesive ~ stay tuned to see the outcome in the next episode!
So glad you painted the sill
The greatest inspiration I draw from your videos is your patience and gratitude! Your English country kitchen is beautiful and I have enjoyed watching it come together. I appreciate your tip on using different countertop materials for a more personal customized look. The butcher block looks amazing and adding a creamy quartz to the island will be lovely!
P. S. We also recently painted our honey oak kitchen cabinets green and I love it!
Another green cabinet fan!
We're glad you are enjoying this series and picking up helpful inspiration, too! Thanks for sharing, Miss Robin!
I love it! You two did a phenomenal job on this kitchen! I love your use of all of the different textures and materials on the counter and backsplash! It really looks fantastic!
Love the gorgeous faucet and the corbels, too. They elevate the look.
I’ve truly enjoyed watching all of these videos on your kitchen redo! I enjoy all of your videos but this series was especially fun to watch. It was informative and inspiring. It all came together perfectly and beautifully and you definitely achieved the look you we’re going for.
💗💗💗
It's encouraging to hear how you've enjoyed this series, Miss Heather! We hope it helps many who are wanting to add English cottage style to their homes on a budget. Thanks for sharing!
Hello Rachel, I just love your kitchen & how it is turning out. You & Matt work have so hard at planning it & bringing it all together. You have inspired me also & my husband & I have a small ordinary kitchen that does not have many upper cabinets. Recently we had a good planning session about how we could so create more storage, keep the kitchen as open as possible as it is small & move more toward a cottage look & feel. So we installed open shelves on one long wall & a smaller set above our island. We painted the walls behind the shelves a new colour & painted the shelves white. The shelves have decorative corbels & are just the right finishing touch. I am just so happy with them & my cottage kitchen is starting to appear. Thank you so much for your inspiration. We have more to do & there will be joy in the planning & seeing it all come together. Blessings, Julie
Oh, I just love design brainstorming sessions like that! It sounds like you kitchen is coming together beautifully! Thanks for dropping by and for sharing Miss Julie. Happy kitchen~ing!
That faucet is fantastic!!
Agreed!

the front of that dishwasher I believe you can turn around and also paint in as also with a stove front. Hint from my handyman who has since retired and I MISS HIM SO he built things from scratch like your husband! What a gem! Lucky you! absolutely LOVE this kitchen I also wanted to do wood tops in my small 70s kitchen, blessings!
Thanks for the tip! You'd love butcher block in your kitchen!
Oh it’s absolutely lovely! Thank you for sharing the process..good and difficult! Have a great day!
So glad you enjoyed your visit, Miss Jill! You have a great day too!
You are the queen of "thrifting". Searching takes so much time and you have mastered it! It is absolutely beautiful. I know y'all are thrilled.
Thank you for the kind words. We appreciate you taking the time to watch!
I’m always stunned by the similarities of our design choices and products for both our English cottage kitchens! Ours also has taken at least 14 months as planning, sourcing, and DIYing. My hubby also does so much…and I’m so grateful for his willingness to help me make such a beautiful space. Our kitchens could be sisters! 😁 I love the corbels, tile, butcher block and faucet/sink combo, colors, and lighting! You guys have done a beautiful job!
How fun to have such similar styles!
I'd love to see your "sister" kitchen! Thanks for stopping by and for sharing. Happy Autumn! 🍁
I can't wait to see how you decorate your kitchen. Its beautiful
That's the icing on the cake!
And it's coming soon!
That is so gorgeous
Thank you, Miss Susan!
You and Matt can be proud of that new kitchen! It really has the English cottage look. I love your persistence and patience in putting together a gorgeous kitchen at an affordable price. Those tiles are beautiful! Well done!
Thank you, Miss Carolyn!
The kitchen is turning out better than I'd imagined! Thanks for stopping by and happy Autumn!
Your remodel looks fabulous! I am hoping to tackle my kitchen next year. This is wonderful inspiration! Thank you for sharing!💕
Yay, inspiring others is what we are aiming for!
LOVE IT!!!
YOU MUST BE IN KITCHEN HEAVEN, AND IT ISN’T EVEN DONE YET.
MATT IS A GEM! YOU TWO WORK SO WELL TOGETHER.
OH MY GOSH!! Rachel, you and Matt never disappoint!! I was a designer and muralist for many years, and I truly love, and agree with, your design method and philosophy. In several previous episodes you have discussed the very intentional way that you search for "new to you" pieces, and just how important it is to go slowly. A kitchen remodel can easily be as expense as many homes. But you made the point, and it is very well taken, that going slowly, and even doing the remodel in stages, can very often keep the home owner from making costly design mistakes. To my mind, and clearly you agree, this can be the most important aspect of the design process. Your cost breakdown is all the proof anyone needs. Had you bought everything new, and replaced the appliances with new ones as well, this remodel could have easily been twenty to fifty thousand dollars, and it certainly would have been if labor had been part of your cost. Every step you took was very well thought out, and you did it while preserving the style of the home. I certainly would say that your end result is every bit as beautiful, if not more so, than most pricey remodels. Well done!!
Thank you for the kind words of support and encouragement. We are glad the design philosophy resonates with you, it seems like the best way to us! Thank you for dropping by and sharing your thoughts!
What a lovely kitchen and thanks for sharing tips on how to keep the cost down. I am really enjoying this series.
Wonderful!
Thanks for sharing, Miss Laura!
We're excited about the next phase. Have a lovely evening. 🍂
Rachel, I'm very happy for you.
It looks absolutely gorgeous. Well done you and Matt😊
Thank you!
I was so excited with you when you opened the faucet box, I’m so happy for you and felt your excitement.. I love the Moroccan Tiles.. Very inspiring! The Kitchen looks fabulous!
Thank you so much!!
Great look!! We also used butcher block for our counters. The left over from the sink cut out was cut down slightly and used for a cutting board to protect the actual counter top.
Excellent idea, thanks for sharing, Miss Catherine!
So so good! The corbels were a fantastic addition.
Completely agree, friend! The corbels are one of my favorite design details on the kitchen!
Can't wait to see you soon!
Hi Rach🤗 the corbels were a great idea. Adds SO much.
Agreed!
Thanks for stopping by!
Beautiful!
Thank you!
What about wallpapering your dishwasher? Also, the peninsula.... does it have to stay? Remove it if you can, find a beautiful rustic English Country Hutch to place against that wall. Better yet, remove that wall separating the den and kitchen.... open that whole space up and create a movable island- you're so resourceful you could find something great! But I love what you've done and thank God there are still men out there that are handy!! You are both blessed! 😊
Good evening, Miss Jennifer!
Currently, we're both thinking of paneling the dishwasher to blend into the cabinetry.
Yes, the island has to stay we use it heavily every day as a baking station, for craft projects, quilting, etc. We also prefer to keep the wall as it gives a definition to each of the three rooms - I'm not a big fan of the open concept look and feel.
Thank you for stopping by and sharing your thoughts!
Mrs.Rachel, It's very inspiring. Love the blue and white tile and the butcher block countertop. So very beautiful. I love the brass faucet. You both have done amazingly thru this kitchen remodel. Thank you so much so sharing.
Thank you for stopping by!
Rachel, your kitchen is beautiful, Matt is the Man with all his skills and your choices on finishes and color is impeccable! 👍❤️
Thank you, Miss Libby!
We appreciate your kind words of encouragement!
