ABOUT SUPERSTORE
America Ferrera and Ben Feldman star in the hilarious workplace comedy "Superstore," about a unique family of employees at a supersized megastore. "Superstore" centers around Amy (Ferrera), who recently was promoted to be the store manager and is the glue holding the place together, and Jonah (Feldman), a dreamer determined to prove work doesn't have to be boring. Their fellow associates include the sardonic Garrett (Colton Dunn), the sweet and clueless Cheyenne (Nichole Bloom), and the perpetually dismissed Sandra (Kaliko Kauahi). Also on the team are Glenn (Mark McKinney), who stepped down as manager in an attempt to have more family time, and Dina (Lauren Ash), the aggressive assistant manager who enforces Cloud 9 policy with an iron fist. Mateo (Nico Santos) was also part of the team, most recently as the self-promoted floor supervisor, until being detained due to his undocumented status.

Janet and Bo are so iconic it feels like they had a lot more screentime than they actually did
Sarah is one of those characters you look for in the background on repeat viewings cause you realize she did something funny when you weren't looking 😂

Is Brett considered as a side character? I love it when the main characters casually allude to him during color wars, or when Jeff mistook Brett for Glenn because he looked like someone who had authority or when Cheyenne and Glenn were on the roof top during a hot store and she admires the snowy cityscape

I was bummed they never even mentioned he left. Especially since Mateo ended up in the pharmacy. It would've been pretty easy too. He sucked at his job and was abusing pills.

Sandra and Marcus aren't side characters imo. They were there early on and involved constantly.
they got bigger characters over the seasons
Just involving Sandra's adventure in pretending Jeff was her boyfriend, makes her a non-side character. cuz that was a very involved plot. all the 'main' characters were involved or talking about. Her B plot morphed into an A.
not too sure about it, but isn't the difference between main cast and side cast an actual contractual thing? So it's not the difference between "is important in the show" and "is not", but rather what the actors have written in their contract.

As others mentioned in the comments, Sandra was a minor character who grew to be a main character over time. So I kind of see it both ways.
