HOME TEE HERO is Garmin's own golf simulator software, which has long been criticized as unrealistic with its cartoon-like graphics. But with the release of the all-in-one Garmin R50 launch monitor & golf simulator, comes an upgraded version of the golf simulator software, which may well be extremely underrated! This was my first time trying it out, so watch as we play my home course Longridge Golf Club, to see whether the simulator version is true to real life, or just a fraud!

Can you test it outside/at the range as well to show that it works flawlessly
It’s unlikely I’ll be able to get my hands on an R50 again anytime soon but I’ll look into it next time I do 👍🏼
Did you have issues of device seeing ball when on tee mine wont work , but when i dont use tee its fine

Hi mate, try to use dark tees (black or blue) and see if it makes a difference
What are the options for aspect ratio to the projector?
It simply mirrors the R50 screen I believe. I don’t think you can adjust aspect ratio
It outputs either 4:3, TV aspect ratio, or 16:9, HD aspect ratio.
What’s the max output resolution the HDMI port will do hooked to a 4k projector? Trying to confirm it outputs at least 1080p?
From what I can gather the projector just mirrors the display & resolution of the R50 screen, which is 800 x 1280
Would you go for this or the GC3?
In my current position, with a full sim setup already, I’d go the GC3
@ Cheers for the reply. I was heading this was for the accuracy mainly. It’s just the face angle on the Garmin that would be nice to have 👍
If club data is important to you then ye you might want to go in the direction of the R50 ⛳️
@@hcpgolf It would be really good to get the face angle at impact as I think that is something that I need to improve but it’s only worth it if it’s accurate data isn’t it? Do you think it is accurate enough to rely upon for improvement? I have seen a few of your videos now - did you decide on which launch monitor you are going for yourself?

@@hcpgolf okay nice. in some other videos it looks like the ball goes right thru them but maybe that's just a trick of the perspective
One thing people don’t think about is how much the R50 is going to push the entire LM market forward. You bet that every manufacturer paid close attention and will be working on their new units that can beat it.

Do you still have the unit? Anyway you can check what your projector is receiving? Been getting a lot of conflicting info on the topic and looking to confirm from someone with hands on.

Anyone else getting flashbacks form the dreaded first bounce from TGC 2019?!! Yikes! While the idea of being able to play 40K courses, I still think I will prefer GSPro for the more realistic look and obviously better physics.
Does this Home Tee Hero have online play and tournaments/leagues? To me, that is what keeps me playing more in my sim.
Haha I thought that when I saw the bounce from my tee shot on the 3rd hole! As far as I’m aware there is no online or tournament play with HTH.

For 5K I’ll just spend another 1,500 more and get the Protee V🤷🏽♂️ I honestly feel Garmin missed the mark with a really big price tag. 3 grand, sure I’m in. 5 grand? There’s better options out there if you spend a lil more… in my humble opinion…
The pro tee VX isn’t a better option, it’s a different option that requires a very particular indoor setup.
@ maybe it’s not better for you. That’s why I said in my first sentence, that I’LL spend 1,500 more and get the Protee V. Just like if I really wanted to spend 20K and get a trackman or other LMs, I could. I’m not a pro golfer so it would be a waste of money… I stay in my lane and what is good for me. That’s how my life works anyways😏

who did you hear that from? compared to what?
Sounds like bullshit to me, there isn’t an official 1:1 testing done yet on any platforms

No, I'm sure it will be every bit as accurate as other 3 camera systems. Maybe out of the box with this just released product it will need a few tweaks but I'm sure Garmin will keep providing updates until it is as accurate or more accurate than other 3 camera LMs out there. They did it with the R10 and this is their flagship product.
