  • This poor Bulldog engine had a hard life. In addition to having all of it's bearings burned out in a fire, it also had a bunch or broken and missing parts. Many years ago, not wanting to spend a pile of money on this project, my Fat Buddy came up with more than a few ingenious "farm fixes" to get the ol' girl goin' again. The bearings shells were made from PVC water pipe, a short piece of fuel line, a hose clamp and a piece of stiff wire was used to construct the timer, and a quick mixer made from some plumbing bits and a piece of heavy gasket paper. The engine was sold to a fellow collector in the Fallbrook area, and my brother did some trading and ended up with it a decade or so ago. My brother replaced the PVC fuel system with a Lunky off of a drag saw, but has otherwise left it as it was.
