Fighting games been doing this for 20 years , "extensions" was DLC before Dlc So Mk3, Mk3 Ultimate, and Trilogy didn't count? Mk4/MKGOLD???? Or Street Fighter 2, 3, 4 or Alpha editions didn't count either? Fatal Fury 2, 3 series, Fatal Fury Real Bout Series, King of Fighters 98/2002 series ... Or the Virtua Fighter series with 4, 4evo? 3, 3tb? 5, Final Showdown, Ultimate showdown? I mean damn .. I know you have your rose colored glasses on but it's not ok to be this stupid.

They’d have to keep their voice actors in a Gulag to finish all their interaction lines It’s either quality with small details with a limited roster, or a roster that’s dense but lacks a lot of the immersive acts to the fights. Like when I play as raiden and have to fight an earth realm champion I can place it as it’s own little canonical story (until I electrocute them into giblets). Or playing as scorpion vs sub zero and depending on the variation of scorpion, they are either best buds or scorpion wants to hit him with a spine tap. I think little details like that are cool, and don’t mind a smaller roster for a game with small details and variables that can change said details. It’s not on the level of things like dishonored, I’d never call MK an immersive sim, but mk 11 has a fine roster with great replay-ability.
I’m pretty sure that was the bad future in MK until Raiden changed the entire timeline in MK history. Most of the characters died in the middle of war in Armageddon which I believe they didn’t return to the series. Shao Kahn almost won by handling Onaga and Blaze easily while the rest of the characters died. Raiden changes the timeline in MK9 when Shao Kahn was about to kill him having Raiden use the emblem to change time including most side villains and Shao Kahn died. He’s just trying to stop timeline that it will never happen again in Armageddon. Idk how timeline works in MK but I’m pretty sure Raiden changed the timeline having most characters lived or still dead. Who knows what happen to each every character in MK around the world be happening to them.
I don’t think we will ever see a roster this big in a MK game ever again since it’s impossible for the story to get to the events of Armageddon unless they reboot the story again but in a remastered original timeline where it does take place.
Well hopefully in the reboot they'd bring a concept like this back. MK 9 and 10 were pretty parallel to MK Trilogy and MK4. So it's a possibility we might get a game parallel to Armageddon

I still want Wu Lae playable, and the Tengu Clan brought back to go against the now allied Shirai Ryu and Lin Kuei. The orange ninja deserves the Tremor treatment. Him and Chameleon are the only canon ninjas that haven't been brought to the new era.
I remember getting this game from someone and my first MK game was Shaolin monks and I thought every mortal Kombat game was like SM but when I got this game and saw all the characters I absolutely loved everything about it I just didn’t play it much and I regret it
Honestly, when I first played this video-game in the “Mortal Kombat” franchise, I thought it was the coolest entry, especially with “Kreate A Fighter”. I’m hoping there is an available PlayStation 2 console for me to buy, as well as a working copy of this game to relive the memories of it all. Also, I would want to continue playing it until I have everything completely unlocked, and I don’t mean just the krypt; I mean EVERYTHING including “Kreate A Fighter”.
