This doesn't shield you at all. You need to take pictures of your gear, and pictures of the serial numbers, and photo copies of your receipts to use to prove it's yours when filing a police report, recovering your stolen goods, and or civil court. Also, if you are able to insure your gear, make sure what you do to show proof of ownership is recognized under your policy.

Unfortunately enough, the only evidence they've got is that he bought it from some shady guy. Did he know it was stolen? Possibly (definitely) yes, but there's no way to actally prove it. Unless they catch the guys who stole the things red handed, there's not much they can do except for putting him in "the hall of lame". Usually, the penalties for "possession of stolen property" aren't that severe.
Ruben Borges Whether you know if it is stolen or not is the difference of whether or not you should be charged with "Possession-" or "Recieveing stolen goods" (different crimes), or if it counts as a misdemeanor or a felony. Both things affect how badly you can be punished: a small fine, or jail time?
LYDY Pranks Knowingly receiving stolen property is a crime, and the fact that he buys expensive electronics regularly at gas stations from kids in a shitty van pretty much nixes his chances of a successful "I didn't know" defense.
"the crime of possession of goods which one knows or which any reasonable person would realize were stolen. It is generally a felony. Innocent possession is not a crime, but the goods are generally returned to the legal owner." If some just randomly comes up and offers you to sell you items, it's been stolen. If you don't think it is you're a idiot and the judge will tell you so as he brings down the gavel.
I thumbs upped but I'm sure the people who disliked it was because the guy basically got away with it. They should have tailed him more until they got evidence to put him in jail.

I just had my car stolen a month ago. It was just recovered 2 days ago. There were burglary tools in the back seat and when I asked the police if they wanted to take possession of them they told me they have so many car thefts in Denver that they don’t investigate and I should throw them away or keep them.
kiel hawkins Perhaps if what was said in that lady’s camera was translated to something, or seen as him displaying it in a way that shows he stole it or knew it was stolen, then there would be concrete evidence to prosecute him in the court of law, and hopefully deport him, if he’s an immigrant. That video should play a large part into how this goes, not his shady meetings with other people or some pictures.

@ jason9022: Are you replying to me, saying possession and selling of stolen property is not a crime in Detroit (actually, Michigan)? If so, may I refer you to Section 750.535 of Michigan law which states "A person shall not buy, receive, possess, conceal, or aid in the concealment of stolen, embezzled, or converted money, goods, or property knowing, or having reason to know or reason to believe, that the money, goods, or property is stolen, embezzled, or converted"? Sounds illegal to me.

Ali N Yassine was in possession of felony level (due to value) stolen goods. He sold those stolen goods. He used a federal service, the US Post Office to ship those stolen goods. There is a high probability he sold stolen goods across State lines. They have both State and federal crimes to charge, arrest and convict him for. They have video surveillance as well as physical evidence to bring before both a State and a Federal Grand Jury to indict him with. With even a hint of investigation, they have enough to lock this man up for a very long time. Why haven't they charged and arrested him?

He's just another victim of white oppression and the patriarchy. Look at the way he gets badgered without his lawyer present. Disgusting display of white power. I'm literally shaking I'm so angry!!
+Chris D wtf 🙁
He's just a idiot. Would be weird for anyone having a camera crew walk up to you at home depot. Luckily if I buy something from Craigslist our police department let's our town use the departments lobby to meet up to buy items online from others . If the person is not cool with it. It's stolen.
rob is an FBI under cover agent im sure about this !! hes a beast
- "Where are you buying all them electronics from?"
- "Uh, people?"
Sums up his IQ perfectly.
*Speach 100*
whats wrong with buying electronics from people i do that all the time
Muslim intelligence for ya.
Michele Haro... Don’t be ignorant and Include Islam in it. What does that have to do with it. Wow
What are people?
0:37 Notice he doesn't deny the accusation, he merely ask: "How do you know"?
I did!!! 🤔
Busted
This guy needs a lot of jail time.
MAXIMDT deport hes ass
MAXIMDT we don’t need these kind of people. They deserve to die
What law did he break??? U guys want to b judge jury and executioner. Time to sue that reporter for slander Ali
I rather see him selling stolen stuff & then blowing stuff up 💣💥
+Grant Peace stop with people type stuff ur why Americans hate us
His heart was pounding extremely fast, Palms are sweaty, praying that he doesn’t get caught
vomit on his sweater already, moms spaghetti
on the surface, he looks calm and ready
Missy TM but does he vomit on his sweater already? Mom’s spaghetti?
Narwhal Warrior Damn u, i was going to write that. Lol.
HolyCrapAA 😂😂
As a pro photographer, I register all of my Nikon equipment with Nikon. And recommend doing the same with all tech equipment.
Won't do a damn thing to keep it from getting stolen
This doesn't shield you at all. You need to take pictures of your gear, and pictures of the serial numbers, and photo copies of your receipts to use to prove it's yours when filing a police report, recovering your stolen goods, and or civil court. Also, if you are able to insure your gear, make sure what you do to show proof of ownership is recognized under your policy.
Can I view some of your pro photos please?
Alf-Einar Sivertsen that's not going to stop anyone from stealing your stuff. Even if they have to sell it to somebody for $100, that's what they will do
Alf-Einar Sivertsen and they can still buy whatever they need for the camera that you have registered from eBay or other places. They don't have to buy it from Nikon so registering it with them really doesn't do much
Wow, one of the best investigative reporters I've ever seen. Great work Mr. Wolchek. I wish more journalists could learn from you.
His eBay is still up so apparently he hasn't done anything the cops care about
No it's not
He could at least spend money on hat
AdriannnTRD damn it honestly I kinda resemble this guy hair and all and truthfully I do wear a hat looks better I promise
gilbert martinez I do
*Is Fox 2 just a giant meme news station*
Lmaoooo
Qufox no fox two news is for Oakland county and Wayne County and more I live in okland county.
Qufox no they are the biggest local news of the largest county in lower Michigan ,I own the apartments down the street from the complex shown on Canfield lol
Michael Ledford you are in Southfield. That’s where they are.
I meant on how they represent the news, it's humorous, especially how the guy narrating/reporter... Just take the joke lol
Yup
Great work. This is what we need to expose criminals.
I now know after 31 years on the question of what I wanna be when I grow up. This reporter
Do these crooks get punished by the law or are they just let off with this hall of shame joke
Xien Tau Possession of stolen property is a crime, you don't have to be the one who stole it or "know" it's stolen.
Xien Tau being wilfully blind is not a defence. something to consider.
Ruben Borges Never said it was. But I'll leave it to the blood-sucking parasites in the court system to sort out what they want to do with this guy.
Why were charges not filed against him for trafficking stolen property. You have the proof. Wtf?
BuLL eTZ they don’t have shit on him , he’s buying stuff from other people and he doesn’t get his own hands dirty .
Innocent possession is not a crime, but the goods are generally returned to the legal owner."
If some just randomly comes up and offers you to sell you items, it's been stolen. If you don't think it is you're a idiot and the judge will tell you so as he brings down the gavel.
Kevin Winn oh okay that’s why he was charged I forgot
BuLL eTZ Because there is no evidence you fucking moron. People resell items all the time.
Michigan.... Where scammers & thieves run wild. Shameful.
i dont kno fox 2 but this old dude is awesome
He's so nervous hahaha😂😂
Antonette Jade he was sweating lol.
Some random guy with a camera comes up to you accusing you of something (whether you did anything wrong or not), you're going to be nervous.
Shifty!
He was just lifting a door onto a cart and it's probably a hot day. Use your brain.
Well yea cuz he didn’t know it was stolen he didn’t steel it
The dislikes are Ali with 520 different accounts
Or he bout a computer that dislikes video because the guy he bout from wasn’t a crack head he looked normal
I thumbs upped but I'm sure the people who disliked it was because the guy basically got away with it. They should have tailed him more until they got evidence to put him in jail.
My name is ali😂😂😭😭
Preston Gray lol
the dislkes are his friends from THE MIDDLE EAST
Take note local law enforcement, this is how you conduct a proper investigation.
I love reporters like this and I respect the salesman for not running. Did you know what you bought was stolen? If anyone bought a 94 Dodge Viper all blue it’s mine. Please help me get it back
Artwon Nowtra Did your Viper have the 2 white racing stripes over the Hood and Body???
My Cibic would crush yer V10............in the quarter mile 🤗
JDM A'F true , only and idiot sells stolen cars especially if they are custom because there are many ways to track it and trace parts. Number plate , licences, rego , vin # and many more . Stripping it and swapping chassis then register it as a new car . Btw I don’t steal cars I just watched a documentary when I was a kid about it and I remember it
Found it I will sell it back to you for 40k
+CLOROX Bleach dude you’re everywhere 🤔 what gives???
i dont think this dudes stealing stuff, but he knows that its all stolen stuff coming to him and thats his game, obviously hes well known.
Here's an idea - don't "buy" if you know it's stolen. Besides, the dude's an idiot if he took snaps and showed himself.
I don't see anything wrong with that... Reporter wanted a story so that's what he got. Yeah the shit might he stolen but there is no way to prove otherwise so move on
I you think it’s stolen then don’t buy it. You can have it both ways. His hands are dirty.
It's stealing if you're paying thieves to steal
he probably pays for the stolen equipment up front...... thief gets $150 for the camera, ali turns around and sells it for nearly $500....
Homedepot door is probably stolen and he plans on getting store credit
Joseph Richardson 😂
Yep. That's why the shit is so high. I WORK AT LOWES
Imagine the person who comes home to find the door to the house missing!
I just had my car stolen a month ago. It was just recovered 2 days ago. There were burglary tools in the back seat and when I asked the police if they wanted to take possession of them they told me they have so many car thefts in Denver that they don’t investigate and I should throw them away or keep them.
He didn't look like a crackhead 😂😂😂😂 will never get old
Imagine how rich rob would get if he opened a patreon
poisenbery yesss lol
isnt this enough to prosecute him?
Cody Stout selling stolen goods.
There’s no evidence of him knowing it is stolen
kiel hawkins Perhaps if what was said in that lady’s camera was translated to something, or seen as him displaying it in a way that shows he stole it or knew it was stolen, then there would be concrete evidence to prosecute him in the court of law, and hopefully deport him, if he’s an immigrant. That video should play a large part into how this goes, not his shady meetings with other people or some pictures.
Lewis yes it is...but its tough to prosecute...
No because you need evidence showing he knew the goods were stolen, but the women can get her money back if she makes a case against him.
Great reporting!!! The trumpet pic is classic. The locating of where her camera took the picture (and recreating the picure in the exact same spot) is legendary!
so is he gonna get arrested wtf
LMVP Truth in Facts he didn’t break the law.
@ jjbrown16: Possession and selling of stolen property isn't a crime in Detroit like it is everywhere else?
@ jason9022: Are you replying to me, saying possession and selling of stolen property is not a crime in Detroit (actually, Michigan)? If so, may I refer you to Section 750.535 of Michigan law which states "A person shall not buy, receive, possess, conceal, or aid in the concealment of stolen, embezzled, or converted money, goods, or property knowing, or having reason to know or reason to believe, that the money, goods, or property is stolen, embezzled, or converted"?
Sounds illegal to me.
hahahaha... Ali's expression is priceless!!!
Give this man a license to arrest or something he’s a hero
no shit sherlock, what did you think adolf hitler
Ranch or Blue Cheese with that word-salad?
Adrian Shephard that's dumb, you're dumb
Rob does better work then whole Detroit Police Department
I am assuming the hall of shame is prison.
Lock him up
Naah, they just put him in the "Hall of Shame", he must feel "bad" now
Deport him
Voice of the People no cut his hands off he won't be able to steal again
Ryan A , If he was back in his Arab country, he would probably get his hands cut off already
Voice of the People I wonder if he supports sharia law?
This is real journalism.
Hopefully he want from the Hall of Shame to the Halls of Justice.
why not call the police
because they generally won't do shit.
Fuck in Detroit the cops are probably the ones breaking in the cars as their side job. Look for that one clip, that guy from fox waits with a homeowner who called the cops when her house was broken into, they don't show up for hours.
yo boi, You obviously don't know how the police operate in the diverse cesspool cities of America. Now if it will get their name on the news, they may do something. Otherwise there are just too many scum bags and not enough police. They are way too busy sniffing out pot smokers. That's how they raise revenue to keep their operation in business. Much more lucrative than busting criminals.
Its not the cops that have turned detroit into a shit hole...
ok but if you’re going to sell someone’s camera that you stole, at least delete this pictures before shipping it
Or ya know, don’t.
Dont give the idiot crooks who didnt think of that ideas, we want them caught lol.
"I work at a gas station"- Imagine my shock
Stfu racist
@@rj6288 not racist but "stereotypical". Lol...
@@jfliguy true
This is awesome! Seriously can't get enough of Rob's reporting! Good on you and def need a raise from the news station and heck the PD should be paying also
Sooooooo. Did you report it to the Police? Did he or any of the thieves get arrested?
"Hall of Shame" means crap if real justice isn't executed..
Good point. So hire some old crepper reporter to follow people around. Spying on poeple and following them is not right.
His face was plastered on national tv, I'm sure he's had some problems b/c of this show
SugarDaddy1963 or you could call the local police departments after watching these vids. You're doing the same thing you're criticizing him for, not reporting illegal activity to the police. You have just as much responsibility as he does. You have video evidence, shouldn't be hard, what's stopping you?
SugarDaddy1963 okay well what do you mean by fake? Like these are actors? If it's fake why are your u worried about them going to jail
So where we're the cops
Anon Anonme *were*
peter kennedy BFD a miss type moron.
Anon Anonme he’s the moron when u mis typed?
Detriot Michigan enough said.
I don't think the cops were a problem, I think the evidence is. 1. his conversation was being recorded without his/his friend's knowledge or consent. 2. there is no actual proof that he is aware he is selling stolen goods. 3. he was being harassed at the end of the video.
SHOW THERE ADDRESS AND PHONE NUMBER
Expat214 good job bud you corrected someone’s spelling in a RUclips comment
_RANDOMNUKES_ Getting some kid vibes. Or an immature teenager.
Lol../ that whole bit of him explaining how he didn’t know the stuff was stolen is priceless “training video” for the FBI etc... just looking at this man in action. His eyes darting all over the place.. stuttering.. lol
You guys are doing AWESOME doing the polices work!!
He shouldn't be in the hall of shame , he should be in prison !
buzzsawblade1 no! Because he is not the one that stole it! This place is Detroit, most black steal and sell!
Shame could be worse than prison... he could be harassed daily by being recognized on youtube, every day by all kinds of people. some might even stab him (it happened)... seriously, shame could be worse.
buzzsawblade1 What about $110 billion
lolindirlink good
Oscar Jacobo sounds like you sell stolen goods too. You are a dumb fuck, handling stolen goods is illegal.
Why the fuck was there no police
Busy shooting some innocent kids probably
Left Hook Larry fucking amazing😂😂😆😆
THEPUFFERFISH 99 because he is not the Thief he buy from people so how the hell he knows if it’s stolen even if he knows it still is not the thief Sherlock Holmes
Its Detroit
The dude behind him whenRob confronted him knew what was happening
Yep, he beat feet
Thy broke out the fenders, too?
Also, gotta love his defense "How do you know?" Rather than defending that the item isn't stolen.
India !!
It's happened to me too one of my neighbors broken into my garage and he stole a $2,000 rims and $180 bike he hid the bike in his house and he sold the rims for $40 to mechanic shop 3 blocks away from my house. And my dad told me to check to any shop around my house and I found my rims. and he told me who sold it to him I got my camera and I want to his house they took out my bike and they went and got my rims back.
I gave the kid a chance. But I have everything on camera.
(( don't buy anything from the street you're helping them to steal more and one day they will steal from you))
Post it
but stolen shit is so much cheaper.....
@Hargaisa black kids make more "mistakes" than anyone.
@@personalbullshiz5570 He didnt even say he was black though 😑 Dumb ass

Does anyone notices the beat from “til I collapse at 3:24 ?
The beginning song was Leslie Gore
“You don’t own me”
Everybody in the 313
throw your motherfucking hand up and follow me
Does anyone notice that oranges are orange? of course everybody noticed... well anybody with some god damn culture better know notice it!
Rob, they don't pay you enough. Great investigative reporting! Thanks to RUclips, you are a National hero.
Dude shoulda just had the cops come and arrest him when he had all that stolen merchandise on him
I am missing a front door, anybody see it. There is a reward.
Rob: "So you don't meet up with guys at gas stations?" Ali: "Well, just when I am lonely...."
You'd think a hard charging detective would love to get 5 easy felony collars.
This is journalism at its finest. And police work at it's worst.
7:02 He lying so hard that boy almost passed out 😂
I'm sure it's been said, but damn, you're in Detroit. Why would you leave anything of value in your vehicle?
James Morgan great question! What do you THINK is going to happen?
I see these clips/videos are from a tv station Fox 2 news Detroit if I remember right anyway I clicked on a link about scams and it took me to your page and I've watched a couple videos that you've posted and I have to say keep doing what you doing you're good at what you do busting people when they've been doing wrong taking money from the elderly and scamming people out of their entire income not repairing vehicles etc you have a new subscriber here I'm from Southern California we need more people out here like you take care of business you're the man!
"Who you buying them from?"
"People"
Sounds airtight to me
His eyes were darting all over the place, looking for a way outta the mess he created for himself. I hate that all these guys ever seem to get is put in the "Hall of Shame" instead of the "Hall of Prison Bars"...
Kelly's story really broke my heart... Here's some poor lady who was following her innocent passion in life only to have this POS steal it and sell it back to her... I had to buy back a bunch of my own paintings once because I couldn't prove that it was them who actually stole them.. Sometimes I wonder if my anger toward horrible people will one day get the best of me.
I know the feeling you have. Idiots and injustice around the world have caused me great apathy towards the human race in recent years.
Always great musical choice to go w the theme. Great job rob top notch investigative reporting
