There was a time eons ago, this was under the Tethys Ocean/Sea/Channel. See the striations of build up from the sediments over millennia. Good catches.

Mother Nature turning mountains into mole hills. They should put a stone crusher by the pile of debris. There's a fortune in sand and gravel sitting there. Judging from the rust color of the rock fall, there's another fortune in iron ore.

Das ist oberhalb des 3er Wanderwegs zwischen Gaisele und Rossalmhütte, richtig? War da vor 2 Jahren. Aber heißt die Gleine Gaisl auf italienisch nicht Croda Rossa Pizora? Und auch wenn die Geologen sagen, dass sei ein ganz natürlicher Vorgang, ist es doch irgendwie auch traurig zu sehen wie so ein Berg zerkrümelt wie ein alter Kuchen.

Montagne Dolomiti, North West of Italy. That mountain is called "Croda Rossa", on the border between the provinces of Bolzano and Belluno.
