Great video. Also, when you were talking about how CN never really had any unique branding, back when Cartoon Cartoon Fridays and the city era existed it was essentially that. Crossovers with their shows. Also, Cartoon Network had compilation DVDs of their shows on one disc around the time Nick Picks were releasing. CN Halloween and CN Christmas just to name a couple
As a huge SpongeBob fan it broke my heart to hear that you weren’t that into it. Normally I turn away from any Nick videos where the person isn’t into SpongeBob, but I’ve never seen anyone cover this topic so I had to stay. (Thanks for not blaming SpongeBob for ruining Nickelodeon or anything like that. Respect ✊)
12:42 people still hate Fear of a Krabby Patty just for coming out after the movie? Weird that episode was made by one of the classic SpongeBob workers too. C.H. I think it was, worked on many popular season 2 and 3 episodes.
Cartoon Network not having brand synergy? Tell this to the Cartoon Cartoon Friday, CN City, Fusionfall and Punch Time Explosion. And they did have their own variety pack DVDs, even if they were exclusively holiday themed.
I'm so glad someone actually did a video on these! Outside of Collection videos and Afew Videos On The Christmas DVD these really don't get talk about as much as they probably should because I find them fascinating I own all the DVDS and I don't know how to describe it but there's a certain charm to me watching old nickelodeon compilations dvds like these and I'll always love the fact these introduced me to Catscratch and Chalkzone which are 2 of my favorite Nicktoons You can definitely tell these dvds sold less and less as they went on as Nick Picks 1 and 2 you can find pretty cheap as far as I can tell as well as the Christmas one however 3 4 and especially 5 cost a good penny and it took me forever to complete my collection because of that and what really fascinates me about these Nick Pick dvds it how it's the only way you can watch Catscratch The X's and Mr. Meaty without Piracy and has to this day never got official digital releases of any kind, I'm also alittle surprised you didn't bother bringing up the Nick Jr. Set of these because what makes that even more interesting is how they actually did release the 6th one to that If I was to give alittle criticism however since you said you couldn't really judge alot of the episodes on Nick Picks 4 you could have used Paramount+ to watch the episodes that are available there, even if you don't have the streaming you could have just gotten a free trial and ended it when done Sorry if this comment is just abunch of rambling but I'm glad someone bothered to do a video on these and I enjoyed the video and if your reading this I appreciate it
I actually did end up watching a couple of the Nick Picks 4 episodes on a free trial a little while after making this video! Gotta say, not at all impressed by the Danny Phantom pick, but the MLAATR and Jimmy Neutron ones were really fun!
Here's my pitch for "Cartoon Network Picks" Seven shows included - Dexter's Laboratory - The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy - Ed, Edd n Eddy - Codename: Kids Next Door - Johnny Bravo - Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends - Courage the Cowardly Dog
Same thing with "Disney Channel Picks" Seven shows included - The Proud Family - Recess - Kim Possible - DuckTales (1987) - American Dragon: Jake Long - Lilo & Stitch: The Series - Phineas and Ferb
8:07 I agree with ya. This show was good, but not fantastic as the other goofy cartoons I've seen. The only seasons that stand out to me were Season 1 and the Vincent Waller era seasons, as well as the first movie. Yes, I did enjoy some of the other seasons episodes like Chocolate with Nuts, Fear of a Krabby Patty and Wet Painters, but... they aren't up there as Pizza Delivery, My Leg, Sir Urchin and Snail Fail or Big Birthday Blowout. I just prefer the wackiness of the series, alongside The Patrick Star Show.
I’m imagining five fan-made hit entertainment favourites DVDs called hit entertainment picks (based on of course the Nick picks DVDs, not counting the Christmas one) with some shows from Jim Henson and Aardman to be as these Nickelodeon shows: fraggle rock as rugrats, Thomas and friends as SpongeBob SquarePants, Rubbadubbers as fairly odd parents, Bob the builder as the adventures of Jimmy neutron, animal jam as all grown up, Kipper as Danny phantom, Angelina ballerina the next steps as my life as a teenage robot, Shaun the sheep as catscratch, Toddworld as the Xs and Frances as Mr. Meaty and the episodes on each volume will be: Hit entertainment picks volume 1: animal jam a hug a day, Thomas and friends Molly’s special special, Rubbadubbers finbar and the green hat gang, Bob the builder snowed under (movie), kipper the magic lamp, Angelina ballerina the next steps Angelina’s nature dance and fraggle rock the preachification of convincing John Hit entertainment picks volume 2: Rubbadubbers Terence the spy, animal jam everything’s spring in up, Thomas and friends mighty Mac, Thomas and friends Thomas’ day off, Angelina ballerina the next steps Angelina and the disco dance craze, Bob the builder lofty’s shelter, kipper the flying machine and fraggle rock blanket of snow blanket of woe Hit entertainment picks volume 3: animal jam take a seat please, Thomas and friends Thomas and the birthday mail, Shaun the sheep take away, Bob the builder scoop’s recruit, kipper space invaders, Angelina ballerina the next steps Angelina and the tummy butterflies, Rubbadubbers farmer sploshy and Rubbadubbers silly sploshy Hit entertainment picks volume 4: animal jam battle of the animal jam bands, Thomas and friends Emily and the garbage, Rubbadubbers Reg in square world, Rubbadubbers Amelia the diver, Toddworld quill she or won’t she, Bob the builder Benny’s back, kipper water water everywhere and Angelina ballerina the next steps Angelina’s trick or treat feat Hit entertainment picks volume 5: Thomas and friends Thomas and the jet plane, Frances a whiny sister for Frances/a cupcake for Frances/bedtime for Frances, Bob the builder when Bob became a builder, kipper the missing tape mystery, Angelina ballerina the next steps Angelina’s secret valentine, Toddworld bark like a cat and Shaun the sheep stick with me
Lol no there was just like one clip I used that got caught by the copyright bots so I figured I’d make a new version that covers that clip up (it should’ve been done weeks ago but I procrastinated lol). The old vid’s still there for now, gonna give it a little while before I unlist that and I’ll remove the big [REUPLOAD] from this title.

The Nick picks DVDs are the only media release the Catscratch series ever had…
Really??? That’s wild.
So as mlaatr and the x's
And also Mr. Meaty
@leafster3117 Catscratch, teenage robot and the x's all have videonow releases. However, this is the only home media release of mr. meaty
Noggin/Nick Jr had good branding too imo. Disney Channel as well, but more in live action shows and original movies
Cartoon Network not having brand synergy?

I own all the DVDS and I don't know how to describe it but there's a certain charm to me watching old nickelodeon compilations dvds like these and I'll always love the fact these introduced me to Catscratch and Chalkzone which are 2 of my favorite Nicktoons
You can definitely tell these dvds sold less and less as they went on as Nick Picks 1 and 2 you can find pretty cheap as far as I can tell as well as the Christmas one however 3 4 and especially 5 cost a good penny and it took me forever to complete my collection because of that
and what really fascinates me about these Nick Pick dvds it how it's the only way you can watch Catscratch The X's and Mr. Meaty without Piracy and has to this day never got official digital releases of any kind, I'm also alittle surprised you didn't bother bringing up the Nick Jr. Set of these because what makes that even more interesting is how they actually did release the 6th one to that
If I was to give alittle criticism however since you said you couldn't really judge alot of the episodes on Nick Picks 4 you could have used Paramount+ to watch the episodes that are available there, even if you don't have the streaming you could have just gotten a free trial and ended it when done
Sorry if this comment is just abunch of rambling but I'm glad someone bothered to do a video on these and I enjoyed the video and if your reading this I appreciate it

I'm surpised you didn't mentioned Nick Jr Favorites, another Nick compilation from the 2000s. I grew up with both Nick Picks and that.
For your complaint that 90s nick pick would be cool have you ever heard of the out of the vault dvds there 90s nick picks there great
I'd say Fear of a Krabby Patty is a really good choice, probably the best Spongebob choice out of the ones in the first 3 volumes imo
I love the song in the my life as a teenage robot Christmas special

I have volume 1 I’m ordering volume 3 and the Christmas dvd
SHOUT! Factory started doing collections like this in the 2010s under various names. I have the “Unearthed Gems” collection released in 2022.
Video idea: You try to make your own nick pick dvd (not physical). This is just an idea you can do.
13:44 That's featured on the 5th volume.

I enjoyed this video, good work
i actually have the whole collection.
I loved this video and the nick picks dvd but don’t dis mr. Meaty ever again it was genuinely a good show
No way it was meant for kids though.
I loved this show growing up too! My siblings and I used to quote episodes all the time haha
Oh no, what happened?! Did the big meanies take your other video down????
Lol no there was just like one clip I used that got caught by the copyright bots so I figured I’d make a new version that covers that clip up (it should’ve been done weeks ago but I procrastinated lol). Tbh, I always really loved Mr Meaty. That show is so funny and wonderfully chaotic 🍖 💛🤎
