Nah, it was an interesting experiment, but it doesn't work well. Post-game analysis belongs to the after-the-game part of the video. Cutting off the action (18:35), asking a question, then asking to pause the video, count down 5-4-3-2-1, then announcing that "this is my big-big mistake"... OK, now the game is spoiled, the flow of the game has been disrupted, and the whole magic of being part of an event that unfolds in real-time has evaporated. The aggressive editing that cuts away the interaction in the chat at the start of the video (1:43), is already bad enough. Mixing live commentary with post-game analysis doesn't make things any better for the viewers.
@@JohnSmithExI liked the analysis a lot, it just needs to be clear that any mistakes that are analyzed aren't indicative of a loss. if every video had these despite winning/losing i think it drastically improves the quality/viewer experience
@@benh9339OK, at least the title should indicate that the video is not pure gameplay. Something like "TOP 40 Catan Gameplay with Embedded Post-Game Analysis - Catan Pro Climbs the Ladder", so that the viewers are informed about what they are going to watch.
Felt bad for orange when his rank was called out. While that may also occur in tournaments, it feels like it takes a lot of fun out the game to havw a target put on you so early in the game

A wise man once said, a mono for tempo is better than a mono for next game. I really like these in media res post game discussions, they add some flavor to the decisions and provide food for thought.
I am sure that when they create an analysis program for Сatan, the blunder will be in the region of loss 5-8% equity (8% is blunder in backgammon but in modern super competitive era blunder is 5% at now). In terms of structure of this game(Catan) 8% of equity on play seems unrealistic amount of loss of equity for 4 player game...i think so number will be around 5% or lower and all this sequence of decisions at 18:37 seems as blunder sequence, yep.
