My primary concern with moving forward with medical coding is the very real possibility that the health care industry could be going through some major turmoil with the incoming administration.
A medical practice or hospital has to be paid irregardless of any new political party or administration that goes in. Life keeps going on. Patients keep needing to be seen. And providers and facilities need to keep being paid.
Hi. It's interesting that you would mention how it's essential to want to do Continuing Education, because since I have been out of work as a massage therapist, I have been working on a packet of 13 hours of courses from Elite Learning and I have been studying an online and textbook course every day. I was wondering, would it be alright if I sent you a link to my resume. I tried to apply something that you had talked about on one of your other videos, and I wanted to see if I had understood and applied what you had said properly. Thanks. I like watching your videos.
Hello Bleu! I know AAPC allows an individuals to sit for the CPC-A exam without any prior credentials. Does AHIMA offer something similar, where you can take their certification exam without needing specific prerequisites or experience??
Hi Bleu, thank you for the guidance and idea of medical coding. I have CPC certification, and was initially doing SDS and was unfortunately transitioned to RA stayed for a year. Within that year I was able to have my apprenticeship removed. I watched this video to check how far behind since we only handle ICD 10 CM in RA and was assessing if I need to update my CPT's. We handled 2023 and applying 2024 icd for October dates the entire year. I wanted to update the CPT's since it is part of the CPC certification and I am worried that cpt is not part of our work so I have no practice on it. I am planning to take a break from RA or resign to update the CPT's. Are there other certifications that could cater to CPT updates only coming from a CPC level?
Good Morning Blue, thank you for the time you take to do these videos they have helped me so much. I'm looking for that remote job (because of where I live 2 hrs from anywhere) until I find it i need to practice practice practice do you know beyond Practicode if there are any sites one can do practice cases with feedback
Visit your local workforce office or Google Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act to see if you qualify. I also list the independent study with the syllabus and books in the description box of all my videos.
Thanks so much!! ❤ I let my family hear your answer, I took the job.

I would just stay focused on coding... but that's me. 💯

The ahima.org website covers that.

Yep, I took a coding student position for $10.32 an hour but you were put in a coding job at market salary in 6 months. This was in 2008
What if you don't want to work from home? How do you go about that?

I would like to know if there are any grants to do this. Because, its kinda high in this economy. Or if you go through AAPC is there a payment plan?

Bleu can you recommend a resume professional to help review?
You know, I'm a resume writer, I said it in the video.
@MedicalCodingwithBleu how can I connect with you for this?
