They cut so much of Johanna’s tragic character from Mockingjay. How she won her games by pretending she was weak, until she was one of the few people left, then brutally murdering everyone else with her axe. Her entire family getting murdered by Snow when she refused to do what he asked to his face. That was only briefly mentioned when she says “He can’t hurt me, there’s no one left that I love.” about the jabberjays sounding like the screams of family and friends in the arena and just Snow in general. The part of her getting flashbacks from her time being tortured by The Capitol via being nearly drowned then almost electrocuted to death every time she touches water. She lost all of her belongings from her home in District 7. Her becoming addicted to morphling was much more prominent in the book. When Katniss gives her a bag filled with pine needles to remind her of home, she has tears in her eyes. After that, she makes Katniss swear on her family’s life to kill Snow. They start becoming friends and are allowed to train to fight in the Capitol. In the final test, the soldiers face their weakness, her’s being water. The fake street is flooded with water, her goal is to swim across it, instead he breaks down crying and screaming. She isn’t allowed to fight at the Capitol as the doctor fear that the trauma is too much. The news of Finnick’s death hit her hard because she was the only friend she had other than Katniss. When Katniss kills Coin instead of Snow, she feels betrayed. She has to live the rest of her life suffering from trauma in an empty house. This has been a long rant and I’m sorry. I feel like the movies didn’t do her character justice in a lot of the parts she was in.
finally someone who gets it. Johanna should have gotten sooooooo much more screen time and it would be so cool if we could get a movie all about her and her life growing up i would watch a movie like that on repeat
they should just make a straight up prequel about her life rather than presidents snows. don’t get me wrong i think the prequel was good i just think that it would have been better with a different character like johanna or the careers

Even though the scene in the elevator where Jenna Malone strips off her clothes in front of two guys and a girl wasn't going to show any nudity on screen in the PG-13 film, she decided to take her clothes off for real. So the crew and actors saw her naked the entire time. So did hotel guests and staff when the door opened a few times since they were filming on location. Jenna Malone revealed in an interview that while she was "so excited" to portray the novel's famous strip tease in the elevator, she was a little disappointed she wasn't able to be fully nude in the iconic scene. She said "We're very faithful to the adaptation, so in the elevator I did have to pretty much almost take everything off, unfortunately, there was a part of the wardrobe that I couldn't." Malone doesn't reveal which part she couldn't remove, but she does add that the strip down was less about being nude and more about "wanting to see if she could actually perform a full strip in only six seconds. Zoe Aggeliki and Mia Wasikowska were considered for the role of Johanna Mason.

Also her character is basically giving off "tacky act" vibes as she said to katniss about her role, overall i think her character faces a massive degrade simply in the clips i watched of her im too scared to watch the full movie now

She was definitely one of my favorite characters in the whole series. Her story was so tragic though :(.
