What's so special with the great Mehdi Hassan Saab was the fact that he had a GOD-GIFTED ability to render the tragic and romantic nuances of a URDO couplet with equal proficiency ! Perhaps, that might have been the reason as to why the great Khan Saab was able to offer epoch-making masterpieces at frequent interval with consummate ease ! Here, in this ghazal, the great Mehdi Hassan Saab was at his romantic best ! I have this ghazal in my proud possession in the form of a CD procured several years back ! What a beautiful composition it was ! How soulful the great Khan Saab was in performing it ! Hat's off to the great Mehdi Hassan Saab for this beautiful bandish ! He had a rare GOD- GIFTED ability to make the most difficult of the ragas look pretty simple -- for instance -- ragas like Raag Darbari and Raag Sahera -- to name a few ! Perhaps, the great Khan Saab was the finest improvisation artist in the world ! What's even more astounding to note was the fact that in doing so, the great Mehdi Hassan Saab had been able to maintain an absolute control over lafz, sur, taal, and loy, while keeping the purity of ragas intact ! How right was Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Saab in his assessment in saying -- "No one can ever compete with Mehdi Hassan Saab in so far as his control over sur was concerned !"
Pakistan is the home land for urdu & all famous singers weather from India or pakistan have to learn urdu to be successful.Especially the pronunciation has to be perfect & that where the pakistanis have the upper hand over Indians, because in urdu poetry has many many persian words which are in common use for a pakistani but no doubt some of the best & outstanding clasical singers are Indians....as well....
Ye gajal aur Sangeet ke khuda hai hemesha rehenge ye bemishal hai eska koi bhi tulna sambhev nehi hai khuda inki rooh ko jannat beksi hogi aise funkar behut kem huye thhe es kaynot me enko sunker kitne singer apni teqdir badle hai inko sat sat namen pranam ibadet meri terf se aur inke janam dene wale mata pita aur ustad ko bhi pranam use bhumi ko pranam jaha inka janam huwa aur use kermbhumi ko tehe dill se selam jaha rehker ye es mukam ko hashil kiye

The great Mehdi Hassan Saab was the Brightest Jewel in the World Of Ghazal Gayiki and infact, its Crowning Glory ! The great Khan Saab had given ghazal gayiki a pedestal which will be difficult to surpass ! He was the ULTIMATE in GHAZAL GAYIKI ! There will never be another Mehdi Hassan !
There are so many gems by the Great Mehdi Hassan, although he is no more. he has left a legacy in Kamran Hassan, just as good as he was or even better, listen to Kamran Hassan and you will be just as happy as Kamran sounds almost at par with his dad Ustad Mehdi Hassan who is no longer with us.
Do u remember what u ppl did with Mohammad Aziz Shabbir kumar and Anwar Hussain. Aziz died in anonimity. Shabbir and Anwar are waiting for death. Jobless.
