    if you extended the pipework at the 'T' and then fitted the aav. would this solve having to have 2 units installed rather than the 2 you have shown. in essence creating a mini stack

    So I assume this allows fresh air to go into the pipe, but somehow not allow the methane / polluted air to leave the pipe?

      Not exactly: Ventilo is useful to fix ventilation problems of an incorrectly designed system through the intake of air from outside. The lack of proper ventilation of the system can cause back-syphonage, self-syphonage and the return of foul odours inside the bathroom.
      You can find a full explanation here: www.valsir.it/en/prodotti/sistemi-scarico/ventilo

      There is a check valve

    Here in the UK we would not be allowed to fit the air admittance valve so low on the pipework, it would have to be fitted above the highest water level at the basin

      Hello! The European standard that regulates air admittance valves for drainage systems (EN 12380) defines 2 classes of aerators. The difference lies between those that can be installed only above the sanitaryware and those that can be installed both above and below. Ventilo is in class A: it can be installed in both ways.

    Can you use these on all of the rooftop sewer vents on a building where foul sewer odor is coming down including the area around and inside the building?

    • @progettivalsir
      @progettivalsir  3 года назад +1

      The air admittance valve can be installed on rooftop vents, but it needs to be protected from sunlight (shaft, attic...), and the flow rate of the stack shall be checked to guarantee the correct balance of the system.
      The air admittance valve allows the ventilation of the stacks while preventing stale air leakages. On top of this, it solves the problem of siphoning.

    Could somebody answer me this please, i didnt understand. At first situation when there was no vent, he flushed closet and the closet siphoned itself, and then later he flushed it again and then it siphoned out the tub. So i didnt get it, did it really siphoned out both the closet and the tub at the same time? Because it seems logically that it should be enough just for one fixture to get siphoned out to get the required air to the system (with the closest(shortest) way to get the air in).

      In the video you can see two scenarios:
      In the first one the sanitary fixture drains without a ventilation system and the trap loses most of the water.
      In the second one we added a “Ventilo” Air Admittance Valve diam 110 mm on the drainage stack, ensuring the proper ventilation. We can connect the “Ventilo” Air Admittance Valve below the sink after the trap thanks to some fittings (45° bend and 45°branch); doing this the valve ensures the ventilation needed in order to balance pressures and avoid the trap drying.
      “Ventilo” Air Admittance Valve must be installed vertically and is available in two diferent models to suit any diameter, from a technical and economical point of view it is the best possible solution in order to address the pressure balancing problem.

    why you make 2 vents i think one is enough

    • @progettivalsir
      @progettivalsir  2 года назад

      In the video, the two vents are installed to show the system at its full potential. If both the large and the small model cannot be installed, the larger one has to be preferred, with the idea that it will probably be sufficient for the entire system.

      I guess using the small one in the lav, you'd wet vent the WC.
