    I’m so happy I found this video. I am applying for PTA in Spring ‘22 and as a fellow person of color this is inspiring. One thing that is wild that I been hearing for years is that companies will eventually get rid of the PTA position. I call cap because if I’m running a company and I would need X amount of licensed therapists, it’ll make more sense(cents) to save money by having some PTAs on staff for treatments only so PTs can handle with evaluations and re-evaluations. Thank you for the content!

    im 20 years old and just got my ged at the beginning of the year after leaving school due to illness in 8th grade. im finally at a healthy place and can start thinking of a future, which had kind of been out of the picture the last several years, and i have been so overwhelmed with the pressure of choosing the one thing i'll do forever. but a few months ago, i had to start physical therapy and it really feels like something clicked. i think i might want to be a pta!! i've developed such a fascination with how our bodies work and our anatomy and kinesiology since dealing with my own health, but am faaar too squeamish to be a doctor/nurse unfortunately. so when i started pt and realized that i could learn about a lot of the same things that interest me without the, well, icky parts (haha), i got so excited. every one of my pt sessions has honestly been amazing and i'm so intrigued by everything my physical therapist does (i'm sure i annoy her with the amount of questions i ask but i can't help it, it's all so cool lol!). this video was such an awesome insight into what being a pta can be like and is definitely inspiring me to start thinking more seriously about this. i LOVED watching this. thank you!

Often times when I look around at my community college we are sadly few and far in between. I have an interview next week for the PTA program starting this Fall. I am freaking out Danielle! I am SOOOO nervous. I have been practicing and trying to remain calm as I ask myself possible sample questions. Do you have advice as to how to approach your PTA interview with confidence? Did you practice beforehand possible responses? I am trying to avoid sounding rehearsed and unnatural, however I am scared that I might stumble or forget my words. How did you stand out in such a competitive program? Our program here is limited to only 16 students. I would appreciate any input you have! Thanks for the inspirational video. Be blessed! Kisa 😊

    Cool video it looks like you had two camera footages of one in the clinic setting and the other in your 🚗 car? So you were able to edit both using the editing software by Kinemaster I suppose? The only thing I don't like so much was hearing music 🎵 as I wanted to get a feel of a day in the life of a PTA and hear the dialogue between patients and you guys but it's ok. But thank you for sharing some of the exercises at the end I do myself. Lol funny 😅 how you said that we weren't going to see the patients faces but only one was covered in the end maybe because they didn't consent to being filmed, go figure some people are more private. Masha'Allah yet thank you for sharing. im a year late to this video but still wanted to comment: i’ve watched videos and read so many articles/blogs or what have you, and they are saying PTAs will be phased out, with poor job growth. this doesnt make sense to me as physical therapy will always be needed- do you agree with this? also a personal question, what was your take home salary at the OP clinic you were at + state? thanks so much

    • @DanielleStringfellow
      @DanielleStringfellow  2 года назад +2

      Thank you for watching! 🤗 With the phased out portion, I have no earthly idea. I was also hearing that why, I was in school. I’ve also heard they have been saying it for years. I don’t mind any of that, I trust and have Faith that God has me at the beginning/end of everyday. To me they would lose out on so much business if they were to rid the PTAs. & not only that the therapist would be so burnt out on evaluation, treatments, and documentation. So, that would cause a serious problem,if they do decide to make a choice like that. My take home salary from that job in this video was about 42,900 in the state of TN. I hope this helps😊💕 check your Instagram I sent you a message back. Thank you so much again for watching 💕

      Heyyy Thee Drawholic Artologist, you’re not bothering me!! Thank you for watching!! Congratulations on 7 yrs of being a surgical tech!! Some disadvantages are not getting the setting you want to work after you pass boards lol, well that was a disadvantage for me! But we will have our own things we think are disadvantages.. My hardest class was Cardio!! It was hard bc it went by really fast (4weeks) no time to actually learn Cardio just skimming really!! Neuro was kinda stressful in the beginning but I pushed through it and it’s a lot of things you have to learn and remember for the board but it’s very much doable!! I’m 5’2 and most of my patients tower over me!! Don’t let that discourage you.. when it comes to patient safety you will definitely make sure you have their best interest at heart. I’ve seen itty bitty women very petite handle this job like a pro and taller women that workout daily fold like a rag!! So, I’m saying all this to say you got this girl!! And you have to do labs/clinicals before they set you free on your own anyway!!

    Hi! I’m not sure you’re going to see this but I’m thinking about becoming a PTA instead of a PT because of time and money. Is the man that’s helping the patient a PT or a PTA? I’m trying to figure out what a PTA does during a regular shift and a lot of what the man in the orange shirt is doing is what I’d like to do. Thanks 😊

    • @DanielleStringfellow
      @DanielleStringfellow  Год назад

      Hello Old Spaghetti, that was my reasoning for becoming a PTA. Shorter time and I was ready to be in my career. You have to do what’s best for you. The man in the video name is Jonathan, DPT and he’s the owner of the OP clinic. So, basically PTAs can do it all except eval’s/assessments, (although if you’re PT trust you to do this they might let you) etc.. but we both PTAs/PTs treat pt’s and come up with the best treatment for the patient. PTs have a lot of paperwork they have to document on and we as PTAs have daily documentation we have to do on the treatment we perform on patients daily. I hope that explains it some and was a little helpful. Thanks for watching 😊
