I used to work at Paramount's Great America on the West Coast years ago and we had the Borg rollercoaster (it was called Stealth when we had it). At least it's still running.
but seriously tho, without cedar point, carowinds would've have been like how it is today, I mean no fury, intimidator just think about it, paramount was great but carowinds today is WAY better.
I remember going here; I actually work right across from it, as a kid I remember rarely ever seeing Scooby, and he would be away from the Nickelodeon meet and greet.
It’s crazy how much the park has changed since this video was taken. Cedar Fair really did a fantastic job investing in this park and turning it into a destination park. The additions of Intimidator, Fury and Copperhead Strike have been a massive success for Carowinds. It’s hard to imagine the park without any of those rides, but especially Fury. I’m not used to not seeing it’s massive presence sticking out in this video.
I luv carowinds i only live 15 min away from it ! My favorite ride is the nighthawk u get to lay down and u get flipped over while riding its so awesome !! :D
Park Employees and the group that installed the coaster (NOT Vekoma, but the group that installed it) were the first to ride it. You might have been the first paying customer to ride it, but not the first. Plus it was a used coaster anyway. Hundreds of Thousands of people had rode it before it had ever arrived at Carowinds.
What? No it wasn’t. Paramount treated the park like the forgotten stepchild when they owned it. They never sought to actually build new rides or invest in the park. Their additions were just rides they imported from other parks. I would never have considered making a trip to Carowinds during the time Paramount owned the park. Cedar Fair has actually poured millions of dollars into a multitude of investments for the park for renovations, expansions and three new major rides, which have served to turn Carowinds into a national destination. Cedar fair has done a tremendous job with the park and shows that they still have plans to continue to invest in the park. I imagine we’ll see more new rides in the future as well as continued renovation. I love the area surrounding copperhead strike. That little frontier/folksy town that it is there. The new Aeronautica section is pretty neat to. I imagine we’ll see more theming in the years to come.
I wish carowinds was still owned by paramount. Now since cedar fair owns it everything has changed. Nickelodeon central was changed to snoopy and I dont like it. Altho I do like the addition of the intimidator and the carolian cobra. I also miss the carowinds park sign.

It was an alright video. I think the still picture zoom was overly used and its kinda hard to make an attention catching video to a musical score thats kinda mellow to a park thats action packed but it was an alright video
I live 3 minutes away from carowinds! Except that paroumount doesnt own carowinds anymore....F*** THAT! I miss old carowinds and i dont like cedar point alot but, well , we renewed our passes and well cedar point should have never bought it!
I wonder why they keep changing the name of most of the rides. Like the scooby doo rollercoaster ride is now the Fairly odd parents and the borg is called the night hawk? and top gun to afterburn?? when did they do all this?

the only good memory of pararmount carowinds coasters was that nighthawk was the Danny phantom ride, and I wanted to get on it, but I was too short

i think the white water rapid ride is the best at carrowinds, but i love it there

Carowinds is a lot better now that Cedar Fair owns it. They have made such great improvements to the park (Intimidator, Fury, Carolina Habor, etc..).
