    Hi all! I know some people have said the template link is wrong or missing. It has always still worked on my end but I updated it just to make sure. You should see the sample logo files, a CS6 version of the template and an .ait version which should be the right one for the majority of you!

    I've been a professional designer for nearly 20 years, but I'm also autistic. I'm constantly looking for the "right" way to do something because that's how my brain works. If it's not right, don't bother, right? But over time I've learned that what's "right" for someone else isn't right for me or even my clients. What you've done here is provide guidelines for designers to learn a great method that can easily be adapted for any situation. Following. You're a great tutorialist.

      One thing that I realized is that this is CYMK format... Wouldn't you use an RGB Format for social media and web based platforms?

    • @addisongabe
      @addisongabe  3 года назад

      Good catch! It honestly should be set to RBG. Personally, I don't stress too hard on CMYK / RGB unless there are lots of blues in the logo because that is the main color that does not translate very well to CMYK. Most of my clients lean far more digital than print so really the template should be RBG. I'll update it! Thanks!

    What I always say to myself when my brain is comparing me to someone else is that, what my brain is doing its grapling onto a very little piece of the life of the other person and puts that little piece in contrast with all the roles of my life, so even if someone is going through a rough time in other aspects of their life my brain can't process that because it doesn't know, just wanted to share this thought, great video

      Hey Sonny! It doesn't matter if the file is RBG or CMYK as far as how the export process works. But it may be a good idea to do separate Ai files for the different color setups if needed. Most of my clients are purely digital so typically I just do RGB. Great question!

    Thanks for the tutorial. Only thing i don't understand for this is how to save out the files for print. Seems to me like you've taken that template in CMYK and saved them all out with the 'export for screens' option... like, does that not convert it to RGB? Then how do you bulk save the CMYK files and specify the sizes etc? Apologies if i've missed something.

    • @addisongabe
      @addisongabe  3 года назад

      Yes, great points. 2 things:
      1. I've changed the template to RGB. That was my bad. It should've been to start.
      2. This method isn't set up well for exporting for print. Most of my clients are mainly digital, so that's what we lean towards. I'll have to look into a pure CMYK option and make another video. It doesn't seem easy at first glance.

    • @addisongabe
      @addisongabe  3 года назад +1

      After poking around, I found that if the document is CMYK and you export with "Export for Screens," it will still honor the CMYK format for the PDF!

      So glad I could help. For me, I go with somewhere around 1500. Mainly because PNGs should be limited use - things like social media or digital graphics - anything bigger, I would point people towards the PDF versions as those are technically vectors and can scale up however big needed!
