So my comment was too early if I had waited to the finish I would have had my answer, so these so-called "game changers" don't work in prototypes, fuckin hell...
They do have component-specific prototype transition coming. That will allow you to use these variants to react to changes like hover without having to make a separate page just to visualize that change (like we have to do now).
I believe the dynamic components feature was supposed to hit in January so they're clearly behind but it shouldn't be too long before its available. I too had hoped the variants would come out at the same time as dynamic components but having played with variants I would say they are quite valuable in their own right.
OMFG Can this sh:t thing create a simple fuckin switch that works in prototype, dafuq is its use if it's not gonna work in prototypes can someone help me pls, I am fuckin lost, I managed to do this in a couple of seconds in Adobe Xd why cant this thing be as simple... hate it when your company forces you to use a tool u hate, I hate figma
This is awesome, thank you for the helpful video! :D
There's alot of variants to variants, really confuses me. Kinda miss XD in situations like these but corporate strategy broke us apart.

Yes, you can create design system that doesnt work in prototype mode, without creating "Overlays" so this new feature is useless for me.
