  • Who say Rub a Dub style!
    Lots of Westfinga high pass filter on this one - the guitars, piano and organ as well as the reverb and echo returns all running fully through the filter, no parallel filtering this time. It gets crunchy sometimes with the drum mode on the Strymon Volante.

    Hi Jah Servant,
    My name is Stefano, nice to meet you!! :) A few days ago I also received the KTBK HPF from Audio Merge, not from WestFinga like yours....:) but I can't get it to work. I have a sound card which is the Apollo Twin from Universal audio and I use Ableton live 11 as a daw. Could you tell me how to connect the HPF to the sound card and how should I make it work inside the daw?? I hope you can help me my friend...
    I await your kind feedback, thank you!! :)❤💛💚

      Hi, I don’t use Ableton or have an Apollo Twin, but you have to find out how to set up an external effect in Live and route it to the twin and back again. For this to work, the twin needs to have more than two channels, hopefully it does. You’re using two for your main monitoring probably and you’ll need a 3rd one for the filter hookup. Hope you figure it out.

    Can the Benidub be def back into itself on the desk, whilst using the feedback on the unit at the same time and in 100% wet setting?

    • @JahServant
      @JahServant  Год назад

      I don’t have a Benidub delay, which is what I think you’re asking about. Normally you wouldn’t use the feedback on the units though, you’d set it to one repeat and then use the fader to control the feedback. Once you feedback through the mixer then that is the feedback path, you can use both, but may not work the way you hope.

      @@JahServant Ah sorry, I watched a couple of vids in quick succession. Well yeah that's what I'm on about: normally you won't use the feedback on a DSP unit when you're feedbacking it on the desk because you can't. Well you can, but it sounds horrible.

      If you're into hardware and can get hold of a korg er 1, they're tremendous dub machines that can do that sound and way more, as well as being a great tweakable drum machine.

    I am using the zed r16 and filter. Please explain exactly how to set the filter up

    • @JahServant
      @JahServant  2 года назад +1

      One way is to insert it on just the reverb return channel. Another way is to run it parallel, like I showed here ruclips.net/video/lvTOh8vXbEQ/видео.html. The video above though, it's very similar to the demo link I just shared, the difference is that I turned off the channels from the main mix (leave the L-R button up) on the mixer and didn't make any eq adjustment, so when the filter is in the off position, the sound comes through normal. That way, all the sounds are routed through the filter and then to the master channel, I'm basically muting the dry sound by not sending it to the main mix, I'm using an aux channel as a group, since the mixer doesn't have groups, and everything in the group is running through the filter.

      @@quentinmarsh9988 1. set up the filter on an aux send and return to a channel. 2. Send any channels you want to the same send 3. Ensure the L-R switch for the channels you send is up (off).
      With the filter in off position you’ll hear your tracks like normal, adjust the filter and the sound will be fully filtered.

    • @JahServant

      @@quentinmarsh9988 yes, let’s say you return it to channel 16. So the aux goes in the filter and the filter out goes to 16. As with any send effect, the return has to plug in to a channel to be heard.
