    Thanks for that. I'm enjoying learning more about the forms. I'm only 2 months in my Wing Chun journey, but I have to say I am liking how the core principles are echoed in every thing we do.

      Glad to hear that you're enjoying your practice so far. It's a beautiful and simple art with boundless depth. So what relaxation means to you now after 2 months will certainly have a different meaning in a year, and completely different in 5years etc.
      It's a never-ending journey of cultivation. A real Art.
      Best of luck and hope you enjoy every moment of your practice 🙏

      @@MindfulWingChun I look forward to it. It's also strangely motivating having a photo of Sifu Jim, Ip man and Chu Shong-tin at the front of class. Even in photos I can still feel the energy they have put into the art.

      @manoamano3699 Thanks man. After Chu Shong Tin's of course. But yeah I was in a very good state in this one. It's not clear in the footage, but it actually started raining and became very windy during the form, and my place is around 400 meters above sea level so I could feel the rain clouds and was feeling charged up while doing it 👌🏼

    Any chance you could do a slow version explaining all the techniques? The wrist circles honestly confuse me, there is nothing like that in the Korean and Japanese styles I have done before

      @AD690smcr Hi, Actually we have literally hours of videos on that exact thing on all the forms, going through move by move, on our online school: www.mindfulwingchun.online 👍🏻

    Another good video. You mentioned rebound energy and springyness. I have not watched all your videos, so i might not have seen it yet, but I don't recall any mention of it. Could you point me to a video that gives a bit more detail?

    • @MindfulWingChun
      @MindfulWingChun  6 месяцев назад +1

      The 'Mindful Relaxation' attained through this practice results in that type of structure/energy. It's the flow of intention through the body that activates this type of force.

      @@MindfulWingChun Just re-watched that video. The flow of intention and relaxation of the joints will result in a spring like quality, that makes sense. With this achieved I assume we still don't directly crash into another persons force. The spring quality would move them out of the way. Would that be correct?

    • @MindfulWingChun
      @MindfulWingChun  6 месяцев назад +2

      @Grenader_5_56X45 yes, there is never a direct resistance of force. In addition to what you said above, the contact point (I.e. the point where your forearm contacts with your opponent's) is always a fulcrum point. This is due to the nature of the joints of the human body. Ball, hinge and pivot joints will always create round forces in the bones that attach to them, meaning the shoulder creates a round force in the upper arm bone and the elbow joint creates a round force in the forearm. So the force is never flat-pressing at the point of contact if the joints are utilized correctly.

    i think i read that gm chu shong tin lived with some sort of deadly cancer for years? and one of the reasons why he lived so long was through this practice? i maybe wrong

    • @MindfulWingChun
      @MindfulWingChun  6 месяцев назад +1

      @jl1876 That is right. He had liver and kidney cancer. The doctors gave him maximum 6months to live, and he ended up living for another 7years without any chemo or surgery, teaching us 5 days a week
