    Good mornings have been a fundamental in my training for the past 3-4 years just like the squat or deadlift. Back is thick and bulletproof.

    The seated variation saved my hip. I kid you not. Totally rehabbed a severe strain with those. Great exercise.

    I used to do banded goodmornings with one of those ultra thick bands for high reps. Might have to start doing them again.

    My DL form is not consistent unfortunately so I hurt my back. I now do Good mornings to strengthen lower back and do DL again

    Two collapsed discs in my back over 30 years of sport and general abuse. Been doing these about six months and they are really helping.

    I like the mention of good mornings - may swap those in as it gets tedious to load and unload plates on RDLs all the time. May have to throw in RDLs and deadlifts every once in a while to keep form and challenge grip strength a bit though.

    I'm a washed up gym rat at this point, but have always been a big fan of good mornings never tried the staggered stance variation before, going to give those a try.

    Am currently doing snatch grip deadlifts one workout and deadlifts off blocks with normal grip width on another day and am letting them fight it out. Btw, those snatch grip deadlifts with mixed grip are great for improving grip strength

    what are your thoughts on the seated good morning instead of standing?

      I have briefly tried them before and don't find them comfortable. But I have nothing against them, I just haven't spent enough time with that variation. Many people praise that variation and there is probably some merit to it.
