I agree obviously the dial is a direct copy but no one has ever combined that dial with that case so that's the part that's unique but I see your point. Excellent point about the size.
Nice looking budget piece for sure! Cool that it has indiglo, didn't know that. The lack of transparency regarding the "homage" aspects of this watch is funny.
I only watch your videos for pure enjoyment. That's why I watch 😂 Love you bro it's getting to be silly season at Jeff's palace so here we go again. 🙏 😂
I've got a couple of these watches. I've had 'em 6 months. They look good. The time needs to be re-set weekly, and I only discovered a few days ago that when you press the light it slows the second hand down. Both watches do it, and one has a new battery. They're good looking watches though.
I went to grab the Timex x Worn and Wound WW75 in blue (sold out) and stumbled across this one, too. Thought it was pretty interesting and good value. Looks even better here than it did on the website. I like that the seconds hand appears to be hitting the markers…a feat usually pretty likely with Timex!
Hey man just wanna say that you are not offending anyone and that you are just expressing your opinion and giving us an honest review while exposing timex and thank you for that . By the way i think that i am gonna buy the watch because i like the look of it and its price.
Great video Joe. Nothing unique about this watch whatsoever, however it is all put together from borrowed ideas in a very nice and affordable manner. Kudos to Timex for doing this, but I agree 💯 with you Joe that it is presented in a nontruthful manner, and as you I would prefer Timex would come out and flat out stated that they have taken design inspiration from legendary divers to come up with this stunning watch...or something like this, I'm no marketing guy 🙂 I personally do not have an issue with homages, I own several, but don't make claims that are just not true. All of the above said, again, I like this watch, and I will probably buy one. Thank you again Joe for your thoughts and perspective. Have a great weekend brother 👍
Just strange how they seriously thought they could fool us. It’s such an obvious copy that I’m shocked they would try to go the opposite direction and straight out lie. It’s hilariously stupid in my opinion.
Would you consider reviewing the San Martin Vintage Seamaster 300? For $100 more than the Timex you get a whole lotta more watch. Stainless Steel, Sapphire Glass, Automatic Movement NH35 and a decent bracelet. Timex have basically done what San Martin do but a whole lot worse! Why do reviewers let Timex off but criticise company's like San Martin for giving the average person the chance to wear a decent watch with the proven good looks of a Grail?
Oh I'm taking it soooo seriously 🧐 Timex would never do such a thing. Omega made this watch back in the 50's because they knew Timex was going to make it now. They cheated 😕
Nice looking watch, definitely a homage piece. Very difficult to come up with a completely original idea/dial for a watch these days, as you said, inspiration is taken from others, but this one is most definitely a direct copy of the omega, and a nice one at that, but yeah your points are definitely valid, Timex shouldn't be trying to sell this as something unique/original
Not a bad looking watch & for what I would call proper Timex money. But as you rightly pointed out absolutely nothing unique about that dial & handset at all.
Playing devils advocate a little here but this would be unique to timex. They don’t have anything quite like it in their current catalog that I’m aware of. It would at best be stretching the truth however. It is nice to see a quartz budget homage. I thought for sure when I first saw this it would be like the stuff from the Q line which I’m not huge fan of. At a certain point just save me the extra $75 and make it quartz.
Its a nice looking watch but why can’t Timex just make it with a s/s case, sapphire crystal and a NH35 movement? why can’t they make something that will last? I would be willing to pay more…I had two Q watches and I had to trash both of them.
For me, Timex has way too much negative baggage from the 70s and 80s when they were a really poor brand. I have seen nothing to suggest any significant improvements. It's a no from me. Great review 👏
Matty S!!! Kind of you to send your watches to my buddy Adrian. You’re a good man. I agree with you mate. Timex is a “no” for me for their current antics.
How dare you. Joke. Nice omega review..sorry timex. I find Timex odd, some amazing recent (re)issues and some nice new bits with their James Brand link, Waterbury and Expedition North line. But then this feels like it should be a sub-brand or something, or, show the history with old photos to show it's yours and make it out of better case materials like the other lines.
Yeah man! Timex is a bit odd and hard to relate to this brand. I like the reissues but they use movements and materials that were just as good as the watch they are reissuing. The purpose of a reissue is to provide the same look with better technology of today.
@@AvgJoeWatchReviews agree, they keep adding 8215 movements and should upgrade them if they're in with miyota. They're such a big company I can't see why they don't ... Oh it's profits.. but surely they'd sell more and production costs drop?! Hey hum.
@@ajcallaway123 you and I are on the same page. All companies are in for the profit but don’t be so greedy on margins. How can some companies offer sapphire, Superluminova, upgraded movements, etc. for what Timex offers with acrylic crystals, bargain basement lume, and non hacking movements with ghost positions. They’re rubbing it in our faces.

Excellent point about the size.
Thank you sir. Appreciate your feedback.
Seriously though, I didn't know this was a homage. This piece popped up on my Instagram ad and I thought it was an original. Thanks for clarity 👊
My pleasure bud. It was a fun video to put together.
Looks even more like my 1958 Omega Railmaster! It’s a beauty!
They say that it has unique hands meaning that they are pretty different to other styles of hands, not that it's the only watch that has those hands

You’ll see those on eBay selling for astronomical prices like the Snoopy Marlin of yesteryear. Thanks for watching bud!

Found it new on Amazon for $52. Total steal! 👍😎

Appreciate the feedback mate. Timex definitely tried to pull fast one on us here. The watch will sell well regardless.
Interesting - didn't realize Timex made such a unique watch! :)
😂 a true “one of a kind” from their own collection!
That definitely looks bigger than a 40mm. Pretty cool looking piece though.
Definitely 👍

Agreed bud! Thanks for watching.
Yes
In a way, they didn't lie. It is unique, but not to Timex, but to Omega 😂
True story 😂 👍
@@AvgJoeWatchReviews LOL
I love Timex and have quite a few of their watches, but I would never buy this one. The Strap is the best thing about it.
Omega Railmaster never gets any credit.
Adding to the title now. I missed it. Thanks.

I’m with you. I have a love/hate with Timex because I question the same aspects you just did.
Anyone who but this know what they pay for & will & can a nicely made watch ,plus a good lum

They've been fantastic brand lately, minus this one slip up. They've completely reworked their image in my opinion at least
Then uour biased
Timex have big into cheap knockoff homages for a while now it’s a real shame.
More of an Omega Railmaster homage, but yeah.
You’re right!

Takes a lickin and keeps on tickin
I’m baffled why they don’t use this slogan anymore? It’s genius. I question a lot of aspects of Timex. They’re a quirky brand.
Seamaster railmaster
its too late for timex. they suck
