Nice mower man, I have a Ferris ISX 2200 61 inch cutting deck with the 28 horsepower Briggs and Stratton Vanguard with the Oil guard system on it,Keep up the good work man.
(Christina) Thank You!! I have been around a family big in cars and racing so I am used to the maintenance side of things but just never done anything on the mowers, it was fun! Might need to help out a bit more 😂
You're teaching her the good methods J! Now you can kick back and let the wife do the maintenance! LOL!! I see your plan! Well done video. I hope you two don't have cabin fever yet! lol Have a good day and y'all stay safe out there!
Ha😎yeah, I put an ExMark seat on my Ferris. The Ferris seat didn't have enough padding and the frame of the seat was too large for my body type. I'm only 5'8 . The Ferris seat seems like it would suit a guy that's 6'4.
Yeah , I think they are about $30. Most regular filters are like $10 but , You have to change those every 50 hrs-100 hrs. The oil guard filter is every 250 hrs-500 hrs🤷♂️
@@Prunus1st yeah, it does appear to be different from the original but,the filter was seated and installed properly. The filter tab doesn't have to be lined up the same exact way. Good eye though 😉
That is how Briggs says change it BUT you know there is still 1 qt of OLD Nasty oil in that motor dont you?? Best way is to do all you did BUT remove plug on bottom side of block and drain another pint out then put your new oil into tank [plug back in] no filter yet Then remove plug wires and remove one oil line from engine to top oil filter and crank over --this will pump new oil into system and another pint of old oil out --pump into a cup till clean new oil comes out--Now put another qt oil in button up and NOW you have a COMPLETE Oil change with ALL new oil, Other way is like changing oil in your pickup and putting one qt of old nasty oil back into your engine--SAME THING,,,

So I own a Scag, this video shows a Ferris mower with a ExMark seat? or is ExMark affiliated with Ferris?

The price on the filters is insane!!!!!!

Dope!!!

Maybe I don't know each other, but in my opinion this filter cartridge is not fully tightened
It's just a quarter turn to tighten the filter/cap

Thanks Kim! Hope y'all are doing fine! Take care!

Oil analysis might save you long term money. Check at 300 and 500 hrs and you would know if 500 hrs is safe. IMHO
Thanks for the advice!
👍✌️😀
Thanks! Vicki 🙄✌...how are y'all up there?

Why a new hub? Just knock out the old wheel studs and install new? And for $300 you can get 2 chrome aftermarket wheels.
I've seen that done before and its not worth my time. I'm not a fan of chrome🤷♂️thanks for watching and commenting

Turn your oil jug over when pouring for a while. Won't burp or slosh
