It's crazy how Metalfoes was one of the best and most splashable decks for ages but nowadays people only know Electrumite
Some of the random pendulum archetypes actually look really cool, they were just done dirty by the mishandling of pendulums as a mechanic.
Metalfoes are such a cool deck, just like magicians they have a really awesome grind game that got entirely forgotten because link spam
wouldn't say they're random. Metalfoes was part of the meta before with the likes like kozmo and zoodiac

The true pendulum deck time forgot was Igknights. Master Rule 4 straight up erased it from history.

My first competitive deck ever was majespecter metalfoes and I had my first top with it back in 2016. Metalfoes will always be the coolest deck for me
god 2016 was so amazing for the foes. control with just infinite counter, combo with gofu, hybrid builds that pivoted... what a great deck

@@OhitsONnow I LOVE Predaplant, verte just doesn't work in the archetype though. Predaplant fusion locks itself on a good turn so you just CANNOT use it. It would be a great combo starter for a bad hand if it didn't end your turn after using its effect.
We need a mini tournament for archetypes overshadowed by one card like metalfoes and crystrons.

Metalfoes with Princess and Electrumite is really funny. Looping Mithrilium's soft OPTs with Princess & Zealantis feels really good (same thing with Ignister Prominence, actually...) - it's a shame Pendulum instant-loses to Snake-Eyes...
Heavy Metalfoes Electrumite is such a good card for the archetype. I hope I can play this card in my favourite pendulum archetype forever!

I played Memento for the event and it was really fun, especially since it has not only a really solid power level, but leaves so much room for creative (extra) deck building and skill. My MVP in the event was Pitknight Earlie, which was usally popped with Mementotlan Fusion to set up a free negate during the end phase.
I remember playing a deck like with these guys in it for the N/R rarity festival, and that deck was cracked in that tournament.

I played a weird concoction of Unchained Dinomorphia during this event. Was honestly pretty fun, tho I had to keep reminding myself not to accidentally fiendlock myself.
This event was really cool since I managed to play Abyss Actors without Maxx "C" running around.
Was pretty fun using Nib and then stealing the token with Comic Relief and use it to OTK them.

imo, for this bit, MBT should read finnegans wake by Joyce. It's way more incomprehensible, shows more disdain for the opponent, and stresses your theatre kid skills more to read aloud

metalfoes is one of those pendulum archetype that i actually enjoyed playing, it may not be competitively strong against nowadays meta but dam, i just don't know what part of it that keeps getting me interested in it.... or probably seeing the ability to +4 with magician soul + 2 metalfoes combination feels really funny

Metalfoes are pretty shafted by MR4, but I think igknight got it worse.
Which one Joseph? MR4 dragged every Pend deck out back and gave them a C96 Mauser retirement

Souls engine is nice but (thanks to MR4) the deck sorely misses starters, and if you don't draw souls for turn searching it kinda becomes a big chokepoint. Personally I go for more immediate field presence rather than card advantage, Electrumite and Beyond are generic and if you manage to get to them they'll get everything else you need.
You can go into a ton of stuff varying from interesting to deranged:
- Dracoslayer stuff
- Terrortop add Hexasaucer pop Hexa
- Kash has some cute interactions (a bunch of good 7s in metalfoes already, use the summoned fenrir as beyond mat then pend the added one, pop birth after it resolves effects for counter, Vanisher triggers Ariseheart, access to odd-eyes vortex, Fenrir is a Small World bridge from non 7 metalfoes to Astrograph)
- Eldland add Forever, pop Eldland for Eldlich, Eldlich send Fusion/Combination to summon
- d/d/d package, Kepler add gate get Gryphon (or King Kaiser which is Machinex on turn 1 and Trident Dragion + Dark Ruler no more on turn 2)
- Send Fusion/Combination with Droplet or fucking Emergency Provisions/Anteatereatingant

Metalfoes snake eyes is my main. Its sleeper, but it takes forever, i often end with 40ish sec left.
Fyi mythrilliam isnt once per turn and is a "leaves the field" eff.
