The scene in which Bullet Tooth Tony beats a guy with car door, picks up the phone and says: "Bon Jour" is actually a scene from Guy Ritchie's previous movie “Lock Stock and Two smoking barrels”. He retroactively connected the two movies together with this scene. Also the scene when Tony drives the car with the dude being trapped in the car window and then turns on the radio listening to Madonna and says: "I love this track". Guy Ritchie at that time was married to Madonna.
Did you notice the director's gift to his wife halfway through? Lucky Star by Madonna - the director Guy Ritchie's then wife. She'd have got a nice payout for him using that song. Ahh, that's love 😂
33:33: In the movies they're called pykies, but more popularly called "Travelers". They have their own language called "Kant" because they're the only ones who can speak it & nobody else can't.
The fact you can put this film into almost any category genre is a testament to the writing and acting. It will always be a comedy for me though. I rarely go a day where one of the lines isn't relevant to a situation. My favourite to use is definitely Brad Pitts Micky when told he'll be paid 10k for the fight - "I lose more than that running for the bus"...
When I first saw this movie I thought Brad Pitt had really overdone the accent, but Irish friends have assured me that that's EXACTLY how Irish gypsies really do speak. I think it's one of his best roles, if not the best of the lot. It's a great film all round, with good acting, a great script, an intricate and absorbing plot, and a great ending.
A similar movie would be ‘The Gentlemen’ with Matthew McConaughey, Colin Ferrel, and Hugh Grant. Both movies were done by Guy Ritchie. It’s a good movie. You should check it out.
I absolutely love this movie and am so happy you watched it. It is totally confusing on the first watch because they hit you with so many different characters and heavy English slang, so don't feel bad for needing time to digest it. You should totally do a second viewing to see if there are some "Ah ha!" moments.
OMG Snatch & Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels and my favorite Guy Richie movies. I've watched these movies so much, I know line for line🤣. Great reaction 👍🏾
This is one of my favorite films. So funny, such good acting and writing. the irony and comedy is so good. Definitely watch it again...They are all intertwined story lines and it's just one big cluster of chaos
Fun fact. Tyson Fury the world heavyweight champion is from a PIKEY...gypsey background. One of their favourite activities is bareknuckle fighting so that's why Tyson calls himself the GYPSY KING.
A pikey is a slur used in the UK, referring to people who travel around the country in a community. So when you said gypsy you were right, however that is the slur term we use in the states to describe the same community. The term that has been approved by the people in that culture is Romani. I honestly just learned that the term gypsy was considered offensive myself a couple years ago, so not passing judgement, just passing on the information. Love the reactions, you are both fantastic and I can not wait to see what is next.
Thanks for the info, cuz I knew not to refer to them as P*$#!es, but now I know the g word is bad too. I'll keep in mind to refer to them as Romani from now on.
You missed one of the best visual gags ever: During the “its fer me Ma” sequence, her dress in the photo is the same pattern as the curtains,so she made her dress from her curtains🤣🤣🤣
Boris was trying to steal the diamond, the American guy with the gray hair and mustache (cousin Avi) was supposed to be the original recipient. There's a lot going on, it's rapid-fire, and some of those different accents are difficult to follow. It's a lot easier on second viewing. Man I love this movie, there's just so much style. I feel bad for anyone trying to edit this down for RUclips, because basically every line of dialogue is witty and hilarious.
That "little bitty car" is a Rover SD1 V8, a full-size family hatchback also used as a highway pursuit car in the 80s. It's not HUGE, but not a small car either.
Guy Ritchie is a very famous UK director, and this is one of his best-known works. He's known for his clever humor and ultra-stylish directing style. He's also married to Madonna (or was). Guy Ritchie discovered Jason Statham and gave him his first film role in the movie "Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels", another Guy Ritchie classic. "Snatch" is probably my favorite of Ritchie's works, and I still quote it to this day. Ritchie is known for his crime/caper/comedy films, and his star-studded casting. I highly recommend "Lock, Stock", Statham's first film, and Ritchie's more recent film starring Gerard Butler and Idris Elba called "Rock'n'Rolla". He also directed/wrote a popular and well-received film adaptation of Sherlock Holmes, starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law. All of those films are excellent, and there is a third on the way. I highly recommend checking those movies out. Should have a great time with them. Really, anything directed by Guy Ritchie I would recommend. He's considered one of the best for a reason. Always really fun, and/or really trippy/twisty. Speaking of twisty, he did a lesser known, and more recent flick with Statham and Andre 3000 called "Revolver", that'll mess with your head. Even if you don't react to that one, definitely worth a watch. The man knows how to write a twist, that's for sure. If you guys do more Guy Ritchie, I'll tune in every time.
I've always thought he deserved an Oscar nomination for this. He disappeared into that character, no trace of superstar Brad Pitt. And he supposedly got the accent down perfectly.
"Snatch", "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" and "RockNRolla" are three of my favorite movies and have seen each countless times. Also, they weren't Amish, they are Hasidic Jews. 😂
It takes a few viewings to really remember what the hell everyone is doing. Also, I highly recommend subtitles for this movie. There’s stuff that’s really hard to understand until you read it once or twice. Also the people in the beginning are religious/orthodox Jews not Amish. Your reactions are dope! 😊
Stephen Graham, one of the best actors in the world, did not audition for the part, he went with a friend who auditioned and got the part because the director recognised him. Bricktop wasn't supposed to wear glasses, but the actor who played him forgot his contacts and had to wear those glasses to read his lines and the director thought it made the character look better. Anyway, if you enjoyed this, then you have to watch Lock, Stock, And Two Smoking Barrels. Same director and some of the same actors and a similar theme.
This is one of the most quotable films ever. This is britsh films at their best. If you enjoyed this check out lock stock and two smoking barrels and 51st state is an underrated film
I thought Robbie Gee, Lenny James and Abe stole the show. Those men should have done a dozen movies together. Incompetence and humor are a brilliant mix. "What's that?" "It's a dog, got 'em off the Gypo's". Priceless!
I haven't seen anyone mention this yet; notice how Tommy - who's kind of portrayed as a wimp and maybe a little naive - ends up being the most heroic character in the movie. He shows up at the arcade with his fake gun and bluffs the henchmen just long enough to rescue Turkish. Tommy knows full well that gun doesn't work by that point, but he goes in for his friend regardless. He's pretty ineffectual for all the other parts of the movie, but that one scene is where he shines.
I could quote this movie forwards and backwards… well, maybe not Brad Pitt’s lines. 😂 I love how many accents there are in the UK. It fascinates me. Like we have accents in the US, but for the most part, I could go across the country and still understand people. It seems like you could go two blocks in London and have to listen closely just to ask about the weather. 😂😂😂
Asia was just smitten with Pitt's Abs. Boris is the guy with the accent, and beard. Cousin Avi was the guy with the moustache. Bullet Tooth Tony is the guy with the Desert Eagle.
Great choice guys, and as you are going down this rabbit hole you have to check out Lock, Stock and 2 smoking barrels, wicked film, this was the follow up movie by the same director although they aren’t linked in any way. Enjoy guys 👍 Had to come on and add to my comment guys, Boris wasn’t the guy from America, that was Avi, Boris died in the corridor after being repeatedly shot by Tony (Vinnie Jones). Pikey is a derogatory term that refers to the traveling community (those who live in caravans), they aren’t thought of very well in the UK as they park their caravans in areas that aren’t theirs, they leave a huge mess, they usually find ways to scam the residents of the areas they stay in whether it’s laying driveways or something like that, the work is never done properly and as soon as they have outstripped everything they can from an area they move on somewhere else. The police can never find them, they band together snd basically do as they please hence people dislike them.
Good Reaction Guys to my Hometown's movie. THey were not "Amish" but pretending to be Jewish, as were one or two of the dealers because Jewish people dominate The European Diamond Trade as there are vast amounts of money to be made there. In fact in Hatton Garden, which is London's Diamond Centre o, over 70% of all Traders are Jewish though they are only 1 in every 200 UK people. Extraordinarily successful and until a few years ago, the street language of that Diamond Trade was "Yiddish" to, deliberately, make it very difficult for any other people to get involved...lol. B.J. loves reading the lyrics and, ironically, you needed Subtitles to understand the script and many jokes😀
This movie made me become a fan of Brad Pitt and made me realized how good an actor he truly is. I just thought of him as a pretty boy and never took him serious but this movie changed all of that! I became an instant fan, lol.
@@AbeVicious I didn't say I never liked the guy, lol. I guess I should have worded my comment differently in that this character made me appreciate him more than I did. Oh and don't forget Interview with the Vampire.
I grew up in north Kent/Medway, around a LOT of Irish travellers/tinkers/gypsies, and I can say without doubt Brad Pitt absolutely nailed that accent. It's the movie that made me realise Brad Pitt isn't just a pretty boy with his shirt off - he's actually an accomplished actor (with his shirt off).
One of my favorite movies. All the actors are great, and the dialogue is genius (you need subtitles for your first time watching it though lol). Vinny, Mickey and Brick Top are my favorite characters.
"Pikies" = travellers (they travel up and down the turnpike), often Irish. "Gypsy" is slang for "Egyptian", based on the mistaken idea that the travellers are from Egypt when traditionally they were Roma. Also the root of the expression "Gypped" or cheated. Not very popular in the UK - they have a reputation for camping for a few weeks in one place, parting out cars, moving on and leaving a mess (as shown towards the end of the movie). Part of the resentment arises from British law giving them some surprising rights. Hence, everyone "hates f***ing pikies".
Decent! Fun Fact: Brad Pitt auditioned for another role but couldn't pull off an English accent so he was given the role of the Gypsy, could barely understand what he was saying anyway. Recommendations: The Book Of Eli, Equilibrium, Blood Diamond, Basic and John Q!
Pikey is not derogatory it's just another name for gypsy. If you have the DVD of this movie you can watch it with Pikey subtitles so you can understand what Brad Pitts character Mikey is saying. This is one of my favorite movies however, my first time watching it there was definitely the language barrier. After watching it a few time you start to understand the slang words more. Like "blagged" means robbed, they kind of explain that in the move. Or the word "bloke", means guy/dude essentially.

Guy Richie was dating Madonna when this was made, so he integrated her music (Lucky Star) into the movie with the Bullet Tooth Tony scenes.
Ahh, that's love 😂
yeah if i’m not mistaken, he had to pay $1,000,000 to use that one song 😱
@@SeenGod I'd be gobsmacked if it was that much, but it wasn't his money anyway.
@@garrybaldy327 i’ve also heard it was $50,000 - so yeah who knows 😂😂
"Oh, I love this track!" - Bullet Tooth Tony
33:33: In the movies they're called pykies, but more popularly called "Travelers".
They have their own language called "Kant" because they're the only ones who can
speak it & nobody else can't.
My favorite part is when Avi tells Tony to "get the stone" out of the dog...LMAO. "He's squeaking!"
An instant classic. Soooo many one liners in that movie.
Snatch is the goat. Class film to watch when you’re hungover
I like it, almost every time Asia looks horrified and BJ is loving every minute lol
You should check Guy Ritchie's prior film Lock Stock And Two Smoking Barrels
I absolutely love this movie and am so happy you watched it. It is totally confusing on the first watch because they hit you with so many different characters and heavy English slang, so don't feel bad for needing time to digest it. You should totally do a second viewing to see if there are some "Ah ha!" moments.
This is one of my favorite films. I love ensemble films and films where several plot threads intertwine. So excited to see y’all react to it.
You missed one of the best visual gags ever:
During the “its fer me Ma” sequence, her dress in the photo is the same pattern as the curtains,so she made her dress from her curtains🤣🤣🤣
Oh yes! This is one of the best films of all time! I know BJ is gonna love it
Boris was trying to steal the diamond, the American guy with the gray hair and mustache (cousin Avi) was supposed to be the original recipient.
Definitely a "watch more than once" movie to get all that's going on. Excellent characters and story.
"I think you were looking at Brad Pitt's abs" LMAO , as always another great reaction, love you guys . Appreciate what you do 💯
Probably my favourite UK movie, followed by 'Trainspotting'
Also cheers to the two of you for always colour blocking and matching with your fits. Yall always look great together.
This pic and it’s predecessor Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels made Jason Statham and was discovered by the director Guy Ritchie.
That "little bitty car" is a Rover SD1 V8, a full-size family hatchback also used as a highway pursuit car in the 80s. It's not HUGE, but not a small car either.
Great movie that; good choice. If you like this one; you'll also like "Lock, Stock and two Smoking Barrels"
Which really is just the same movie
Great choice! Love this movie!
Brad Pitts best performance, in my opinion.
I've always thought he deserved an Oscar nomination for this. He disappeared into that character, no trace of superstar Brad Pitt. And he supposedly got the accent down perfectly.
@jenniferfoster1692 he's a great character actor trapped in a leading man's body.
Have you seen him in "True Romance"?
@@aftonair Yes, he's very good in it!
@jenniferfoster1692 also, "Kalifornia".
No trace of pretty boy.
Priceless!
Never liked a video so fast lol.
Snatch is my second fave movie of all time. It's masterful :)
I've seen this movie soon many times... I have tears dripping down my cheeks watching y'all watch this!!
Boris was the russian who wanted to steal the diamond. Cousin Avi is the New York jewelry who flew out for the diamond.
This movie needs more than one watch with subtitles to really get it. It is quick with the sarcasm and comedy.
If you follow boxing Tyson Fury is the Gypsy King. Which is how he rose like Lazarus during one of the wilder fights
Gotta love this one lol its too funny! You guys MUST see Fargo (the movie) if you haven't already reacted to it. It's based on a true crime story. ✌️❤
Guy Ritchie is the man! Next up: Lock, stock and two smoking barrels. And: The Gentlemen
I could quote this movie forwards and backwards… well, maybe not Brad Pitt’s lines. 😂
I love how many accents there are in the UK. It fascinates me. Like we have accents in the US, but for the most part, I could go across the country and still understand people. It seems like you could go two blocks in London and have to listen closely just to ask about the weather. 😂😂😂
@nicholasgreen339 “only three” 😂 In one place!
My favorite GR film! So glad you watched this! ❤
Asia was just smitten with Pitt's Abs. Boris is the guy with the accent, and beard. Cousin Avi was the guy with the moustache. Bullet Tooth Tony is the guy with the Desert Eagle.
Brad Pitt stayed with a gypsy family while researching the role. All he learned was that he couldn’t understand a word… so that’s how he played it 😊
They are Irish Travellers. It is confusing when people say Gypsy as people think they are Roma who are a different group.
"Anything to declare?"
"Yeah, don't go to London."
As true today, as it was said when it was spoken.
Loved this movie. Well made.
You two cracked me up. I understand you don't know about the English slang, but i laughed so much at you two enjoying it. Top draw man.
Great choice guys, and as you are going down this rabbit hole you have to check out Lock, Stock and 2 smoking barrels, wicked film, this was the follow up movie by the same director although they aren’t linked in any way. Enjoy guys 👍
Had to come on and add to my comment guys, Boris wasn’t the guy from America, that was Avi, Boris died in the corridor after being repeatedly shot by Tony (Vinnie Jones).
"Are you takin' the piss, Boris?"
Took that long?
@@AbeVicious sadly yes, lol..I liked him in Seven but this one solidified him for me. And his latest, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is pure gold.
@Clarence Worley I was going to say what about se7en or fight club, inglourious basterds even
@@AbeVicious I didn't say I never liked the guy, lol.
Jewish, not Amish 👍🏻
There’s an aggressive difference 😂
Oh.. now I see what you mean lol
Hey, Thanks M D! My bad
Hasidic
@@ReelinwithAsiaandBJ might wanna sticky a comment saying that lol
One of my favorite movies. All the actors are great, and the dialogue is genius (you need subtitles for your first time watching it though lol). Vinny, Mickey and Brick Top are my favorite characters.
I dunno if yall will ever see this but I'd love to see your reaction to a movie called "Layer Cake" if you enjoyed snatch you'll love it.
Just started watching this reaction loving that you’ve done this movie but they were Jewish not Amish 😂
I have the DVD and one of the captions for one of the lines he says was simply "???"
@tonyben3 lol yeah, forgot about that. Been awhile since I watched the DVD
LOVE this movie
Love this movie! Thanks for posting! Guy Ritchie is a great director. Recommend Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. I call my very old cat Gorgeous George
Awesome film! Very clever
Have you been spying into my movie library? Another great flick! Another all-time favorite of mine. Favorite quote: "Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity..."
Don't forget to watch "This is Spinal Tap". Also "Blackhawk Down" is a movie you absolutely must watch!
Forgot to mention. Guy Richie was dating Madonna when this was made, so he integrated her music (Lucky Star) into the movie with the Bullet Tooth Tony scenes. Also, Tony's intro when he's crushing the guy's head in with a car door was a plug to his role in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.
Snatch react choice 🎉 love this one
I’m British and this a is a staple😂
