Thank you Meg and Thank you Dr. Adrian! I'm so relieved Aeolia didn't show fractures or breaks on her x-ray!🩶🦇🤗💕💕 She has plenty of time to be a Mumbat.🥰
No abnormal xrays, elbows healing and negative pregnancy; Jackpot! Aeolia should be able to ride out the cold season well fed, warm housed and worry free! 🎉🎊
She'll stay in care till she's recovered from her head smack and if there are enough bats to go for another release cycle before we shut down during baby season, then she'll go out before then or stay in till the next release cycle in January.
Yeah for Aeolia 💜🦇Nothing broken & no baby…that’s great! Just needs to rest,,,,..Meg, I love the shoes and have seen them out on the dance floor …..lots of fun🟣🔵🟢🟡🟠🔴🟤
Thanks, Meg and Dr. Adrian, for all you do daily for the bats! ( and all the other rescues). I'm sorry Aeolia lost her baby at some point, but I'm happy she's a survivor. Funny how they come in as flying fox's and become octopus!😇❤️🖤🦇🖤❤️
Glad and sad, Glad that she didn't have any broken bones, sad that there's no +1. But she's healthy otherwise so I guess future +1s won't be a problem. Thank you so much for all your hard work and care for these beautiful creatures :) ♥
It’s good that she’s not pregnant, because her little body can focus all its resources on healing her, rather than sharing them with a baby when she’s unwell ❤️
I'm so glad Aeolia has no broken bones. Do you take her to a carer now or will you keep her for a few more days? Tell Vet Adrian that his fans say "hi!". We love Vet Adrian. ❤
Thank you for this mostly hopeful update on Aeolia. No fractures = great relief. A treat to see Dr Adrian, especially when he’s rising from the foamy white waves of the ball pit like a smiling male bearded veterinary Venus. I hope he gets the house/furniture thing straightened out with minimal further aggravation. He’s so soft-spoken and gentle with the animals he’s caring for, it’s hard for me to imagine him raging, but I’m sure I wouldn’t want to face it. (It’s the quiet ones, you know.) Your shoes are of course spectacular and cheer-inducing. Good wishes to you all, winged and otherwise, from the other hemisphere.
@@jhaywood5810 : Venus, risen from seafoam and riding the waves in a shell, is the subject of the universally displayed Botticelli painting known in English as “The Birth of Venus.” Maybe I’m a bit perverse, but I am delighted imagining Dr Adrian in that scene, clad in his veterinary duds and wielding some esoteric medical tool. Quite possibly an improvement on the lovely but rather insipid original, in my opinion. And there he was in the video, smiling among the translucent white bubble-like balls. How am I to ignore such inspiration? Besides, Posideon was such a meat-headed jerk.
@@Megabattie : Thank you. I always thought that famous Botticelli painting “Birth of Venus” was pretty but a bit insipid. Now, happily, I’ll imagine Adrian in that scene, decked out in his lab coat and wielding an esoteric medical instrument. The cherubs surrounding Venus can be replaced with fruit bats he has helped, a far more charming and useful sort of angel.
So she gets a year off from that endless reproduction grind. Don't have an out of season pup, Aeolia! Take it easy and get your rattled brain back in gear! I hope she'll get well, especially with other bats to hang out with.
Why should kids have all the fun. I think if I was in the Olympics (heaven forbid), I would win every race because the shoes would give me an unfair advantage so I would be disqualified. Sorry, can't see Meg doing any physical exertion though, even with light up wings on her feet...
KOKO, Aeolia. 💙 I love those shoes, Meg. Anything that lights up is fascinating. I keep bioluminescent plankton as sort of pets (actually, light-up plants, but I tell them I love them).
@@Megabattie , They light up when moved, so I give them a swirl before bed. Sometimes, we’re lucky enough to see them out at the beach at night. 2020 was an epic, months long bloom. We had a small bloom last year.
Hmm.. You know the rorschach test cards (where diff ppl see diff things in the ink blots?) I just did that with lil ladies x ray lmao. The 2nd xray, the pelvis TOTALLY has a bats face and ears. Once i saw it i couldn't UNsee it lol. Glad she came up clear, shame no bubba, but at least given some r&r she should be good. Was nice to see the lovely Adrian again. He's not allowed to go away so much, it's not allowed!!
LOL Bev I see dead people... (not really). Adrian went away for a month then I went away for a month so there was 2 months of no Adrian. Good to have him back in the Ball Pit...
That's really good news on Aeolia! Except for no baby - awww. And I wonder how the old injuries to her wings were doing. Healing - cool! Omg, Adrian in the ball pit - too funny! You know, cars with lights under the body have been all the rage. Meg says "hold my beer - I've got underbody lights too!" 😂❤💙💚💛
Meg would NEVER say "hold my beer" in any circumstances. Meg is EXCLUSIVE to bubbles and finds beer disgusting in smell, taste and appearance. I have some fluoro lights for my car tyres, but I don't use them because I can't see them when I'm driving so they don't entertain me nearly enough to be bothered.
@@Megabattie you’re exactly right - I should’ve said “hold my bubbly”! I am chagrined and appalled 😱 I had a Kia Soul 11-12 years ago with speakers which lit up in different colors to music. My one claim to tripping the light fantastic 😂

Aeolia has great bones and is alright!😅 plus there's no baby bub in her...😮 You're probably going to check your scales and weight her again since she does look quite thin on her X-rays. Thanks for keeping us posted with videos on her great progress ~❤🎉
I love watching your channel and all your beautiful bat rescues! Do you have any recommendations for other channels that post bat rescues, is there anyone who's videoing anything about the microbats? They are so adorable. Best of luck to Aeolia!
Batzilla the Bat posts bat vids but not while she's doing rescues. I don't know of anyone who does videos while they are rescuing. I don't do microbats, and I don't know of a microbat channel though Pennsylvania Bat Rescue and Batworld Sanctuary do have YT channels. There are no flying-foxes native to the USA mainland so they're mainly micro rescues and care.
Well, I guess it's good she's not pregnant right now. You're the expert Meg, but would Aeolia's bitey moodiness be helped by other bitey moody bats? Most importantly, let's hope she keeps improving. Thanks Adrian 'ball pit' bat vet!
Most of them learn quickly that you will keep them safe and well fed so i don’t know why this one is slow to come around. Good news on the XRay, that first image had me worried so i am glad it turned out alright. I hope to see her fly off someday. We should all have shoes like yours.
SHe's concussed - quite concussed and very slow to come back to normal. You won't see her fly off; she will just leave the release aviary sometime some night and eventually won't return, and we won't know which one she is on the CCTV footage.
Oh thank goodness no breaks or nasties in the rads! What anaesthetic do they use for bats - isoflurane? Do they think the sometimes funny use of her leg is down to the knock on the noggin? I also wonder if the ridges on the femur is less to do with hanging (interesting about the tendons... I would love to see anatomy charts if you know of any good ones as that is seriously cool!) and more to do with hip articulation in crawling? Those knees are funky little things! (Haha LOVE the ballpit too!)
Quick anaesthetics are usually gas inhalation, ie, isofluorane; it's fast and easy and they wake up quickly. If they need to have a full anaesthetic for more than superficial surgery, then the anaesthetic includes more drugs and muscle paralysis drugs to facilitate the whole process,. I think she is dealing with a head injury and some of the effects of the injury are causing her interaction issues.
@@HolidayGlow She's now integrating with the other bats in the cage and hanging with them; I can't tell which one she is easily without searching out collar colours.

Possibly looks like her spine is slightly curved to the left. Unless it's just the way she's lying. I'm no expert just a very amateur viewer . are bats left or right footed😊
It's just positional; it's really hard to get them straight on the plate because their spin won't sit flat and straight. I don't now if they're left or right footed; there seems to be a sprinkling of both if you look in the aviary when they're just hanging long and loose.
Ok, no bun, but no broken bones either, such good news. Bless her, hope the bruises and concussion heal ❤
