    Great content as always!
I think the Oath nurf was needed to allow units to be buffed without power blow out, but it feels a bit unfair when astartes were never that strong, and factions like Votann just get +1 to hit and wound (statistically same as a reroll) for nothing.

I do agree in some respects about the Votann - the only downside for that army is they were hitting on 4's rather than 3's so their killing power wasn't great to start with. That being said 4 units at the start of the games with the +1 hit and wound possibly is a bit much and an overcorrection because of their win rates (although the competitve meta does skew those numbers a tad). I'll be very interested to see how the Oath change plays out over the coming months for sure. My gaming friend is a marines player so will be curious to see how it plays out in the coming weeks!
Is there a detachment you're most looking forward to seeing how it does?
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the content!

@TheCommandPhase I think the Firestorm Assault Force is the stand out for me competitively and will likely be my go to (Gladius is still strong and close second, but soo bland!). But as someone who loves the Repulsor Executioner and usually runs multiple dreadnoughts, I am looking forward to the Ironstorm Spearhead most. The Oath nurf won't hurt too much, there are enough strats and weapons/abilities that compensate for that. So not worried about that really.
The votann rule is fine but needs to be only 1 judgement token each off the bat. Getting that second token when losing a unit is pretty cool and very space dwarfy I reckon. +1 to wound is massive! I think many people underestimate how much it lets a unit punch up.

You'll have to let me know how you get on with either of those detachments, but I do think building around the Ironstorm could be so much fun!
I wouldn't be surprised if the Votann get a similar nerf to the marines whenever their codex drops to 1 token rather than 2 at the start. But I'm guessing they're still a long way off so who knows.

Pretty happy with Anvil Siege as a Fist player, I don’t get all the hate for it honestly. You can still move and shoot and people are acting like there’s no way something can survive one turn standing still. Great video as always

I'm glad to hear that you are happy with it - To be fair with the right setup players can utilise this detachment rule once or twice a game which may be enough. I just felt from a first impressions, compared to a few of the other detachment rules, it feels like you could play the entire game with very little use out of it while trying to play the mission. It will be interesting to see how they perform, you'll have to let me know how you get on with it!

What armies do you generally play?

    • @TheCommandPhase
      @TheCommandPhase  Год назад

My armies that I own are Chaos Space Marines, Votann, Orks, Custodes and Sisters and generally flick between them depending on what style of army I fancy playing at the time. How about yourself?

@@TheCommandPhase I’m new and haven’t even started my first army. My only introduction to warhammer is I played 1 game of kill team with my friends necrons. So I’m trying to learn.
My current plan is to buy 1 box that I can use as a compendium list for kill team. That way I can start cheap and without too many models like if I bought a combat patrol.
But I also want to ensure the army I pick will be scalable relatively cheaply and the models I buy won’t be like the main model in a really good combat patrol Box or something making that combat patrol less valuable cause I won’t need as many.
      Lots to think about.
I’ve been thinking about space marines, guard. Tau, and orks.
I was originally looking into custodies and grey knights cause they’re cheaper but I feel like those will lock me into a single play style and idk which style I like cause no experience.

I do like the idea of utilising kill team as the entryway into the hobby - its a pretty fun game and small scale enough to not feel overwhelming. Plus you haven't put in too much money to start with if you change your mind.
In terms of the army choices, while playstyle is a think to think about, honestly whichever you feel looks the coolest, like the models of and can imagine painting a lot of is more often than not the best army to pick.
That being said, Space Marines does give you the flexibility to fit pretty much any playstyle and enough kit options to keep things fresh. It's also a pretty resilient first army so gameplay mistakes we all make learning a game won't feel quite as punished. Plus with the number of value kits, leviathan halves on the second hand market you can build something up reasonably cheaply compared to others.
Hope that is of some help and I hope you enjoy the hobby journey!

@@TheCommandPhase to be honest the only problem I have with space marines is all the choice. Like I pick them then I have to pick a color scheme and they all mean different things in relation to lore. Then I’ll have to buy the upgrade kit to get all the little things to make it look like that chapter (or do ppl typically skip that step?). Then on top of that the different chapters play differently. I know they changed that, but you know thematically they do.
I do like how the black templars are basically the orks of the imperium killing things for the sake of it with their forever crusade.
